Hi guys! you asked for it and here it is!
our RAINBOW CAKE recipe!
to make this beautiful cake all you need is:
4 1/2 cups of plain flour
3 cups of caster sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp xanthan gum (if using GF flour)
11/2 tsp table salt
750 ml of soya milk (or any plant based milk)
300 ml sunflower oil
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 tbsp vanilla essence

Also PSA if you live in the US, its 165 Celcius for the temperature- about 330 Farenheit :) I set it to 165F and was very confused at first why my cake wasn't done at first lol!

Thank you so much for this amazing recipe. I'm a complete novice vegan baker and made this for my daughter's birthday (which is today!) It worked perfectly and she loves it.....I added the twist Bosh did with sweets in the middle too.... delicious and easy to follow 🎂🌈😁

Thanks for this recipe. I made this for my sons 3rd birthday last year and I’m currently making it again for his 4th because he said he wants rainbow again :) Trying fan off this time to see if I can get less browning on the edges but other than that it was perfect last year :)

I ended up baking for 165 Celsius with the fan off for 40 minutes and the cakes look INCREDIBLE. Very light and spongy with no browning on the top or sides. Just super vibrant colours. :)

Hi Dani, your video is excellent and very clear. Gave it a go but the cake collapsed on itself, I have a rainbow explosion! What could have gone wrong here?

Hi! I have the ingredients and am going to attempt this tomorrow! I'm just using regular plain flour. Please can you tell me do I still need bicarbonate of soda and baking powder? Am I right that I don't need thr xantham gum with regular flour ? Thank you!!

Hi I wanted to make a rainbow cake in 22cm tins. Would this recipe and Measurements be okay for that size or would I need to add extra ingredients please help. Also I attempted to make a cake to try my new colour sugar flair and my colour didn’t come as as perfect as your bakes comes out more brown could you help with this is it reacting to the vinegar

Thanks for the recipe. I can’t seem to find the temperature and oven time for the cakes (?) . I saw temp somewhere 165celsius, but for how long, with vent or not (?)

hi dear! that will depend on your tins! ours are non stick! but maybe it will be best to do so! so all your hard work pays off :)

This looks amazing. Thanks for sharing. Like many people, not everyone has 6 8" pans, what would you suggest, in terms of baking? Splitting recipe? Also, you said if you are ok with gluten, you can go ahead and use self-raising flour, however the recipe says plain flour, which is correct?

Hi darling! yes! split the recipe in two and bake 3 colours first and once they are completely cooled down remove the cakes from the tins and do the other 3! let me know how it goes! :)

Hi dear, yes! divide the recipe in half :) plain flour is preferable so you can control the raising agents

We dont as our tins are non-stick, that will depend on yours :)

wilton brand is my favourite! you can get the small tubes on amazon! :)

I really like wilton, but any will do :) just double check ingredients in case of allergies

@@danibakesvida9471 hola Dani, I really want to try to but don't have that many tins at once so I'd like to halve the recipe. Do you have ingredient proportions for half the recipe? I realise with things like baking soda it's not just a matter of splitting by 2... right? Thank you!

Hi Dani I'm a bit confused as some of your ingredients doesnt match what you say or do in your videos. Because of this nothing comes out right and it's not cheap buying all the ingredients then making them according to your description ingredients and it just doesnt come out right. Can you help with this?

I ended up adding loads more milk and oil but couldn't seem to rescue it. Went with a different recipe in the end x

I had the same problem. The batter never got to pouring consistency. Each layer came out looking like an uneven cookie and the top layer of most separated out due to gigantic bubbles.

First time I made at full recipe amounts the consistency was spot on to hers, but the cakes were a bit dense, didn’t cook in the middle enough or rise enough, while overdone on the outside. Taste was fine. Second time I cut amounts exactly in half to make cupcakes but batter was runny so I added appx 1/4c more flour without adjusting any other ingredients, and the batter looked the right consistency but again, didn’t rise enough or bake enough in the middle. I might try one more time with increasing raising agents but need to research that first, as ingredients are so expensive.

So it doesn't specify if your meant to use both soda and powder so a beginner like me puts both in and it makes the cake disgusting
