This soup looks so good! I will definitely be trying it! As for the left over tomato paste I usually measure it out in 1tbsp portions using a ice cube tray, freeze until solid, then place “ice cubes” in a freezer bag or a container. Perfect for when a recipe calls for 1tbsp! 😀

I am a new subscriber, and I send you best greetings from rainy Germany. "Spicy," in Germany, is like adding a tiny bit of ginger to something. But I like it really SPICY. I will go to the Weekend Market, and there (usually from the Netherlands, or sometimes from Turkey), there will be sellers, selling JUST the hottest peppers in the world...there isn't a big crowd around those sellers, lol. I usually get the Habanero , but all the other ones, like Ghost peppers almost gave me heart failure, when I took the tinest bite. I love, that you love kale. You would love north Germany then, because we in the north just LOVE kale! The season starts right after Christmas, and Restaurants make up special menus featuring Kale. We eat it with a Wurst (I don't -I am vegan), fried potatos, and lots of beer. So, I want to say, I enjoy your videos very much, and you make me smile, and I feel like I know you. Thank you for sharing. I am fasting right now, but when I am done, I shall definitely be making this. Yummy. You are very authentic, real and just lovely to look at. Bye for now, Mia

Sing Erin. You have a beautiful voice. I feel the same way about the tomato paste. I started buying it in a tube. At least you can put the cap back on and put it in the fridge. You can also freeze the rest in one tablespoon portions and use as needed. The stew looks delicious! Thanks for showing how it's made. I tried Lundberg Family Farms turmeric rice yesterday and it was really good. I'm wondering how turmeric cauliflower rice would taste.

Hi! I take the tomato paste, spoon out a table spoons of it on a plate or cookie sheet, freeze it, then put it in a zip lock once it frozen, and pull them out for the next stew. You can do something similar with fresh herbs like thyme! Take an ice cube tray. Put the fresh herbs in them, what ever portion you like, pour olive oil over it and freeze, then pop in a ziplock. No fresh herbs go to waste. It doesn't get freezer burn cause of the oil, and it's ready when you are!. I'm roasting sweet potatoes now to make this recipe, jazzing it up.

I put the extra tomato paste in ice cube trays and freeze them. When they are frozen, I take them out and put them in a freezer bag. Each is about a table spoon.

This is an excellent video expounding the history of Juneteenth! Well done! However, it’s inaccurate to say that all African-Americans celebrated Juneteenth. It’s really more of a Texas-based celebration than it is for other former slave states whose slaves were earlier emancipated. As a fifth-generation Black Mississippian who grew up in the county which had the most slaves than any other county in the USA during 1860, I can attest that I never heard much about Juneteenth until now. Nevertheless, this is a very well-documented and very rich story that needs to be told. Thank you for sharing!
