Longtime viewer. My parents also passed and they had soooo much stuff. I took photos of items that were important to me and then I let them go. No regrets. I can still see the things they valued when I want without their stuff taking up my space. Peace & love to your beautiful family. 🌱

Long time viewer here and love your content. Your cookbook and recipes have helped me in my transition to veganism 8 years ago. I know that you didn't ask for advice but I just want to share that you do not have to feel responsible for everything that you inherit. I have inherited many things after losing all of my grandparenta, my father and my sister. I realized that i had to let go of a lot of things in order to live in a space that I could afford. My home is only 700 square feet. I also realize that just because I leave something for my son, doesn't mean that he is going to want it and i dont want him to feel obligated. One of my most cherished possessions is this beautiful mid century modern folding living room table that my gramdmother got when my mom was like 9. I saved my money and got it refinished and my son hates it. It's not his burden to keep my stuff in his home for the sake of keeping heirlooms. Those younger kids want to be more minimalistic and often more mobile without stuff weighing them down. Keep what you love, give the kids what they love and sell the rest to finish your dream kitchen. I bet you'd be happier with more room to move in there.

I love your transparency and realness. Are both your son's and son-in-law's names Sean?

Thanks for the tour Janet, what a great idea. I often see a snippet of something and wonder what it is or why it is in the kitchen and now I know. You have an engaging quality and are so easy to listen to. So happy to have found your channel, your family and the community you have built. Much Love 💕

Oh! Hello! I love your intro!…I have “The Fall Pumpkin Porch Decor,” inside my home, as well, now that we’ve had the latest cold snap, here in North Texas, simply w/the idea of keeping it out of the cold, and comfortably warmer. It has a name, of course…its name is Scar-Face (from a natural imperfection).

Enjoyed the tour of your kitchen. A suggestion for your glass ware, you should just keep a few pieces and give the rest of them to your girls, why wait until you die. They can keep what they want.

Hellerrrrrrrrrrrrr Janet... I look at your cupboards and am so in aweee you are so organized so jealous... I remember when you kitchen was bright RED... I don't have the cupboard space as you ... I just buy and cram lol... hahaa love Seanie... i remember when Rudolph and Clarice had to have their daily kisses lol... I always see your glasses up there and think ohhhhhh if that was me it would be so greasie and sticky lol... I would love a steam oven to never turn on my oven again would be so awesome... when i use mine i have to pull out all my pots and pans... no counter space for anything...I am so worried about the insta pots I just remember growing up with the pots that would explode... I would get one and not know how to use it cuz I am so dumb to read the instructions... Maybe I should have Iris come over and help me lol... I say that kiddingly but its so true lol... I do have a dishwasher but i couldn't put it where there is a cupboard so my friend yrs ago gave me her roller one... I hated it so I now have my microwave on top extra countertops lol..ohhhh wait I could use the inside to cram something lol... but I would forget about it in there so maybe not... I think my kitchen is called a galley one,,, tiny but it does the job... when its only me ..perks of being single hahahaha...thank you for the tour :) much l.o.v.e.

You do need a bigger kitchen but it looks like you are able to make it work for you. I couldn’t keep everything my parents owned nor did I want everything. Just don’t have the room for their things and mine. I understand that you want to keep the heirlooms. I had to recently go through things to organize and I wanted to get rid of some stuff I don’t use so my kids don’t have to deal with it. As you know it is a lot of work.
