Keep in mind that the rising of the sea level probably happend the same way the last meter did, which was followed by a planetwide earthquake and tsunami, now image 200 of those. most building wouldn't be in one piece anymore. furthermore they suffered from roughly 800 years of erosion and sea beast. so not finding traces of civilization under the sea would make sense.

People need to understand, when both American, Japanese, French, Argentenian, etc. comic writers write chapters, they use a technique called "writing for the trade" which means, they very specifically write story so it reads better in trade or tonkobon volume format. If you go back and read dressrosa, it reads amazingly as a volume. Chapter by chapter though, may not be the best experience.

That's great & all, but it does mean that the initial release is in a sub-optimum format. And the initial release is what most people will base their reactions on & their memories on. So if they are writing it to be best read as a ~10 chapter volume released every 3-4 months, then that's how it should be released instead of weekly.

@@ravenfal1496 well, in American comics, it's usually a 6 chapter arc. Manga are done a little differently, but yes, I agree. The people reading it weekly in manga format, or monthly in American format, don't necessarily have the best week to week or month to month experience. At least manga comes out a lot more quickly than American comics, And uses the "cliffhanger" ending a little more frequently, like old marvel comics used to do. Trying to create a self contained story within a chapter while building to something more. One piece has just gotten so large that it's near impossible to do now. But in your overall premise, I agree, being a weekly/monthly reader is very rough indeed at times for fans that love to keep up with it the second it drops.

Might not be the place for this comment but I want to share a theory. Because Vegapunk was not able to reproduce Logia powers, this means that S-Croc will probably have a new devil fruit instead of the sand sand fruit. I think he will end up with the Chop Chop fruit. 1. Buggy was imprisoned in impel down and became a warlord, so they should have access to his bloodline elements, 2. It would be comedy gold because Croc would be humiliated, Mihawk would be annoyed because he can’t do shit to him, and Buggy will be devastated that a chid uses his devil fruit better than he does. 3. this could also contribute to buggy’s development as an emperor. He could learn from S-croc on how to use his devil fruit in more effective ways. I really hope this happens.

I say IMU has three possible devil fruits if not more and his appearance can reflect this as well which is why he is shadowed. So a few ideas for this theory came up from people discussing his crown having three points and the three other gods being mentioned (God of the Forest, God of the Earth, and God if the Rain). Now this sounds a bit farfetched and I’m not fully into it, just like the concept but hear me out for a little while. Oda loves to foreshadow and we see arcs usually reflect one another to some extent throughout the series. Now I want to bring up Water Seven/Enies Lobby as a reference. Both arcs have the strongest version of the CP groups stated in their respective release dates (both having Kaku and Lucci). Both involve and individual that just wants to know the history of the world that the world government is targeting (in this case they couldn’t save Vegapunk unlike they did with Robin, but they did save a female who required help in the case of Bonnie). Both involve the Bustercall and also involve Giants being used to help the crew out as well as both arcs involve an ancient weapon but in this case the world government already has a recreation of one where in Enies Lobby they tried to get the blueprints to recreate another. Some subtle references that help connect the two but something I want to say is the fact that both arcs started with the water level increasing and reveal the fact that something is sinking (the worlds water level increasing compared to Water Seven being under threat of flooding then us being told the world will flood in this arc as the strawhats headed back to Water Seven after Enies Lobby which then had Iceberg saying how he was going to combat the island being flooded). This popped out to me a bit more as we can see more reflections in both scenarios. Then we can look at the island which no longer exists and Enies Lobby which are now just both holes in the ocean. More connections but none of these connections explains why I believe that IMU has three devil fruits. Now to get to that it is a weird reference but remember Baskerville. This massive figure that was of a high caliber to the marines in this arc that was then revealed to be three men in a costume. I find it humorous to say this but he might play an important part in showing that IMU is three people. First thing is the status and appearance in this arc. That plays a role but the name Baskerville was actually multiple names combined from the men. IMU is three letters, what if each letter is taken as meaning three hearts or that he’s a combination of three individuals (in a more serious way than Baskerville), I M U. Now people can point out that only the right was Kerville and the left was Bas but who was the middle?? Well of course his name is Princess and not just any Princess but specifically “The Princess” which was a funny little gag joke, but also it had me think about how IMU is obsessed with staring at PRINCESS Vivi. Random little connection but also wanted to state it as an idea to foreshadow and knowing Oda I wouldn’t put it past him to put a massive foreshadowing moment inside such a joke character. There’s more to the idea such as IMU has to be a villain that one ups the previous villains and one of the final villains Blackbeard was confirmed to have two devil fruits and it would be a fun nod to have IMU have three instead. Then there’s the notion of his crown having three points in every aspect that we see him. I also believe IMU has some devil reference to him such as the fact of his demonic tail piercing Cobra and demons usually have more than one heart although higher ranking demons tend to have around seven hearts. Also just a little something I know you GrandLineReview man will like is the fact that Blackbeard cannot sleep and he has multiple devil fruits and being tired usually means your eyes can get irritated and can make your eyes look bloodshot and what color is IMU’s very open eyes who don’t seem to have ever gotten a wink of sleep in the past hundreds of years?? I rest my case! Seriously though I like this idea and there could be more foreshadowing that can come out about IMU having multiple devil fruits and multiple hearts, but once I connected the dots here it became humorous and knowing Oda who just wants to have a good time with his story then I can very well see it being the case (also there can be references made to the Gods referenced and how it’s reflected that each is related to the government such as rain powder being controlled and banned by the Government, to an admiral being able to become plants and make a forest, and as well as the WORLD Government itself ruling the World. Each plays into the Rain God, Forest God, and World God).

I’m not sure milk fixes teeth in the one piece universe, but they certainly do when close to a luffy who believes it does who has eaten what is literally the toon force fruit. Luffy has been doing toon force stuff way before awakening. Taking on shadows to become nightmare luffy, metabolizing food in seconds, healing wounds from meat and beating logias by spitting water

I think you've missed a beat with the traitor angle for the speech. Throughout the rest of the speech Vegapunk was clearly thinking about Luffy, both in his discussion on the ethics of who killed him, in talking about Nika's/Joy Boy's fighting style, small but specific details were dropped which indicate Luffy was on his mind. I think the rest of the speech will be about Luffy in some way.

I believe that the theory of the leders being immortal is gaining points. They talk as if they weren't there 800 years ago, but recognizing the iron ginat as "the one to attack marine jois 200 years ago" but not anything to do with the ancient kingdom, saturn is exactly the same as in the kuma's and robin's flashbacks etc... To me this sounds as if for the lass 800 years IMU has been handpicking usefull nobles (maybe the leaders of the holy knights) and tracking the Ope ope user to perform the operation in them. That way IMU would have attained immortality in the void century but the rest would have been getting it at various different points throught the recorded history (if humans can live arround 140 years in one piece we could have garland being like 100 years and the gorosei being all 5 previous leaders of the holy knights) and their order in the solar system could be the order in which they were picked (warcury, nusjuro, mars, ju peter and most recently saturn)

About Blackbeard, it's a common practice in film making to insert small inconsistencies to create a feeling of suspense (Great example would be "The Shining"). People usually dont notice actively but subconsciously and then the subconscious creates stress hormones trying to alert us of potential danger. I might be tripping but I could imagine Oda doing this with Blackbeards teeth to creat this feeling of suspense, when we see him. Also about the Milk stuff. Was it ever shown fixing teeth besides Brook and Luffy? And did it ever fix Brook when Luffy wasnt around? I read somewhere that Luffy's fruit emitted it's reality bending effects according to Luffy's mind prior to gear 5th and that cause the Milk actually fixing stuff. It was stated several times, that Luffy used his "gomu gomu no mi" in ways rubber wasnt supposed to work.

I like the idea of the pretender theory because it also fits with the official French translation of « mo ». I was thinking some time before egghead, that there could be some kind of " traitor" amongst the "D" users. My point is, that Luffy is the actual traitor, but not in the sense of a bad person but actually a "D" that's not part of the ancient kingdon. Think about: IF a lost kingdon has fallen, It's descendants would be hella mad for future generations, right? The person that matches the most that line Is BLACKBEARD. HE IS the one that knows most, Is internally angry and has a grudge against something big in the world of one piece. Regarding Law's ship, The Polar Tang, not being able to withstand the pressures of the sea floor: it doesn't have to, the lost civilization is only 200 meters underwater, not 10,000 meters where the seafloor and Fishman Island are. Also, sunlight can reach 1,000 meters under the sea, so it wouldn't be so dark as to be pitch either.
