Thank you so much for the kind words! It still feels surreal that so many people have been liking this AMV for all these years. BTW it's actually been around 16 years. I finished this AMV in 2007 and uploaded it to AnimeMusicVideos website and then in 2011 I uploaded it on KZbin. Good old days! :)

As for the DB Super, I haven't watched it much really (because I don't like the new age art style too much) so I can't tell if he contributed much there...

Barney Toastmaster sure but that's why it feels more awesome when he actually does contribute in a major way! Because after such a long time of him failing, once he finally succeeds and contributes in critical situations it makes it all the more goosebump-inducing :) At least for me. I like when all characters of a show have their moments, and that certainly happened at one point or another with virtually every DBZ character. It's only natural that the main character is glorified the most though, and I'm ok with that because I admire both Goku and Vegeta in their own way.

Barney Toastmaster there's no chance of that happening; also Dragon Ball Super has already emasculated the franchise beyond redemption. In nicer terms: it has been reduced to a digital "slice of life" series that completely lacks artistic value, maturity, sophisticated themes, clever writing, & any/all elements that contributed to the greatness of Dragon Ball & DBZ. However I absolutely agree w/ u 100%; Vegeta's character is deserving of his own (time to shine) rather than always being used as a mere catalyst all the time. The doujins make excellent fan stories, but in this day & age (and this goes 10 fold w/ the creation of DB Super) whatever charisma Vegeta's character was known for in the 90's is BEYOND EVANESCENT.

That's one of the best compliments I've heard. I am so glad my AMV could make someone motivated to workout and live healthily. I myself used to do a lot of bag punching and some grappling (and still from time to time workout but way less intensely, as I don't have much time). I myself have used a lot of music to motivate myself about doing various things and I'm so glad that my AMV has became that same thing, that source of motivation for someone else. A really great compliment indeed. Keep a great job, and whether you surpass your friend in workout or not, you should know that you lost nothing, as working out can only benefit you.

Wow! This is definitely the best compliment I've ever received! I am dead serious. To think that a piece of work that I made back in 2007 (truth to be told, through blood, sweat and tears because of my OCD pickiness about each frame in that AMV and my terribly slow and damaged PC back then), could motivate someone on the other side of the globe to get out of the dark times and start living more healthily...feels surreal. I am so happy to hear this, I am genuinely stunned. I guess the history is repeating itself :) Because another AMV and song as well as DBZ itself have been equivalent for me, and they helped me get through my toughest times (severe depression) and motivating me so much through both my childhood and adulthood! Coming back to this after many years. I love how the grid 3:22 is pretty much all losses, because Vegeta's humilation and perceived failure as a warrior are a huge part of his character, and it doesn't make him any worse of one. Amazing AMV.

I'm sure you already had these thoughts when you made the amv, but still: you took an underdog that trains like hell to achive his goals. He keeps grinding and grinding despite almost always getting his ass kicked. That right there makes for a perfect rollmodel when training. I watched this amv when it first came out. I remember how pumped I felt. Vegeta was my first favorite character ever since I was a little girl, and will remain one of them to this very day. This will always be the best and hardest AMV edit for me of all time. It even introduced me to Static X, a band I really love even now to this day.

Yes, I'd rather be Goku too, because of the personality for sure! However, from an artistic point of view (the visual side) I'd be happy to look like either Goku, Vegeta or Bardock and even many other DBZ characters such as, Cooler (final form), Brolly, Raditz, Gohan SSJ2, etc. :) I always look at cartoons/anime from an artistic point of view :) I couldn't imagine DBZ not having this awesome spiky, sharp-edged art style. That's its trademark! And that's the only reason why I never cared too much about Dragon Ball Super or any other DB footage drawn in a new-age DB style. I talked about this on my blog - nookforthoughts.blogspot.com But hey, tastes are different and that's ok :)

Tanks Matthew! Well, you see I'd gladly do so, and in fact whenever I have some spare time I teach my little cousin a bitabout video editing. But that's all really briefly, and from time to time, it's more giving him quick tips and answers when he asks me something and I happen to be relatively free. So unfortunately I am unable to do it, because I have a job, I do freelance 3D, I do a lot of things at the same time and it's basically impossible for me to spend any more time than I already do. But I will definitely tell you what you need to do in order to become a good video editing professional someday. 1.Obviously you need a passion for making music video and video editing :) But I assume you already have that, since you're interested in learning it :) 2.You need a decent hardware (decent for video editing standards) 3.You need an industry standard video editing software (such as Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas etc) and to learn how to use them, and there are a lot of extremely good tutorials available on the internet, that will teach you everything about a particular software. 4.You need to learn the basics of how video works and what video really is, such as: what are the basic building blocks of a video file, what kinds of video formats and types of video compression exist out there, what formats/compressions are useful or more suitable for a particular situation/platform, what is the losless video compression, what is the lossy video compression, what is the resolution of a video, what is the framerate, what is the aspect ratio..... I probably forgot few more, but more or less when you understand those concepts you'll be good to go :) 5.When cutting scenes from your source video footage, make sure to convert it to a format that is going to be friendly with the software that you use. For example, if I remember well, for this AMV I compressed all my clips cut from the original footage with Lossless Huffyuv codec, because it worked well with Premiere (at least at that time, and as far as I remember :D) plus it is lossless, so it didn't lose any quality, which is exactly what I wanted. 6.Planning things out: Whenever a good idea for MV falls on your mind, remember that scene and the song that spin together in your mind, write it down if needed, and then slowly through time your idea will grow in your mind, step by step, scene by scene, and so at some point, from having a rough picture on what you want to make, you'll get a very clear one, or even 100% complete idea of the MV in your mind. Once at that point, go ahead and start making that MV, and modify it as you go, allowing new scenes and corrections to take place if you think they are better than the initial scenes. Of course you can always make random vids as you learn the software, but I prefer planning things out, because I usually start working only if I'm really motivated and satisfied with a MV idea that fell on my mind. But hey, that's a matter of preference :) And that's really all there is to it. I know it may sound overwhelming to someone who hasn't been into video editing previously, but trust me, it all comes of quite painlessly if you just relax and play with video editing for a while ;) Good luck and feel free to ask me if you need any additional tips! :)

Thank you very much man! I'm so glad you liked it! Well I don't remember precisely, but I'd say it took me about 2-3 months. The main reason it took so long was the fact that I'm very picky and want to make every frame of AMV the way I planned in my mind :) The other reason was the very poor hardware I had at a time (it was 2007).
