Lace cornbread, panfried ham, some white rice with redeye gravy (cooked off of that ham), zipper peas or Butterbeans, homemade biscuits, and sweet tea.

Since they are dried, are you harvesting with a grain combine?

I hand picked some of the crowders today around lunch, about to go cut okra now. I believe when I get full hands crew in the purple hulls I can put 1 or 2 of them in the crowders.

Interesting brown crowders, haven't heard that variety. For carolina crowders those are still pretty short pods. Ours grew from 6-10 inches typically. Cool video, jealous of that field

How did you keep the weeds down in your pea field?

Pre plant incorporate treflan. Peas are planted with very tight in row spacing in warm soil so as to germ quickly and shade out competition. They were plowed once before they shaded out the middles. There is a good current shot of them in video I will be uploading today or tomorrow. They are now a solid mass that is waist deep.

I had a small hand crew skim some this morning. They’ll pick again Thursday and Friday and then it’ll be wide open for 2-3 weeks.
