That robot has a 360* camera continuously scanning for a 30 m radius. For me I would say that robot taxis are very going to be way safer than actual drivers because of their visibility and reaction time. Think about it, If every driver is automated people could be even be productive in their own car on the way to their work/school/destination because every robocar would be interconnected with full information and drive totally safe.

Auto driving car has at least several laser radar if not tens of, it can detect any human error of others cars and acts rationally to minimise the risk. We've got to trust them and just enjoy😊

China will adopt driveless taxis and autonomous vehicles nationwide in the coming years. China is pushing automation in a variety of different industries, using AI and robotics. It's one of their strategies to counter population decline coming in the decades to follow. Western media often says that China is doomed because their population will decline, but they completely forget about technology, and how it can combat such problems. China even has artificial wombs(yeah I know sounds crazy), so they could theoretically grow more babies if they really need to, but I think China actually wants the population to decline so they don't need use so much resources anymore. China could be the first nation to adopt a Universal Basic Income nationwide with the mass adoption of AI and robots, it's possible.
