I became WFPB vegan in March 2022. It’s now one year later and I have lost all 70lbs of excess weight I was carrying. I feel amazing and now enjoy exercise (running a mile or two is easy for the first time in my life), I enjoy the food I eat and I eat so much of it, I’m always full and satisfied!! I no longer have constant headaches, dizzy spells, heart palpitations, aches and pains, or heartburn and acid reflux. I haven’t been sick once in the last year even after taking care of my sick children. Honestly wish I’d had this info decades earlier, it’s the best change I’ve ever made! ❤

I lost the initial weight just by excluding animal products, no "dieting", I eat more food than I did when I was eating meat, dairy, eggs, etc, and my weight is finally getting under control. I went on several "diets" as an omnivore, and never lost more than 5-10 lbs, despite being strict about my food intake. Being vegan has been freeing. I still watch what I eat, but eating pizza (vegan pizza, of course) no longer causes stomach cramps and worse, and I can eat until I am full, instead of always being hungry. I eat the same number of calories that I did on my "diets" but since I'm eating fruits and veggies, and not calorie and cholesterol dense and nutrient deficient meat, dairy, eggs, etc, I get full. Like honestly and truly full.

I do, and I also avoid honey, leather, silk, and wool, since veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose. It was like "why tf were u starving me like this for no reason" Also quite funny when the video starts about eating too often, the vegan diet is notorious for people eating constantly, snacking of fruits etc. While meateaters usually don't even think about food, they eat their breakfast at 12 and a 2nd meal sometime later and don't even think about food. As say they here, processed food is the main issue, processed red meat, processed hummus or beanpaste, ice cream and crackers, salad dressings, fruit juices and sodas, cereals and granolas. I used to eat meat and dairy but thought I was eating a healthy diet. I did drink soy milk, but got scared of soy so I quit. I then started using whey protein powder to try to gain muscle. I then developed a lump in my chest. Breast cancer in men is rare, but possible. I went to my doctor, and he put me through a series of tests for cancer. I researched what I could eat to help my chances. The documentary "Forks Over Knives" convinced me. I dumped the whey and switched to a mostly Whole Food Plant Based vegan diet. By the time I was supposed to have a biopsy, they weren't able to get a sample, because my lump had shrunk so much. I felt so much more energy on my new diet, I kept it. I'm vegan for nearly a year and a half. No regrets, whatsoever. I just have to get my binging under control. I have a very long ED history, and it's been extremely hard to stop binging my feelings and let go of vegan snacks. 😢 Sometimes it's not as simple as saying that eating processed foods is making you fat. Sometimes it's that you're so unhappy with your life that food becomes your best friend and "savior" from the pain you feel in your soul. That's something that also needs to be addressed and considered on the way to maintaining your health.
@boltingpuppies5 жыл бұрын
Have you ever read about Yeshua (Jesus)? I mean, really read about God in the bible? The whole book is about how we were created and the fall of man and also how God promised us a Savior from the beginning and eventually Yeshua came to earth and will come again as also promised. You can have a personal relationship with him and He will quite literally be your best friend and never leave you. If you step out in faith and read the bible and ask Him to make himself known to you, He will. No joke. Once you know Him you'll know what I mean and you will have the joy you are looking for. God bless you in your journey.

Awesome channel! I was eating a lot of peanut butter and fatty foods when I first went vegan. Sure glad I came across this channel and the McDougall diet. I'm glad I've made the switch before I ran in to any health problems. What's really crazy is when you show people that are killing themselves with their diet this info and they choose not to care and keep on chowing down on dead animals.

Did you find a healthy alternative that is like peanut butter? I am still eating a lot of peanut butter and new to all this.

is peanut butter bad?
@inscrutable674 жыл бұрын
Just to clarify, peanut butter isn't bad but it's easy to gorge on and eating fattening foods generally makes you put on weight. Natural peanut butter without extra additives in moderation is healthy

Facts and logic destroy carnist nonsense every time
@LouisGedo6 жыл бұрын
Eugeniusz Potaszkin , The reason why Facts and Logic Destroy Carnist Nonsense Every Time is because carnists like you make absurd, unsubstantiated claims and fallacious arguments all the time. You claim that "soya 'sausages, burgers mince' " (whatever that is) are harmful.....so now prove that absurd assertion with scientific studies. Trust me.....I won't be holding my breath. As for your ridiculously fallacious appeal to 'only if it's beneficial to me' ("healthy"), the same thing could be said of torturing, exploiting, enslaving, and raping children....doing those things can certainly be beneficial to the perpetrator but that doesn't mean that needlessly harming other sentient individuals (whether those individuals are chickens, goats, pigs, aquatic animals or humans) is morally justified. Besides, your appeal to 'only if it's beneficial to me' is an appeal you'd immediately reject if you were the victim of someone else harming you just because they could get some benefit from doing so. Yet again we can all see that...... Facts and Logic Destroy Carnist Nonsense Every Time.

@Eugeniusz Potaszkin , you're projecting again....I already explained how that just makes you look foolish. But maybe you like to look like a fool.....who am I to stop you from wanting that. Buh bye

@Eugeniusz Potaszkin , Awww, you're so cute when you get all triggered like that....does it hurt a lot? Can you do it again for me because I enjoy being entertained by triggered carnists like you. Have a nice day, dear.

@Eugeniusz Potaszkin , Predictably, facts and logic destroyed your carnist nonsense every time. But don't hate the messenger.....just stop relying on carnist nonsense for every argument you spew Have a nice day.

I became plant based in 2018, 5 yrs a go. And i am in menopause. I dont suffer any symptom, i feel great, no diseases. I dont eat any meat, only fish. My meat are beans and chick peas, which i love! I feel great. And i am amazed with the huge amount of plant based recipes that we can do. I dont buy sugar, salt ( i use vinegar, lemon juice), bread (i do my bread with oats,..),meat. And the most important, i know what i am eating!! I do what i eat!

When you talk about the 'health care system' you are completely missing the mark. You are right though in calling it a disease care system. Doctors are not trained to improve health. We are trained to deal with sick people using either pharmacology or surgery. I don't think we had one lecture on nutrition. I've told people to exercise and eat right just to be met with resistance. There is no profession which is in charge of keeping the masses healthy. Don't make the mistake of thinking that is what medical doctors have been trained to do and are expected to do. Staying healthy does not need a professional. One can put it in one line; eat a wide variety of whole, plant-based food and exercise vigorously regularly. Nobody can make a living out of telling people to do that.

> Nobody can make a living out of telling people to do that. My experiences disagree with that. In an ideal world, I think what you say would be true. But then, at least in my ideal world, I wouldn't need to "make money". Cheers.

Thank you I enjoyed this now historical documentary, as relevant today as it was 15 years ago, lets say that out loud, 15 YEARS AGO, I can't believe we still have such a huge problem convincing people to go plants, but I do see hope, there is a movement. Thanks again everyone in the video and the Nelson's!

have been mostly plant based for 20 years. The hardest times are holidays and celebrations. What can replace birthday cake and Easter candy and Christmas cookies? This junk food is ingrained into our culture if you do not partake you are weird. If I had known this when I was raising kids I would have raised healthier children. As it is I am in my 60's and healthy, on no med.
