Went vegan a few months ago (from being a vegetarian for years) and I couldn't have made a better decision in my entire life :) For my health, the positive energy I take in from plants, for the millions of animals and the planet around me.. It's a beautiful, compassionate, and a very humbling lifestyle and I can only wish that all of us unite in adopting it :)

My family and I just watched your documentary tonight via Amazon Instant Video - awesome. Empathetic, reasonable, humorous, scientific. I've been a vegetarian for several years, thinking cage-free eggs were okay. Having Ellen make the calle to the 'organic' farm was eye-opening. Thank you for the nudge to never again support that tragic industry. Great trio of participants, too!

This movie is the reason I became vegan! I am blood type O, and I became vegan by following the blood type diet, adding in nutritional yeast. After being ovo-lacto vegetarian for a number of years, my health was already very good. After becoming vegan, my sense of well-being gradually increased. I got fewer zits. I just felt better. People commented on how pretty my hair was, how the skin under my chin was firm. Being vegan is healthier for me, and I especially like not being involved at all in the abuse and killing of animals.

Allison Edwards I have had a vegan diet a few times. I how however acknowledged the fact the humans are biologically omnivores. We don't need to consume meat. But we can and it not be unhealthy. It is the industry that is evil. Hunting is the only ethical way of obtaining meat. It is important to watch documentaries that provide various perspectives. What are your thoughts
@DaProHobbit

What's the point of hunting though, when we can live even more healthily on a plant-based diet? Agriculture was started as a means of cultivating and harvesting plants efficiently and effectively for all of us, but we went and took it too far by introducing animals. We've now destroyed the planet so much that the only way to improve things is to change to a plant-based diet.

This award winning documentary inspires and challenges us to improve the quality of our lives and our world! It's food for the Soul and a gift of inspiration for humans to make a shift to a kinder world. It's a must see for everyone that is trying to have an authentic life. It's a great icebreaker because of all the humor while delivering a difficult message of what happens to the animals we eat.

Thanks, everyone, for the amazing feedback on our trailer. We're submitting to festivals now, and our premiere depends on which festivals we get into. We're shooting for a Spring '11 premiere, then hitting more film fests and veg fests around the country this summer. Fingers crossed for some sweet distribution deals and bringing the film to a cable channel, community center, college and even movie theater (gasp!) near you next fall!

I became a vegetarian in 1986 and recently became mostly vegan. Then I found this documentary at the library. I thought I knew the argument for veganism but this movie shocked me, especially the footage about the "organic" farmer telling the truth of how the animals were treated and slaughtered. It looks like a concentration camp for animals. Dang, I had tears gushing out of my eyes. I'm glad that I'm in the good company of Gloria Steinem and Gandhi in going plant-based.

The trailer makes the film look nicely balanced. It is difficult talking about food and eating issues because it taps into our culture, traditions and plain ol' habit. Most get defensive at first, a natural reaction. We don't want to be told what we have been eating for our whole lives has so many negative effects (health-personal and public, environmental, animal and human rights). A gentle delivery is a nice start. I am a 1yr vegan, so will be fun to see how these folks make out!

I've been pescetarian for years, and recently dropped dairy products as well. My skin looks amazing! And I am no longer bloated. I have more energy and feel less sluggish. I eat almonds every day (for calcium) along with a supplement and get vitamin D by being active outside. I get protein from pure peanut butter, fish (locally fished I buy, it's so fresh) and lot's of quinoa. It's honestly my secret weapon for staying in amazing shape! Wow, what a great concept. How many similar responses would we hear when posed with the question, "could you go vegan"?. Asking a group of people to change their eating habits, layering in emotional support, dietary consultations, animal education, etc., is an amazing way to relate to the majority of the population. This film seems like it educates people on all of the aspects of a healthy and cruelty-free diet while providing encouragement and support. Bravo Marisa!

I've watched too many food documentaries to count recently, all of which steered me toward Organic, GMO free, cruelty free, all that hullabaloo... then I finally watched this one, despite being as adamant that I would never give up meat as the guy in the trailer. I'm not vegan as a result of this film, but it was the final push to make me go vegetarian. The factory farming industry needs to be disassembled, completely.

This is what's hardest for people trying to figure out what to eat because most of the stuff they are used to eating contains some animals. People need examples of meals like quinoa past with asparagus, olives, sun dried tomatoes and garlic or veggie tacos with a nut/seed cheese. Veg pizza with no cheese is actually super good.

@sonoki82 i wend cold turkey vegan 15 days ago, and so far not even drooling when i see meat, cheesecake or any other non-veg foods. It really depends on your cultural and social diet. I am south indian in america and since there are so many south indian vegan options i am used to its not difficult for me. However, on an American diet that requires the use of milk, egg or meat in something or the other, I suggest that you use substitutes such as Ener-G eggs or earth balance butter. Its not hard.

Don't get me wrong - I am with you. What I can't get out of my head even now days later is that haunting scene of that person throwing live baby chicks into a grinder to make feed for other animals. What tragic circumstances s/he must be facing to be forced to do that for a living. I think that the issue is also about the frosting and the oreos and the processed foods that take us away from a life where factory farming doesn't exist. GMOs don't seem as far fetched when our food is industrialized

I have been in the struggle for a year now. I personally have not bought meat of any kind, only a few ítems of other kind: Cheese, milk, eggs. Yet, watching this movie made me cry so bad. The horrible things that happen to the poor animals!! The worst is that even if I go vegan their suffering will not stop. Many more will die. This industry and their money hungry owners will bring the end of the world upon our children. So sad feeling so powerless. I know I will be vegan because I can´t stomach being part of the reason we have slaughter houses.

I feel the same way, its sooo sad that they have to be tortured and killed,, its just wrong in so many ways. I blame most of this on the Bible.. because in the "bible" it talks about how animals are here for our taking.. not that everyone is a bible thumper.. but alot ARE.. and so this goes way back , and now is a industry for money making, and they dont give a dang about how the animals are treated!! at ALL.. their life means nothing but MONEY.. .. but I know some people that have their own farm animals that they kill and eat.. I try to tell them that they dont have to do that , but they always tell me, "god put these animals here on earth for us to eat, and thats what i am going to do.." the dang idiots.. WELL .. one of the 10 commandments also state "thou shall not kill" it didnt say WHAT.. right?? just dont kill !!.. bless the animal hearts...
