I used to use the time lapses because I could get one build in one video. KZbin is not a job for me so I am not concerned with income or views from it. It originally was just a way to sell the finished cars. Now it is just a fun hobby for me when I don't feel like doing rebuild projects after working on cars all day. Since you guys like the series, I will do some of the bigger jobs like this but they will be boring everyday cars. No Vipers or GTRs here unless I find a buyer beforehand. Maybe more trucks since I still need one but they are getting so expensive they are not worth rebuilding because there is no savings. Thanks for watching!

Your way of rebuilding vehicles is better and much easier than straightening body parts like most do, the bondo lovers. Although I no longer buy wrecked vehicles because of the time that it takes to make them street legal again, I will use your techniques if I buy one in the future. @@vehcor yeah, made specific items like that are literally one time use. Same as a drywall lift. Sure, if you're a drywaller you'd use it all the time but how many times does a homeowner drywall their ceiling? lol. I saw a video where they simply put tie down straps onto the bed tie hooks and lifted it that way. But if you want to lift one from the top rails, you could easily make one out of 2 x 4's on the vertical for about $10.00

I never question what others do with their time. It is your time, spend it as you wish. There are people that think this build is a waste of time but to me the huge savings over buying a used truck are worth it. Thanks for watching and good luck on your project! Carpeted wheel liners are all the rage now! All the cool kids have them! 😁 On a more serious note though, many manufacturers are using these now as they reduce road noise. I recently did something similar to these on my '06 Silverado CC on the front and the rear. 4db decrease in noise in the cab after installing them!

Great job and catch on the hidden bondo job. They were definitely a bunch of clowns, even left you some rocks to prove it. My 2014 had cattails jammed behind the front wheel-well when I was looking as to why the step bars were bent. Must have had the truck buried in muck but appeared to be a soft, sudden landing so they decided to leave it for me. I bet that was a wild last ride for them. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

I understand it is for sound deadening... but on the bed? I could understand if the wheel well was in the passenger compartment like an SUV, or even the front wheels which would be a stretch. Who is going to hear the road noise in the bed with all that wind noise? I suppose you could put a cap on it and then it would be a concern but who is riding in the bed? Human trafficking victims? Is GM worried about their quiet ride? It holds all the dirt and when you wash the truck, all the dirt just keeps coming out... forever. It annoys me. lol Thanks for watching.

Looks good!! Cant wait to see the finished product. And it looks like a lot of work. I just got a 2017 LT 1500 from auction. And unfortunately it has frame damage and GM does not make a replacement part for where the frame is bent. I am hoping they will be able to bend it back. I don't have your enthusiasm to replace a whole frame.
@vehcor
@vehcor 5 жыл бұрын
Aww come on, the frames are the best part! lol I would love to just do frame swaps forever, on commission of course. I always figure a frame on anything hit in the frame or suspension because they have basically made them unrepairable at this point. Thanks for watching and best of luck on your build!

@@stephenbuttars9220 Try car-part.com. I also look on ebay and sometimes you can get lucky and find someone parting out a truck on FB or CL. The headliners are hard, junk yards destroy them pretty quickly and new ones are expensive.

Started watching your videos when I found them by mistake, now I look forward to them and learn quite a bit about how these cars are put together. I have to change the bumper on my '17 Silverado...am I able to leave the brackets and separate the bumper from them without lifting the bed? I have to do the job mostly solo.
@vehcor
@vehcor 5 жыл бұрын
This truck brought a lot of people to my channel. Glad to have you with us. You can remove the bumper and leave the brackets but you have to remove all the plastic to get to the bracket bolts I believe. If you remove the last 4 bed bolts and get the bed up a half inch or so, you can leave the brackets on the bumper. Thanks for watching.
