This long to "develop" a system that they previously had and removed (daily bonuses). They only tweaked it a little and added in grind and restrictions (maxed tree gatekeeping and new vehicles).

Yeah. A much simpler bonus system could be the following: For every tier of a nation's tech tree you purchase at least one vehicle in other than the first tree you started with, you get a 5% bonus to the total RP, module and research. Each subsequent tier unlock grants another 5%, these stack indefinitely until you run out of new tiers to unlock. Premium account, boosters, premium vehicles, and talismans all further stack to the total after this bonus is calculated. Say you start in US tanks. Then you realize you need US aircraft. Upon purchasing your first Rank 2 plane, you get a flat 5% boost permanently for all further research in all trees. Rank 3 aviation adds another 5%, and so on to top tier. Unlocking Rank 2 Coastal Fleet would give another 5%, as would Rank 2 Bluewater. Helicopters also count in an analogous manner - since they require Rank 5 Air & Tanks already, purchase your first one to get the first bonus. Any other nations add successively in the same manner. The more you play the game, the easier research becomes overall.

I really do hope the bonus will stay for nations I already have the top vehicle in. A month ago I got the 122B+ and the ito 90m and I want to grind to the cv90120 but I’m all the way back at the first Ikv in that line. A bonus would make it much easier to be able to research the entire tree so I can get good lineups

The way the bonuses should have worked is a progressively increasing one for every subsequent tree you research, every newly unlocked tier adds a further stack. Without a limit. For example, say someone starts with US tanks. Unlocking any tier in that gives standard research rates. Then he learns he needs US Air to compete properly. Unlocking Tier 2 aircraft gets a 5% research bonus to the FINAL RP amount for all subsequent research to either tree. Unlocking Tier 3 aviation nets you another 5% stacking bonus. Tiers 4-8 give another 5% stacking increase apiece. Helicopters could count for another pair of 5% bonuses. Then going to another nation grants similar bonuses from Rank 2 onwards per tree. This bonus never expires, and is meant to reward longevity in playing the game in many nations and trees. While I wouldn't advise the following bit, snail would like purchasing of a Tier # premium to count as unlocking that rank to encourage sales of those premiums. To keep premium account relevant, give it more practical benefits instead of just economic boosts. Things like unlimited map likes, dislikes, and bans, for example.

It’s a nice start but a lot more needs to be done. One of the major hurdles for war thunder players is just getting to top tier in the first place. Especially when only playing free to play. This only helps those who’ve already gone through the grind but leaves a significant portion of the player base still high and dry

Glad it's here, not the system I would have put in and it's pretty complicated but it's here and the rewards are very significant. This will help making griny extra trees a lot easier for a lot of guys I appreciate it. I would have just done a flat research bonus for every tree you have completed, but I was always thinking like 5% and then it like stacks with each tree. But the numbers that they throw out even though it's only you know five times a day it's still very higher over what I thought they'd give.

The bonus is still absolutely nothing. Even with researching a rank 3 (apparently 25% bonus) for a 30k total rp game all i got was 1400 bonus lmfao (was researching the rank 3 zero with the rank 4 a7m1 premium, it was a 7 kill game). To me the bonus was 25% of the skill bonus which was around 5600. So it didn't come from the base xp as it was originally.

I happy with this especially when it encourages more people to play more nations. But for me my major hurdle is spading vehicles in additional nations. I’ve spaded a fair few vehicles in just 2 nations. Trying to do the same in other nations just gets frustrating fast.

Ok sure but for a 420,000 RP vehicle that means that the grind is reduced by roughly 84,000 xp, and if you're stock grinding and get the module tier research rewards that's 60k reduced as well. You're playing just over half the total matches compared to a full grind now.

No, it goes by last vehicle in a line so you'll need the Azur to get the bonus. The BR thing is only for lines that end before rank 8, so like I think the French light line ends at 8.7 theat line will not get you the bonus. Also during the test they extended the trees and any vehicles that got the bonus had a line under it going to nothing.

i still dont think the first 5 matches is a good idea. you basically gotta use the bonuses in your warm up matches and if you basically flunk and get like 1 kill in a match and thats it then you're SOL for a whole day. they should've done it where you can apply the bonus once the match is over so you can choose to apply it at the results screen so you can get the bonus for match you want to benefit from and not when you log in for the first 5 matches

Hot take: Gaijin should focus all of their development time on QoL, maps, and bug fixes rather than new vehicles. At least until the game is in a better state. Not saying the game is in a horrible state right now, but it still needs a lot of TLC. Take for instance my gun sight reticle constantly disappearing in ARB if I radar lock someone. Even when you release the lock, the gun sight doesn't come back. Also open back up map flanking routes and actually fix the problems with the maps rather than just cutting out access to places. This would also let the Art and model design team have a bit of breathing room to cook, rather than have pressing deadlines for vehicle releases. I also fully acknowledge I'm not a game developer and these opinions could be completely wrong.

Vehicle research bonuses don't matter. You can research a new vehicle passively or actively but you'll always eventually get it. Module research is what really needed a bonus and this is even more important at higher tiers when you're stuck grinding 200k rp for your tier 4 apfsds ammo. Hope you love HEATFS! I get that you're trying to encourage people to play other tech trees but there's ways of doing this that are more interesting than just a rp boost - like actually adding interesting vehicles to the nations tech tree to entice people to try it out.

If you completed Sweden ground then you'll get a bonus for only the ground trees in every other nation. You won't get air bonuses unless you get a top tier aircraft or vessel for naval bonus

this is complete garbage, the bonus is nice but only 5 battles, the only justification for the grind taking forever is to learn and slowly get onto the other players levels at the higher BRs, and the contradiction is you can already see lv 100s at the very start of the game, and if you have top tier they know that you have proven that you are on everyone else's level of skill and gaijins only lets the bonus last 5 battles, so you have proven that you know what you are doing, you've already suffered through the agonizing grind once, and gaijin means to tell us our reward for the pain is only and I mean ONLY 5 battles per nations with a boost, the boost should be minimum like 20 battles, or even permanent for everything. so, gaijin literally has no justification for making the boost last such a measly low number of battles, the only sort of thing that they could do to justify making it only 5 battles if it's at minimum a 200% boost from tier I-III and 500% for tier 6 and above

Sry but this Patch is again 2 Steps back and one forward. The Research Bonus is laughable because its 100% of like 30% you get making like 1-3k RP extra. What BS. They nerfed SL gain in Naval in Secret, as if they havent ruined Naval enough already, especially since the Matchmaker is completely useless for months now. It was never rly good but the last weeks and months its almost unplayable bad especially balancing teams does not work at all and whatever you play full uptiers 90% of the time means in Naval you basically cant do anything. Also the System is not working at all. For Nations where i need it because i dont have any top tier, i dont get the bonus. But for other Nations where i already have a Top Tier Vehicle the Bonus is avaible. WTF Its like Gaijin not testing their stuff.
