Too heavy compared to a 911. Means it's going to be dynamically worse. Also that interior with that big screen just isn't it for me. Very good looking car from the outside, but if I had to choose between a GT63 or Turbo S, I'd choose the Turbo S any day.

Turbo s is 300k+ here in eu while this is about 220k .. big price difference but the porsche would hold its value in resale much better tho

@@moazahmed5063 In the U.S. the AMG GT63 S E Performance starts at $200k and the 911 at $230k. And after optioning them out as I'd buy them on the configurator, the Turbo S comes out at $255k and the AMG at $240k. $15k difference. And yeah, once you consider resale value (assuming you want to sell the cars), the Porsche is definitely the better investment. On the other hand, the starting price of the non S 911 Turbo is exactly the same as the AMG at $200k, and I think that's a better buy too.

@@JustSomeGuyWithNoMaidens that’s a false comparison. If you compare the GT SE or Pro then you are in GT3 territory. Those are track versions and very specific/ limited use configurations. If you spec those up to being fully loaded, which is what a 240k GT is, you quickly get into the 300’s. If you configure side by side the 63 and the 911 turbo S the Porsche lands in the 10-15% more expensive range. Not much if you are spending this kind of money on a car. The real comparison to a 911 is the GT 63 to the Porsche Turbo. There are really 2 deciding factors. Firstly, as you say if you want a garage princess for resale and an occasional weekend spin then yes the 911 is a better buy. If you want a performance GT that is practical for weekend or week long trips to the lake/Shore the 911 doesn’t work, not enough baggage space. The 63 does. And if you want to be dull, slightly drab, drive the 911. You see them everywhere and frankly they are just a little bit boring. Basic. Safe. Every single bald middle aged guy in my township has one with the exception of a couple of McLaren/Roma drivers. Which brings another comparison, the GT is more comparable to a true GT, the Roma or Vantage, than a sports car. It really compares well price wise against those 2. So why not the 911? I drove all 4, the Roma is amazing and elegant but basic. The vantage a little bit the same and the tech is dated, plus it struggles to put the horses on the road. The 911 is predictable. Almost patronizing. Easy. Takes over most of the driving. Doesn’t allow mistakes. And it has a flat 6 which will never have the theatre of a V8. Not playing the I would game. I did. This is far more fun than a 911 every single day.

Well technically it´s not a sports car but a GT car, so massage seats are welcomed in a GT car. A 911 for example is a sports car on paper

There are plenty of middling sports cars for that. Buy a Miata or a Z4. Jaguar F series was also good while it lasted. This isn’t that. It’s a GT.

@evan.c43 I have, on many occasions. I'm pointing out, much of what he is saying, is found on most cars these days. The quality is just better with the Merc. Nothing really has that "wow factor" with it.

@@johnnyturbo8460 Yes, same type of features, I agree. But like you said the quality of the features is where you see the price difference. For example, cameras, screens, operating system, fit and finish, materials used, etc.

@evan.c43 That's the thing. I'm not sure i can agree with a huge difference in cameras, screens or the operating system. In my experience with the Mercs, there touch screens are not as fast as it feel they should be. Cameras are no better than Cadillac, Lexus etc.. I will give them better fix, finish and materials. Just nothing mind blowing or over the top "special". Even the style and interior (example : the air vents, dash shame is quite similar to a 2018-2019 E63s. It's time for more of an update) yes the screens are new, but not amazing. Love the car, don't get me wrong. Just doesn't blow me away like I feel it should.

@@johnnyturbo8460 and it won’t until you live with it. So much more engineering and thought goes into the Germans versus Asian and American cars. I’ve driven so many different types of cars and hate most operating systems. Lexus has pretty nice interiors but I can’t stand their infotainment and other things about them. I’m with you though, modern cars lack character that cars even 10 years ago had. When you got a luxury car, it was more than just the driving experience, it was EVERYTHING combined that made it a better car, versus now it’s just a few noticeable differences *besides the drivability* that separate the brands. Almost every manufacturer just slaps two screens inside and calls it a day now.

@@lflyr6287 it’s kind of funny. That screen is only in the SL and GT. The SL first had the screen in 2022. Important difference between the two being the screen tilts in the SL to adjust for sunlight in the convertible. A quick search and chat with Mercedes yielded 0 cases of a cracked screen. Now there may have been some in 2021 before the first SL came out, maybe they broke them on prototypes?

@@IanTheCarGuy I am not talking about the SL alone. In general in Mercs since they've started with these middle infotainment screens....there have been numerous cases of these screens cracking....in the A, B, E, S and C classes of different facelifted models since 2020.

@@lflyr6287that isn’t even a major problem unique to Mercedes. All infotainment screens can be abused and broken. A better criticism maybe then is I don’t like screens. They can crack. That’s fair. I don’t like buttons because they stick. Especially with ketchup.

Not better then a 911 by any margin, it's too big, extremely overweight, significantly worse then the previous generation, interior options basically don't exist, no downforce even on the highest spec model, you can't get rid of the pointless back seats. Everyone agrees Mercedes has ruined what was their best model. I currently own a gtr pro and a few 9's. I've driven the new 63 and it's like driving a neutered m8 around, it's not a performance car anymore

Yes totally agree, I'm so glad I have the previous model too. Merc has ruined this model, I agree it looks nice, but that's the only good thing I can say about it. Even then, the old one looks nicer!
