I was going to purchase a 2024 Toyota, but I changed my mine because of the 4 cylinder engine. Buying a 2023 Honda Passport with the 6 cylinder engine.

Just purchased the 2023 passport touring edition (Canada version of elite I guess?). Main reason was because it was the largest SUV we could fit into our garage (had to be less than 16.5 ft in length). Other options we considered were the Mazda CX-50 but it was a tad cramped inside for us and the Pilot, which was too long though we loved it. This will be my wife’s car and we needed the extra space because we have our first baby on the way and though my wife warned me of this, they to my surprise need a lot of stuff from baby seats, strollers, etc. I read a lot of comments on this video about the design/tech dated but when I think about it, we are upgrading from a 2006 civic DX where our tech was a FM Bluetooth transmitter 😂 so I don’t think we are going to notice. Also, from one point of view having the mature model from a generation isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In theory it may mean that they’ve worked out nearly all of the kinks so the car should be more reliable than a first year of its generation car with upgraded changes. All in all we are happy with our purchase and hope to get a decade plus of reliable driving out of it.

@@popaki9484 So far I love it. No, there is no heads-up display. Look at KIA, Hyundai, and Ford Explorer, before buying the Honda. Looked at a Pilot first but determined I didn't need the 3rd row.

@@ChefDuane I have looked at Hyundai and I love the Palisade but I dont know how reliable it is and the calligraphy they are charging and arm and a leg for! 4-8k over MSRP. Does the passport have ambient lighting? I wish it had some cornering lamps

@@ChefDuane at the moment I don’t need third row either. But it could serve as storage space. I fell in love with the palisade but the mark up I was not willing to pay and they just got recalled for catching on fire. Too many problems with them still. I’m happy to hear you love your passport

Same. I got mine June 30th. Realized the 3rd row is unnecessary for me. I just liked the size of the Pilot. I’m happy they showed me the Passport instead… plus the Pilots weren’t ready for the lot. I got super lucky.

I'm actually waiting on the '24. One, Ill have a big down payment. Two, the new 3.5 will make it's way into it along with the 10 Speed. It burns 40% cleaner and you get a bump in power. Three, I'll give up my Pathfinder. I don't need 7 seats.

in terms of inside noise hearing the wind how is it compared to mazda cx5 or cx50. ive driven cx5 and its pretty quit. good acoustics. compared to my curent rav 4 which is noisy. would love to hear ur opinion on the passport or crv

I feel ya’. We had a 2019 Jeep Compass Limited with panoramic sunroof. Loved it until 35k miles when it developed a serious leak @ left rear corner. Jeep covered repairs (36k warranty) BUT, 6 months later, same leak reappeared and corporate Jeep didn’t want to cover it (dealership caught in the middle🙄). After we threatened to file a complaint with state AG’s office under ‘lemon law’ consumer protection law, corporate saw the light and gave okay for further repairs. NOTE: We have not opened s unroof since and, while it hasn’t leaked (yet), we are looking for a SUV replacement that will likely include going back to a standard sunroof configuration above front seats. Something to think about.

Got a point. Honda has gone back in to re-map the computer after issues and complaints. The same ZF is found in the Pathfinder. Nissan had to issue and update as well. Is it much better than before and a good transmission, yes. I believe it still needs work. Honda got smart and created their own. They compared the Pathfinder vs the "23 Pilot. The Pilot won them over on drivability and response.

the button for gas door is a huge plus for me,.... some other cars has their gas door be oenned anytime or by anybody bec theres no lock even the car is lock, i cant immagine if someone open it and put fire on it

It has a huge gas tank. Everything is a trade off, you can’t get lots of space and excellent fuel economy. The V6 is awesome.

The new Pilot is way too big - can’t fit it into my garage The Passport is the perfect size . However I wish it had the new 10 speed transmission that is more dependable than the 9 . Many problems with the 9 . I wish it had the surround camera system that the pilot has as well . NO panoramic sunroof for me !!! I hate the one in the new Pilot . I am located in the south and the heat that it will generate inside the car will be unbearable. Why can’t we order an elite without any sunroof for those in hot climates ?? Large sunroofs in other manufactures cars are cracking or leaking as well .

What is new about the V6 in the 2023 Passport? Does it have the '23 Pilot motor with DOHC? The road noise does sound pretty loud but as you point out it's very much road dependent.

Just purchased. Love it, except .... has anyone else had an issue with the wireless charger for your iPhone? Dealer said (after the purchase) that it was a known issue and wasn't sure Honda could do anything about it? Surely, I'm not the only Honda / Apple consumer, or is this a rare combination. Thanks for any help, or any suggestions for connectivity (I have attempted three different phones, with and without case, orientated in various ways, but keeps turning on for 2-5 seconds then failing). Thanks.

I had the same issue on my 22 crv. I just bought the 23 passport last month and the same thing occurred where sometimes the apple car play disconnects. I received a notification that there is an active recall on that function.

@@popaki9484 it turns green and shows on phone it is charging for about 3-5 seconds and then stops, never to return. Unless you pick it up and go for another 3-5 seconds. We tried several phones, with and without cases, same thing. With car in motion and stopped. Just a poor charger, which is disappointing as I have purchased several "cheap ones" off Amazon for home and office, they have all worked really well. Wouldn't have thought Honda would have had an issue with it.

The 2024 did not get the updates that he thought they would, btw the infotainment system stays exactly the same, as well as the exterior style is exactly the same. The only thing that changed for 2024 is the center console, and the inclusion of usb-c ports.

It's a car that was discontinued once, and I wouldn't be stunned if it gets discontinued again. With the new off-road ready Pilot it's a car that just doesn't make sense. Especially since it's only sold in 5 seat configuration, while the smaller CR-V, in some markets, can have 7 seats.

I would trade someone for smaller wheels if I got the top trim. Maybe 18" wheels. I just prefer more sidewall for a slightly softer ride. Speaking of that, how is the ride? Is it a couch on wheels or is it sprung like an autocross vehicle? 🙂

Exl with 20’s is pretty nice. I would prefer 18’s but honestly the ride is still very comfortable and takes bumps like a champ.

DCH honda in san diego or in temecula in southern california are giving $2500 discount below passport MSRP, for exl trim or trailsport trim. Also, if you search online at auto trader or car gurus, there are plenty of year 2021 or 2022 used passport with low miles (10k to 15k miles) and they cost like $7k to $10k below original MSRP. Not bad, but you need to avoid dealer installed accessories or undesired warranty

Lots to like about the Passport, but it's quite pricey in comparison to competition and it still feels and looks a little like "Grandma's Car". 2024 specs have been published; another year of the tired old design. Dealer is going to have to come down seriously on price or I'm gonna have to wait till 2025..

Agree..I have driven, tested, researched and checked 2023 Toyota RaV4 (hybrid & reg ), Honda CRV (both Hybrid and reg), Pilot, Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, Volvo XC60, Subaru Outback and Ascent,. Mazda cx50 ..decided and bought 2023 Honda Passport Touring today as my main family vehicle ...pros: no CVT to worry about, solid Honda engine and transmission, better overall inside space, great visibility, simple & clear features and solid ACE structure anf feels.. cons: ok not as techie looking dashboard found in the futuristic looking Teluride but hey i..dont need to play videogames with it..
