This episode left me really conflicted as did upset me quite a lot ... but I like a lot of what it did and the new opening was fire .. But I really dislike the way they handled Veldoras return ... as it disregards world building consistency, world building that will come in this part of the anime later, and makes character act out of character ... With Belzebub Rimuru gained access to most of the skills from his subordinates hundred of thousands ... as it includes all the orcs ... sorting and optimizing this absurd quantity of skills to go through even for Raphael takes time .... in the novel it takes around 3 days {again with the 3 days this arc has a lot of that} At the same time Veldoras aura is so powerful that it takes time for him to to control it ... again it takes around 3 days for him to get it to an acceptable level. Veldoras aura is so powerful that its literally deadly for weaker monsters and most humans .... and even stronger ones would have issues exposed directly This is where we come to the first irritating out of character moment And Rimuru is aware of that ... especially with what the town just went trough, he would not have brough Veldora out of the cave, until he can suppress his aura ... as it would put the townsfolks in danger. There is no way with what just happened Rimuru would ignore this or make light of it. Besides the fact that Rimuru would not have brought Veldora out of the cave without him suppressing his aura, if he did such a blast like suggested with the super saiyan animation outside of the cave .... most of the plants around would have either died or became mutated by the amount of magicules released. The animals and monsters in the vicinity would by stampeding away from him. And the whole town would be in a panic with the Ogres and Beastketeerrs rushing towards the hill to figure out what is going on and if needed try to give the town time to evacuate .... As in the Novel and Manga {and the Trinity spin-off manga} even Inside the cave during 3 days Veldora was learning how to suppress his aura the flare ups were powerful enough to be felt in the City and making people nervous especially outsiders like the Refugees and the Beesketears as for them Veldora is a just a sentient natural disaster ... they dont have any concept of worshiping him as a protector ... The only reason they did not rush to the cave when Veldora was released and they felt the accompanying burst is because Rimuru requested no-one bothers him while he is inside .... And by the 3rd day they were ready to storm in anyway to find out what is going on. And so as Rimuru and Veldora are exiting the cave they see a crowd gathered at the entrance with Diablo blocking the way and a fight with the Beastketears, as they want to storm inside as they fear Rimuru might be in trouble with the Storm Dragon since no-one heard anything from him in 3 days only feeling spikes of Veldoras aura, is about to erupt while Benimaru is trying to calm things down ... If Veldora went super saiyan outside of the cave there is no way no-one would have reacted .... Also would have loved if they included some more of the scene from both manga and the novel. at leas these 2 short things 1. Veldora tells Rimuru, that during his naming sprees he was borrowing Veldoras magicule reserves to compensate when he did not have enough. Rimuru realizing that the reason he did not cripple himself with the namings is because even empresoned Veldora was helping him. 2. When learns he now has Uriel, there is a sweet scene where he states that Uriel is the crystallization the proof of of his Bond with everyone, filling him with a sense of strength and peace in the novel and Courage and safety in manga ... We also get an explanation about Spiritual Beings and their imortality here, but that is not as necessary ... Similar issue happens with Fuzes arrival and the subsequent scenes ... in the Novel and Manga ... Rimuru is notified before Fuze and his company even enters town, by universal detect, and we learn he is now being notified about almost every new arrival ... which is why after Raphael notifies him about Gazel arriving, he asks it to tone it down ... in the anime he does so after one notification ... as there is no indication of it being constant. the Anime even implies surprise when Fuze bursts into the room ... when Rimuru should be aware of him. It again a scene at the expense of Character and world consistency ... The town was just recently attacked by an armed and armored group of humans ... and here comes another such group... they would have been stopped by security before they could enter the town and and explanation demanded ... and when Fuze mentions they came to fight he would have been told its over before he gets to the meeting room ... so the scene does not make sense The Novel and Manga .... dont have this issue as once Raphael tells him about the group approaching town Rimuru goers goes to meet them outside of the town ... as it would not be the best ide to have them valtz into town after what the town recently went trough ... SInce this is a few months after the fact and you are past it I will also add spoilers for some S2 and above thing that this messes up bellow. Because Veldoras presence is so large as we seen in S1 when his disappearance caused chaos to erupt, his reappearance would be noticed, but because it all happened in the cave and there was no immediate rampage as all expected, there is a lot of doubt about what is actually happening ... and this becomes a important plot point for things that happen in the following episodes and parts of S3 If Veldora unleashed a blast of his aura outside ... there would be no doubt ... plus there are people that are specifically on the look out for Veldora ... the Western Church ... and sensitive to Veldora ... his 2 remaining siblings ... one of which we meet in S2 p2 Clayman is also snooping around Tempest trying to figure out what went wrong , and would immediately take notice of that ...

It's funny you guys mention that Rimuru should be as strong as Milim now.....the reality is, that Rimuru becoming a Demon Lord puts him(currently) at the bottom rung of the league of power she's at the top of. Theres still, around a dozen or so beings currently still stronger than Rimuru.

Sort of yes sort of no. Rimuru falls behind many in raw power. Spoiler: But if you pay attention to great sage/Raphael it seems that Rimuru is constantly underestimating his strength (mostly due to abilities). Rimurus tendency to hold back in fights to not reveal his true strength also makes it very very hard to definitively say just how strong he is. You really have to make Rimuru mad enougb to go all out to get a true idea of how strong he is 😂

Rimuru holds back sure, but he also later on in this very season acknowledges beings that outclass him in both power and abilities. His second fight with Milim, for example, shows that while he can "hang" with her better than he could in season 1, she was simply "playing" and he was needing Raphael to just avoid her killing him.

@@weirdo82 if your going to talk about spoilers use the spoiler tag and a gap so you don't ruin it for the reactors etc. Spoiler: In the Milim fight Rimuru was still holding back massively. He didn't use any of his own offensive potential (ultimate skill empowered storm magic) from Veldora lord of storms. Or use his massive defensive potential from Uriel lord of vows. He didn't want to show off to the other Demon Lords that he had 4 ultimate skills so he only showed 1 of them (lord of gluttony). He did use Raphael of course but that is because she is hidden in the background an is nearly impossible to detect. As for Raphael being a massive part of Rimurus strength. Yes she is. But as Gazel puts it, his skills IS HIS STRENGTH. It is just that Rimurus skill Raphael is more interactive than most other skills so it seems more separate from his own strength. Do I think Rimuru could beat Milim at this stage though? No, not If she went all out. But Rimuru is certainly stronger than it seems most of the time. And once he gets access to more magicules he becomes a true menace. Interestingky he is already at an awesome match up against raw power as Beelzabuth can just suck up all the enemies own attacks to keep him topped up energy wise. Of the demon lords the only 2 who he wouldn't absolutely destroy would be Guy and Milim. (He would actually have a harder time against Guy in my opinion as Milim is more raw power but less skill)

@@shaunmcdonough7844 Your first response literally had spoilers in it without warning. 😄 And when he was at Walpurgis, he recognized that there were several beings there, just as strong, if not STRONGER than he is at that moment. Diablo is actually stronger than him at that time as well, he just knows that Rimuru's going to become stronger than himself.

@@weirdo82 What event did I spoil? Because if there is something I spoiled I will happily rearrange it to hide that part. I deliberately kept things super super vague or referred to events that have already happened. I.e. Rimuru getting mad enough at Falmouth to use his full strength (At that point in time)
