Bit strange to compare the tiny Xiaomi 15 with the giant S24 Ultra in a stress test.
@VelianSpeaksTech4 күн бұрын
It's what I have, it's not ideal but even so, I wanted to try out 8 Elite in the smallest phone, as it's clear it will have heat dissipation issues and subpar cooling, nevertheless the perfkmecne per watt in real use cases, like gaming measured with Perfdog shows impressive performance at 3W-5W with stable 55-60 FPS ND ultra high graphics. So that's a good way to test performance per watt in that small body, before jumping to the bigger Ultra or Pro boys or even phones witch active cooling.
@gn0s1s4 күн бұрын
s25 ultra not out yet, its not quite apples to apples but its a good ballpark to show that thermal perf really matters even on the elite.
@VelianSpeaksTech4 күн бұрын
@@gn0s1s Agree. I got also some critics why I am not using the Xiaomi 15 Pro, well it`s simple, 2 things. I dont want to buy the X15P, I like small/compact form factor... And yes, doing it for the sake of finding out what will happens still makes sense to me. Especially when I get the Ultra in the big boys league.

@VelianSpeaksTech3 күн бұрын
@@stx7389 Absolutely. People jump their guns re the size, but size does not matter, if I could run those tests on my Nokia N70 I d do them, more over, it`s more fun to check the most powerful SoC in the smallest form factor as of now. X15 smashes Wuthering Waves and other like games, delivering stable 55-60 FPS on ultra high graphics with 3W-5W, this is is good, can`t be diminished by subpar cooling or physical size. Yes bigger size, more surface, better heat dissipation, but if it`s acceptable here, just imagine how good it should be with them vapor chambers and what not they ll put in ultras.

Didn't notice this really, the S23U still performs great
@user-ij8no5zw6u-4 күн бұрын
@@VelianSpeaksTech It does, peak power is still there, but throttling is very aggressive, I get 3d stress test to throttle to 50% and it used to be close to 70%. Battery temp is low and the phone is still throttling....what is that??
@DeepteshLovesTECH4 күн бұрын
13:38 Bit incorrect sir. You cannot compare performance per watt or efficiency without setting a target performance metric. You cannot say that S24 Ultra is more efficient with SD 8G3 than Xiaomi 15 just because S24U is using less power even though the Xiaomi 15 is maintaining 60 fps constant in the most demanding games whereas the S24U is throttling a lot and using less power. So we should set a baseline like 30 fps and see how much power each SoC takes to hit that target performance. Testing for efficiency without capping performance is meaningless.
@VelianSpeaksTech4 күн бұрын
I didn`t say the S24U is more efficient, it`s clear from all performance gaming tests that I did with PerfDog that even in that small body the 8 elite delivers better performance within 3W-5W vs what 8gen3 and 2 is able to deliver. And it`s also true that the Xiaomi 15 got the highest GIPS score for 30 min trottling test, the S23U throttled less than S24U and X15 and the S24U got the best average performance in GIPS.

@@VelianSpeaksTechgames never push the hardware to max only benchmarks do and throttling tests have to be in fair which isn't the case here because Xiaomi is a lot smaller than both samsung devices here. So, whatever those benchmarks related to sustained performance ( eg, cpu throttling test at the start of the video and 3D mark sustained performance..etc ) does make Xiaomi a bad phone here unless you test Xiaomi 15 pro which would have the same size as both samsung devices in this video which would be more appropriate. Even tho most games don't exactly push the chip to max one thing that these sustained performance benchmark sense in games will be is those games gonna drop frames or not and temperature would really high or not and since Xiaomi is here smallest one that wouldn't make sense here also

@@songoku9094 That`s not so accurate either as Wuthering Waves will sometime push the 8 elite to 14W, so most of the modern games are very GPU heavy, and some even use more than 30% CPU in average. I hate the trend of chipmakers of giving these chips so much power (watts), they don’t need it. It’s just worsening the experience of the consumers by having phones go up to 50 celsius. Just lower the wattage, and if the chip is more efficient it will do better and it will be more stable in stress tests

Well they are not great tbh, small battery, bad battery life also camera wise nothing fancy... But I like small and compact phones and the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 14 and 15 are just great! I had the Xiaomi 13 then the 14 Pro and when Xiaomi released the 15 with 8 Elite I was sure I am getting one! It has outstanding battery life, good display and speakers, haptics is okay, the performance is really great even the main camera is okay, being exactly the same as last year's Xiao 14... The only compromise in the camera is the zoom domain I guess.
