Thanks Conor. I think Charlie did most of the heavy lifting on this one though ;)

Thanks, very interesting and I love the collar with strength culture. May I ask which device that you use to give you ROM ?

Hi Iwan, I use a linear positional transducer. As of 2021 its the most reliable option on the market (camera systems are good too, but just so darn expensive!

@@vbtcoach Thanks. I think it might be very interesting to combine it with a device that also tracks bar path and see how that impacts ROM and lifting efficiency

@@IwanDierckx Many of these devices also track or measure bar path as part of the velocity tracking. Problem is that bar path is a visual thing, to my knowledge no one has created a number or metric for bar path specifically

This is top-notch content. As someone who has aspirations to get into powerlifting, this video gives me a lot of clarity. And what was the device you used for measuring the velocity? And is there any open-source alternative so that I myself can 3D print it and get it sourced. Thanks in advance.

Hi Harris, glad to be of assistance! I actually have helped co-found a new technology for measuring lifts. It's called Metric VBT and uses computer vision on your phone, no hardware is required. We are in beta right now, check it out here: www.metric.coach
