Velocity mixed use development in southeast Austin prepares to break ground in early 2021

I'm 5 minutes from the new Tesla Factory and bought my house out here 6 years ago. I was told back then that Velocity was about to break ground, there would be new retail, restaurants, and an HEB soon. Six years later, NOTHING. So odd to me that businesses don't seem to want to take advantage of the buying power of the 10's of thousands of folks who have recently purchased homes and moved out here. I have to drive 20 minutes to Bastrop to shop for anything. Anyone who thinks "Velocity" is "coming soon" is being fed a heaping pile of marketing BS.
