Swap in a unicrown fork and this is my exact dream build. Maybe one day. For now I'm good with my steel LWB.

and so quiet the way he has it set up (5:00)! I love to hear what is going on, minus rattles and pings and whirs.

Jeff, what size is this frame? And can you use a Rohloff hub with your eccentric bottom bracket bikes?

Just wondering what the final weight was without the bags.

What is the cost of this bicycle Mr. Jones? Is mud build going to be an issue when considering those tires in combination with the fenders? Thanks.
@Veloperator Жыл бұрын
Jones Custom Select bikes range in price from approximately $4000 to $16,000+. This one costs a little over $10,000. I have never had any issues with mud clogging up in the fender, as there is a lot of clearance. But It really depends on the type of mud.
@ellerybice3787 Жыл бұрын
@@Veloperator ok, I tend to get into the sticky mud that builds up upon the tires and itself, and then the chain derails ect. And then done I am. Montana Mud! 🥴

Jeff, why those tires? I have a new set sitting on the shelf because I tried them once and the self steer/counter steer was so bad I couldn’t stand it. 🤷♂️
@watertankhikes Жыл бұрын
Try the VEE Rubber Vee 8 26x4 up front if you really want to experience some self-steer. That said, the 29x3 T Fatty works fine as a rear tire.
@Veloperator Жыл бұрын
I don't feel any weird handling from these tires compared to the other knobby tires I use. I like how the T-Fatty has large and tightly spaced knobs down the center of the tire. They last longer, especially on the road, and still perform well off-road.
@sabamacx Жыл бұрын
Sounds like your bicycle geometry isn't designed around that tyre size. My Fargo accepts 29x3 but the handling is pants when running them.

Dropper post for feet down at stop light. Huh. Never considered that.
