All those high tier BBs are going to bounce the shitty SAP shells when they angle or go bow on. The angles they hit BB deck armor or bow, it means it will bounce. SAP 203mm may have 54mm penetration, but they STILL BOUNCE. People think of that 54m SAP Pen and think along the lines like they're HE shells. They're not. They get bounced, just like AP.

Get Survival Expert (works on planes too) and check the enemy AA ratings before the battle in the teams panel to find easy targets. Only go for tougher ships after they've been HE spammed.

So I spent 2 hours in training to test it's citadel and pen potential on all the tech tree BB's. Gonna be a long post but it's good info. Also all my shots were made on perfectly straight targets to the midship armor belts. Once any angling is introduced the results get diminished heavily Montana: Midship/ Armor Belt: .7/.6 and under got easy citadels, .8-1.8 gets Pens, 2.0 and up are shatters. Nose: All Overpens Rear: Inner 1/4 pens and outer 3/4's all overpens Republique (This one's interesting): Midship: Lower half all failed with torp protection hits, total fail. Upper half got Pens 100% Nose and Rear: Inner half got pens, Outer half all Overpens GK (Another odd discovery as it is very well protected from SAP and I struggled to damage them once saturated) Midship: 4.5km and under I got Pens 100% of the time. Armor did nothing to stop it, very surprising Nose and Rear: Inner half got pens, Outer half all Overpens Conqueror: Midship: 2km and under got Citadels 100% of the time, super easy. 2-2.4km got pens. 2.5km and up got shatters Nose: 100% Overpens everytime Rear: Inner 1/3rd got pens. outer 2/3 got all Overpens Yammy: Midship: Lower half got shatters everytime no matter the range. Even at 0.2km I couldnt pen. The upper half got reliable pens at all ranges Nose: Inner 1/3rd got pens. outer 2/3 got all Overpens Rear: 100% Overpens everytime Kremlin: Midship: Lower half got shatters everytime no matter the range. The upper half got reliable pens. Sadly, this isn't recommended as the 2 armor halfs are super skinny so you'd pry be getting lots of shatters and overpens. Nose: Got overpens 100% everytime Rear: Inner half got pens and surprisingly broke it's steering everytime with a half salvo When it comes to SAP and where to shoot I highly suggest you go into the armor viewer for all the tech tree line BB's and find the armor layouts for Premiums. The stats in game say the total armor pen for SAP is 55mm so anything at or under that armor wise is where you'll want to put your shots.

I don't think you're playing Venezia or Italian cruisers correctly. I've noticed this with every CC in general. They play the ships like standard cruisers. Italians do best on the flanks and crossfiring people, take advantage of the smoke to move up undetected on the map borders and do not fire until you get a guaranteed shot. If you can't, withdraw but stay on the flank to keep getting better angles so either they have to angle to you and eat damage from your team, or eat damage from you if they angle to your team. I play all Italians like that and I think they aren't limited at all, just they live and die by how well the teams do around them.

So, what you're saying is that the Venezia is like my Roon. No monster games with it but a lot of consistent games with around 75-90k dmg. My best in the Roon is 122k dmg and in the same game dodged and bounced 3 200 000 dmg. I came 2nd right after the Musashi that did 220k dmg. We were still close to losing that game.

But Khaba has 8 gun and Vene has 24 gun. yes, it can't deal dmg because of pen, but it can start fire. and noone expect Venezia to start fire. p.s. but accuracy on Venezia secondaries awful. i think it worst what i ever seen.

Interestingly, I've been finding that Kurfurst tanks better against a Venezia than the Kremlin does. Venezia's shell velocity allows for an experienced marksman to land pretty good salvo's into a Kremlin's bow, stern, or superstructure for those juicy 10k+ salvos... but I can't pull off the same numbers against a Kurfurst. It has so many Secondary guns on the side that they absorb much of the SAP's alpha damage, far more than the Kremlin does.

I don't know about soviet BBs because I don't grind OP crap... but man, that thing CHEWS other BBs apart Seen SAP damage salvoes of 10k+ on BB superstructures. Also, rudder shift might not be that good but once it starts turning it does so in a dime, or so it seems. Mixed with that speed, I'm yet to get a reliable feel for where the heck should I shoot at long range against these things...

It's not just the Torpedo speed, it's the range too :( I'm only up to Tier V, but this 5km Torpedo range has gotten me killed so many times it's not even funny anymore. You basically have to suicide to get a good volley off. I've ended up playing my DD as a tiny cruiser, just lobbing HE at everyone in range, then hiding behind an island or in my smoke-screen. I mean... I'm still doing some damage and helping with spotting, but feels shitty to play a DD and not be able to use torpedoes on anything unless you're hiding around some corner and an unfortunate soul comes around for you to blast to bits.

He was in a Cyclone, and the Montana was greater than 8km away. He could see the Montana still because his spotting plane was detecting it, you can see the Montana disappears once the Spotting Plane is destroyed, and later they spot each other when the 8km spotting threshold for cyclones is reached.

It actually did exist as a project, it a design of the Italian navy contemporary to the Des Moines class of ships to be used as an escort for the Littorio or subsequent classes of Battleships in the Mediterranean. In line with most Italian designs of the pre/during war period she lacks AA because Italian naval planners generally expected to operate where the Italian Royal Airforce could cover them, as they had the dodecanese islands, Sicily, Sardinia, North Africa, Crete and they fully expected to have Malta as well, therefore very little emphasis was ever put on anti aircraft defenses for most Royal Italian Navy ships.

As always I could watch and learn about the new ship through your amazing play. However, there seems to be a bit of numerical error in the video. Venezia's AP shell penetration is higher than any 8-inch gun in the game at mid-long range (more than Zao at its max range, although henry and moskva have much more pen because of their big gun. ).In general, Venezia can hit citadel on most cruisers that show their broadside around 15km range . But the AP alpha damage is the lowest of all 8-inch guns(4800)

Complete the Italian collection. 1 Italian collectable is in each Italian container. You can also then use Italian Navy tokens to get more containers.. they're about 30 tokens each. And then use duplicates to get the last few.. 16 items for the collection to get the captain.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this line is really underwhelming. A line of mediocre ships that can perform ok in certain situations and then a tier X that virtually requires a special commander. I'm not feeling much of an urge to grind this.

This line scales with the players skill level. If you are a average player than this will be a average boat, but if ur a very good player this line can turn into a devastating game changer. I'm a above average player and am unicum with these but that's only because I understand and can utilize its strengths and have map awareness. The times I get lazy with them I usually dont do much, it is tiring playing these just cuz you need to have full attention at all times. What other cruiser can literally take a full HP Fletcher down to 100 hp in one salvo. Lol that was a fun one, used islands to cut him off and had him at like 3km, think i hit like 13 shells or something crazy like that.
