Awesome place to visit, doesn't have to cost so much if avoid gondola ride (expensive at 80 euros for half an hour, you also had a rude gondolier from what we saw in the video), head for the 2 euro crossing Tragetto which gives a taste of being in a gondola. So much to see and do and lots of other islands to explore such as Lido which is nice to walk down to the lighthouse. Love your videos and looking forward to seeing more of Italy 👍🙂

I have been fortunate to visit Venice twice. First trip on season. It was a hot nightmare! So crowded and steaming hot! Line ups everywhere. Second trip was off season. So much relaxed, less crowded. The canal buses are much cheaper and give you a wonderful view of the architecture.

When you visit Venice, one of the most beautiful things to do and that I recommend for tourists, even foreign ones, is when you take the ferry or take a gondola ride to listen to Vivaldi's four seasons on headphones (especially spring or winter) and immerse yourself in the beauty and charm of the city. It is an unforgettable experience ❤💫💫

Venice will always be special to me, even if it is overhyped. I can't think of another city without cars! That is already an incredible thing to experience! I actually spent a lot of time in Venice because of work, and once you immerse yourself in the city and the people, you will find something so unique. It's true that it has suffered a lot over the year from overtourism, especially from the day trippers from these large cruise ships (THE WORST), and actually, this is a great moment for them to rethink their position in the world.

@@lenase7396 - No, the streets of Amsterdam are lined with canals, often busy with cars delivering to shops and pubs. The fact that a "pedestrian zone" is legally constituted in conjunction with the existence of waterways does not make it even remotely similar to Venice.

Beautiful. I visited the place in my younger days in the 80's on a Contiki tour. The city hasn't changed much and it's still as splendid as ever. Why no one played O Sole Mio when you two were on the gondola ride 😁😁😁 Heard about the floodings in Belgium, Germany and a few other EU. It's just horrible and glad to hear that your family and friends are staying safe. 🙏🙏🙏

We've been to Venice three times and have never taken a gondola ride. You both had a scary ride! Oh, in the very beginning of your video you passed one of the hotels we stayed in during our 2017 trip. Thanks for posting this video and bringing back great memories for me.

We have been to Venice twice ( once for Carnaval) and is one of our favorites cities in Europe.Highly recomend Dal Moro’s fresh pasta to go. Loved this one but for the local experience try traghettos rather than a tourist gondola ride, about 20ish people standing in a gondola crossing one side of the Grand canal to the other. I hope you give Torcello a visit but I really hope you visit Silily.

Venice is pretty, you will get some nice photo's. if you want to really enjoy Venice. 1. accommodation is better on the mainland. 2. don't stay on the island. 3. walk across the bridge and enjoy the sites. 4. water transport is tricky to navigate, walking you will see more. 5. eating, check out before you sit, they have city taxes, just to sit down and eat. 5. they have 2 menus, one for the locals and one for the tourists. 6. after you order hold on to the menu and check the bill against what you ordered. 7. you will get ripped of, it is just a case of how much!

Oh Im so glad you loved Venice, 1 of my fav city in the world! A lot of people say not so nice things but often they havent been or they were loaded off one of these outrageous ship that should never be there in the first place. Venezia is charming Beautiful Grand an exquisite city like no other! I've fantasied about buying a home there for many years...And making sure the hubby knows... How can you not fall in love with Venezia? Made me smile for sure...i'm glad you made a longer video🙏😉 For your information Naick i have in fact done some research and Venice is not as expensive as one might anticipate...Cheaper than London and Paris (yeah i know but its our battle ground im parisian he is English and we both love Italy, Mexico, Norway, Iceland)...and there are some Amazing properties that youd never think would be available (this amazing 🧐i cant believe its not unesco protected...ok might be a few millions but still ...lets say i win the lottery...i ll invite you to my venetian property i promise 🤣👊) Italy is always on top of my list with Venice and Firenze right at the top! I cant wait to see where you are going next... We went on a tour where we had only a day and a half to see Venice. We were recommended to see the other islands, Murano and Lido. We were going to take the water bus, but, like your experience, the weather changed. The water was so rough that canceled our plans, we didn’t want to risk it. We went walking instead around the smaller streets away from the main sights and large crowds, which was enjoyable and quite memorable.

I have been to Venice 3 times. It's beautiful but very expensive. They wanted to charge us 2 euros just to use the bathroom. But if you look around there are bargains to find like your expresso for around 1.5 euros. Just check the menu before sitting down. Many change a plate charge of 5 euros for nothing. But I would go back in a minute :)

I've been to Venice once and stayed there for only 5 hours. It's like another world 'cause everything's so truly epic and historic. However, it's too densely tourists occupied... You can pay Venezia a whole day visit but book a hotel in outskirt towns or cities that may save a lot and get an accommodation with higher quality.

I think that every city is actually overhiped, because it almost never reflects the stereotype we have of it. This phenomenon is also called the "Paris effect". You just have to enjoy the city without pre-stereotyped concepts. And in Italy it is very difficult to do ahah

Even when I went last month I didn’t care for the gondola ride too much it’s too shaky for me and mind you I went in the middle of June where it was super hot It’s easy for the boat the tip over in my opinion

thanks guys nice video!!!!!!! few advice for the gondola.... 80 is fixed but if you go with other you pay less....but i know is 2 is more romantic...... and the tricky way to try the GONDOLA is to try the taxi gondola they use for Change SIDE canal... with out use traget or boat bus...!!!!!

venice is deffinitly not overhype buy you got to remember every city in the world is hyped up and depending what you want. venice is not a dysniland with rollercoast, and other rides, its made up of art, beautiful buildings, and most important history.

Wow you certainly had an unusual gondola ride - the weather is to blame for that, but I'm surprised when the gondola rowed out where the Grand Canal joins the lagoon. Usually gondolas just row a short section in the inner part of the Grand Canal, definitely not rowing out of it where waves get stronger.

Hi beautiful couple. We are Peter and Becky from Florida USA. Started watching your videos since the time you were in Croatia with the budget challenge. We were wondering what was going since it had been more than a week since you posted from Turkey. We figured there was something going on. Well, Venice is a nice place, we were there to catch a cruise in November 2019, but didn't get to see the key attractions. Anyway I have a request: could you briefly describe the mask, entry requirements policy when you get a chance and maybe when you go to a new country? I don't watch much news these days because of the hype, etc. and want to travel again outside the US,. We have been getting the information first hand from friends, State dept. (but is so confusing sometimes) and folks like yourself. Thanks and stay safe.

for me it was really overrated prices are really expensive for the food and the boats most of restaurants close from 3 to 6 o'clock i don't really know why GPS didn't work good there but i enjoyed Borano Island houses were cool and colorful but overall experience it's not worth it

Venice is not overhyped at all, going out to the Islands is also a treat. the only things that spoil it is the tourists who would be right down over the pandemic period. Been to Venice in 1986 and in 2015 and loved it both times. Gondola's are expensive but worth it.

Also the only place in Central Europe I found that served a decent flat white was in Italy, everywhere else was hideous, espresso is good if on the go and cost half as much to stand and drink it than to sit.
