1. Villain is Andy Serkis 2. Venom is potentially alive since he leaves parts of himself everywhere (for example, at the bar in the beginning)

4:21 Look this is going to be incredibly stupid, but the film did explain it if you want an explanation Eddie’s a wanted fugitive as people think he killed Stephen Graham’s character, and his image is, supposedly, known worldwide. Supposedly, in his journalism days, he uncovered a story about a corrupted politician or something from New York, but it never went to press, so he’s planning on extorting him for safety I don’t know. Like everything else in this movie, it’s so stupid, but they do thinly justify it. I don’t blame you for forgetting; the movie drops the fugitive plot line pretty quickly

At this point, I'm solely judging the Venom movies based on action scenes and goofy dialogue and nothing else. The first one was a guilty pleasure for me, but even I concede that it was basically the cinematic equivalent of a bag of Twinkies.

It's definitely one of those 'turn off your brain and just enjoy the silliness of it all' kind of movies
@ImNotGregGraffin2 ай бұрын
The movie should’ve focused on Venom instead of boring non-characters spouting bad exposition. It’s like the trailer editors knew better than the actual filmmakers what people wanted from these dumb movies, which is Venom being silly

I haven't seen Venom 2, but most people I know said it was like the first one, which was pure action and loud, whackadoo fun. Tom Hardy looked like he was having fun, and it seemed to be winking at the audience in a "isn't this wild?" kind of camaraderie. It sounds like you'd enjoy the first one and probably the second much more because they're purely dumb without MCU lore having to be hammered into them to set up another film.

There was a time when I loved comic book movies. Then, much later, I was afraid that the long string of bad comic book movies would mean that Hollywood would just stop making comic book movies. Now, I just want them to stop making comic book movies.

The global opening of 175 million is utterly baffling, like wtf ppl were making fun of DC execs predicting numbers like this, or for Madame Web, but then this movie somehow manages to singlehandedly have one of the biggest openings of the year??? Jesus christ I haven't even seen that much marketing, or posters for it, let alone the last film came out 3 years ago, and Tom Hardy has done nothing since, and there's no other major stars in this film. People are just desperate for anything superhero I guess? Even when this movie literally offers no story?
