The Star Fox 64 Restored OST is one of the many results following the "Gigaleaks of Nintendo" from July 24th and 25th, 2020. Found in the files of the game were not only all of the uncompressed voice lines, but also uncompressed instrument samples for the music, as well as the MIDI sequences used in the game to perform the music. Using the instrument samples and MIDI sequences, I was able to recreate the entire soundtrack to Star Fox 64 in the highest quality we have ever heard.

The problem with these "restored" soundtracks is, while yes they are reconstructed using the original samples, they are missing nuances like reverb, which makes the original version of this track sound so much better.

Is the reverb and so on done via hardware rather than as a result of using compressed samples loaded onto an N64 cart? The voice lines as found on the cartridge are all compressed.
