Yeah it's very dependent on your start, i went like 30-10 on my windwalker and went to like 2230. I'm now 109-91 and 2150. My mage on the other hand is like 40-30 and barely getting any rating for wins now at like 1400. Just took a few bad games

New healer on disc priest and resto druid this season and I've managed to climb to 2200 on rdruid and 1900 on disc. Best advise I can give you is to min max your damage and CC to land kills. For instance on my priest I can mindgames/purge/mindblast/death the target of whoever I'm healing to make sure I never have to swap off of my healing target and I'm automatically hitting who they are.

I have felt so discouraged to even pvp as Moonkin right now. I haven’t jumped into actual 2’s and 3’s this expansion yet because I know exactly how it’ll go as boomy and I know exactly how much harder I will have to try against the current meta. It’s not fun. I played only solo shuffle this expansion so far on my moonkin and got up to 1900. 1900 isn’t much at all for me but I somehow ended up going 0/6 and then 1/6 back to back and that felt like absolute shit. Then my very next match, I was 5 for 5 and I was about to win my 6th round and someone ended up leaving. So I got no rating. I then went 3/6 my next match and lost 70 more rating because everyone was 100 rating under me??? Like 3/6 and 70 rating lost… come on man. I am now at 1650ish at this point from 1900. MY VERY NEXT MATCH ONCE AGAIN, I GET 5/6 AND ANOTHER MOTHER FUCKER LEAVES ON THE 6th match. So I miss out on two big wins I very much needed after multiple devastating losses. I ended up going to my next match with a 0/5 against the Unholy dk, Demon hunter and a one shot ret build. They trained me with very little skill and It just felt horrible. I did something I definitely don’t feel bad for because they were meta slaves but something I do regret and something I shouldn’t have done. I left during the sixth round out of extreme anger. I mean, I could only handle so much negative feelings that day. It was already a bad day as it is. I wish I just stuck out but honestly, fuck any of you abusing the meta. I did do the wrong thing by leaving though. It’s toxic all and all. It was the first time I have ever done that but I’m sure you guys can understand the pain I was going through. Each of these que times were an hour long too. To top it off. But I was just tired of it. This was a few days ago and I only logged into Tuesday to grab my vault item real quick before logging off. Haven’t played since. You going 0/6 made me feel a little better about myself because I’ve felt like absolute ass because of this. I should know I’m not the only one going through this. However, I will say I haven’t seen any other fucking boomkin in this game yet in pvp 😂

If you're a 2400+ player normally, really low rank solo you just got to turn your brain off, or down a notch. You would normally consider stuff like, not over extending, disrupting enemy burst, peeling for your mate, not bursting into a target that has easy answers to survive it. But at like 1500, I'm telling you. Prioritizing those things in soloQ will make you lose. You peel for team mate? He stands still anyway and just eats dam. You never overextend? The enemies aren't smart enough to notice anyway, so you lose potential pressure. Constantly ccing and disrupting enemy burst goes? Odds are they just used their shit off CD anyway, only the most dire situations really need you to go out of your way to knock back, root, stun and hex. And if you don't burst into a target that has reflect/ground/kick because at 2400+ people tend to use those tools to ruin your burst? You just miss opportunities to do insane damage on unaware opponents. Obviously you should not throw games on purpose, but if you MOSTLY focus on just doing PvE damage, you will out pressure average teams at least up to 1800. Healers are bad at being mana efficient. Everyone sucks at trading CDs. DPS overextend all the time. Nobody knows how to pull off proper goes with CC. The game is overall just less threatening, and the side with more dps wins.

I think we who dont leave games aswell experience this in the worst ways. if you are over 1400 people start leaving too. You win 4+ rounds without looseing and someone just leaves. If all left rounds counted i would have much higher rating i feel. Since i dont leave myself cause i want to play i feel like im loosing to the meta. Only games being scored are losses evens or mayyyybe a 4 win. More than that and theres a hard looser someware that will leave.

Solo shuffle is SO frustrating. I played my MMR down from 2k to 1.6k as a healer. It was way better playing at 2k and more easy as well. Now i basically play almost every game 3/3 Healersplit with one DD throwing most of the match. If I manage to get 4 WINS its +30 its I only get 2 WINS its -50. Playing as DD is so much more easy! I can get the 2.2k+, because i can make some plays happen. As a Healer i just stand there, try to land my CC and hope its enough.

I was on a good run for a minute on hpal after capping and getting full honor gear Sunday night. 1600 CR, close to 2k MMR. Then I had a rough lobby went 1 and 5. I'm a 2300 rating rogue in 2's. In solo shuffle I'm hardstuck at 1500, don't feel bad about not progressing in solo. It only takes 1 idiot and you can force a tie 99.9% of games if you are competent so you might be positive but your rating will just get stuck because it's so easy to tie by focusing the one inevitable idiot in a matchup.

First question: Is there punishment for leaving a solo shuffle game? I am seeing a bunch of comments about healers or whoever leaving at the 5/6 round. Which honestly, if there isn't much punishment or none at all, I see why someone would leave. As toxic as people are, ESPECIALLY now that there is a solo q then leaving becomes so easy because they get the satisfaction of thinking it is completely someone else's fault and leaving the game keeps them (whoever the toxic person thinks is causing them to lose) from gaining rating. Also knowing full well that they wont probably have to play with that person ever again. Kind of the same as an ADC in league leaving the game because they think their support messed up in lane. Ruining the other 9 peoples experience all because they are frustrated at one person. Now with that said, as a healer, I can 100 percent see the pointlessness of spending 20 minutes trying to heal people that are just zug zuging. This is the problem with solo q though so honestly, not much you can do. I zoomed straight up to 1800 and then have been hard stuck at like 1650-1700 after going 1-5 two sessions in a row. Although now, the majority of my games have been 3-3 where I have either lost rating or gained nothing. So it's literally been round after round of pointless ass games to gain absolutely nothing and it has been a waste of my time. Also have had it where I got 4-2 and gain 5 rating.. and then go 2-4 and lose 40 rating. So I mean what the fuck is the point of even playing if thats how it is going to be? A big reason for a lot of 3-3 games, from the healers perspective is after about the second game DPS start to realize who the weak one is, and considering its 90 percent double melee, they just get on that one person and literally zug them until its dampening makes them unhealable and it becomes a loss. So essentially both healers have to deal with this person (the weak DPS) on their team for 3 games and the healers literally cant keep them up. So everyone goes 3-3, while that one person goes 0-6 lol. As for an example as why people are leaving 5/6th round: So if you're a healer going into the 4th round knowing that this DPS is going to be on your team for the rest of the matches... well yes, you give it a try and keep them up for as long as you can, blowing every CD, going oom trying to keep them up etc.. NOTHING is dying on the other team, and its impossible to keep them alive because of dampening.. then come the 5th round... why play the final two? Just leave and move on? Right? Am I wrong for thinking this is probably what is happening?? I could be totally off, but just my thoughts..

So my experience with playing within 1400-1700. A DH determines whether you win or lose. I genuinely get sad when I see a DH in pvp. Anything else I'm perfectly fine with because I either go even or win. Both Fury and Feral right now feel about as strong as a wet paper bag.

For various reasons, two of the least difficult, most zug zug specs in the game are ALSO the hardest to peel and kill. If they’re gonna be that straight forward and simple with toughness baked into everything…they should be tuned as such that they get outplayed fairly easily. Right now it feels like it takes 10 globals just to peel one. And in the meantime they’re zug zugging their 4 button aoe nuke rotation with 1 hand while eating a sandwich and winning. I’ve played DH since Legion…it’s waaaaaaay too easy to dps, stick to a target, aoe and sustain yourself all at once with almost no tactical deployment. A LOT of other classes have to play like a blizzcon champ JUST to actually do all of those things in a match. Let alone do them easily and without much thought. Easy should be consistent and solid. But outplayed by skilled opponents…I feel like arms is pretty great like that right now. It’s pumps, but has very strong weaknesses to exploit.

This is why I stopped pvp after season 3 of Shadowlands. I’m not a glad or duelist player, I’m an 1800-2k player which I’m fine with. But the level of competition is so high you need to be pulling off 200iq moves at 1500 it saps the fun out of it. Arena is way too fucking sweaty now. I just pve now and tbh I’m enjoying it.

2.7k exp Rsham here. 1500 has always been more difficult to me than 2500+ and I will tell you why. In a 1500 or less que the players seem to do a lot arbitrarily, they double up defensives, they cc at the wrong times so its DR'd when you need it. Positioning is suspect chasing with no CD's for melee or not LOSing a range go. If you say anything to anyone in arena you are labled toxic and rude, even when asking questions like "why didn't you use this cooldown?". As the game becomes more scripted the higher you go its easier to anticipate the actions of the other team and be able to respond appropriately.

I can't believe this... many high rated ele shaman don't know how to burst with stormkeeper. And you know! It's soo funny to see them just casting SK, then lava burst and lightning bolts, wasting half of the damage potential. GJ :)

The proper burst is: SK -> Earth shock -> lightning bolt -> (lava burst if proc) -> earth shock -> lightning bolt. It's because you double the damage with Surge of Power (2 more overload) instead of just buffing with 20% via Master of the elements. It's even better if you wait for Power of the Maelstrom buff so you can have a total of 2 x 5 lightning bolts each cast (1 instant cast from SK, 1 overload from SK, 2 overload from Surge of Power and 1 overload from Power of the Maelstrom)
