YOOOOO Ven, been a fan, on an off subscriber for over the years. One simple question - is it worth starting pvp War Within now? I mean, the overall state of the game seems a bit off. I havent played wow retail since Shadowlands month 1, but the last time I played proper pvp was in WoD season 2-3. I've been mostly a raider ever since I quit PvP and I've been having thoughts to come back now in TWW but so far the overall your, Supatease and other videos, including like Bellular have not convinced me to come back to the game, rather the opposite, are pushing me to stay away. Would you say it is worth coming back to the game as a PVP player? Is it any good? I might be wayyyyyyy behind on all the pvp as the speed now is completely insane... I would have played Cataclysm PvP more as it was absolutely amazing, BUT I have a family now and it is difficult for me to shout with a 3s team on discord in the evenings now. I got to 2k on Cata, but I would much rather join the Solo Shuffle experience as it would require less hinderance for my family if I did that.

Reckful 3 in Cata will always hold a special place in my memory

To be clear, this is not a decision on Blizzards part to aid the player experience. In any way. This is as a result of recent WeakAura and other addons generating revenue through subscriptions (RestedXP, Fojjis etc). Revenue in which Blizzard is not getting a cut.

Change ELO to make it so that you have to do placement matches at first.... AND make all of the rewards a certain number of wins at a certain rank. If you rank up before that amount of wins you automatically get all the rewards from the lower rank.

@venruki i think they should do pvp more likely. a lot of player just play pvp for the mount or title. meybe the gladi mount in different collours would help.meybe same mount with bronze armor for 2100 rating silver for 2400 rating and gold for the rank1 guys. same with solo que meybe yellow orange and ret and for solo BG dont know blue purple green or whatever. i think more player can get the mount and will do it. if the mount is far away a lot of player stop doing it.!!!!! push my comment so he see it pls :D 2100 /// 24000 /// top 0.1%

Classic wow, first time play, no addons, was exactly that… fully immersive, satisfying and always some sense of wonder as the world opened up as you played. You had to be social, no lfg or lfr… always walking, no flying, really slows things down and puts you IN the game. Need ammo, pots, mana, pet food even or your pets get unhappy. Retail is far more impersonal and too easy. Switching between the 2 I remember my early 2000s self playing verses now and its not the same. You can tell Blizz devs put a lot of love into Classic.

what are yall talkin about? You update addons through curseforge, then use them. Its not forced. So many of you act like its ruining the game. AS a filthy casual i dont care one way or the other, pvp or raids. some addons help but its experience, repetition, one death after another thats how ya learn. if they take away my bartender addon i might just quit. Whats next? "Yea uh, macros are bad, mmmmk? we are gonna remove them all." No...go play your hardcore classic and cry when ya lose the pixel war.

Im in my 50s now, have slowed down considerably since my early 30s and WoW pvp, I still get the itch to be competition level elite. These days its fun to teach, when I have time to play. That said, man I respect people like Ven and their current skills!

Addons first became necessary because it was almost impossible to judge mechanics correctly without them. It all built from there. I have no idea if you were a brand new wow player and didn't have a whole network of support to explain everything additional you're going to need, how to now set it all and make sure they're all running correctly you will learn soon enough to really get anywhere in the game is impossible. The toxicity inside dungeons/raids also increases reliance. People expect you to always be perfect and pushing the bounds for DPS, you can get kicked, berated and everything in between. There is large, majority of the community that is great and helpful - but one absolutely terrible experience sticks with you longer than 10 that were helpful.

Shuffle is what's keeping pvp on life support. Participation has been going down for a long time on it's own, it's not shuffles fault

Solo shuffle and Bg blitz is the only reason i still play wow nowadays , after about 20 years of doing dungeons & raids i am just burnt out , pvp feels fresh to me since DF i never really played arenas before DF only casual bgs for a breath of fresh air , solo shuffle opened a new way for me to play the game and have a different experience the mmr feels ok to me i feel like i always play with ppl the same level as i am yea there is some are too good or too bad but it happens in all games

i hate belular, how ever his name is spelt. its very clear he doesnt play m+... at least at a high ish level. and that most of his points, as always, are from ''research'' which is funny, because he mentions poddyc in this vid talking about m+ and the problems it has, but when he mentions a qued m+, theres no word about poddyc talking about them getting surveys about bringing a qued m+... point is, he says things cant ever be balanced, they can be. they where till season 2 dragonflight. and i can go on, but hes just wrong... a lot of the time. overall, blizzard are doing a bad job with pvp and pve, which i do both, and honestly, pvp is way less of a hassle compared and thats odd to see

The rating system is becoming a joke. I literally got called a permastuck 2200 player (gotten 2k-2.2k most seasons)...by a person who started the game last expansion and got 2405-2420 (no higher) in SOLO SHUFFLE the last 3 seasons. I was telling them that I thought a BG blitz strategy wouldn't work and they went straight into a soloshuffle rank flex and searched out my achievements. I know it shouldn't bother me, but it annoys me that a broken system is rewarding some people and penalizing others, with no accounting for skill. It completely turns someone off the whole thing.

It's interesting looking at this, then looking at the numbers 3 weeks later and realizing that outside some very small adjustments for healers, This had almost no impact on the ladder.

Wow PVP has always been a hit. It *is* fun. Blizzard has just driven people away by paying no attention to it. The best games out there, that are 20 years old.. no matter how fun and great they are have lost most of their players since they don't get updates. PVP is like that in WoW. People love pvp. But imagine someone coming back to the game after 15 years to play WSG and Arathi Basin and the same old arenas... with a broken reward system, busted MMR and long queues. The best gameplay in the world couldn't make that enticing. Blizzard's current design *demolishes* participation. It's a system that by it's design, drives people away.

I agree with all you said But removing addons might disencourage pvp players to continue playing and I doubt it will atract new players to pvp But yes, I really enjoy the tension of playing withou addons, trying to track enemy cds. The way the gameplay becomes upredictable is what makes pvp really fun At least it's better than checking your screen while a 3rd party app "holds your hand" during the fight Game used to be more simple 12 years ago. Now there's tons of micro ccs, defensive cooldowns, shared DR's Idk what blizzard is planning to do about it, but it's gonna be a challenge and I hope they do the right thing because pvp is the only activity that I eager to log on to do

What I hate most in wow is all the spells they added like frost mage have rof and dB fury warrior have bladestorm etc. Can we remove some spells from the game reduce a bit mobility, remove random cc, finally buffs and debuffs you have soo many u can't track anything so much modifiers of course people need addon to track it to be optimal

All of its problems apply to all mmos pvp is the same 'gear'. 90 percent of mmo content is pve so you have to get to end game and grind 60 hours just for pvp to get a meta build to not get rocked. Mean while you are getting a one sided ass wooping until you get the gear. Not fun or worth your time.

Because of solo shuffle structure Blizz buffed healers, (OVERBUFFED THEM) u can see how they have tons of defensive cds. 2 Pain Suppress, Void shift etc. I used to main shadow priest and play double dps comps in 2v2. Now double dps comps are almost unplayable because of unending defensive/healing OP CDs healers have. And even fewer ppl play other modes. I have to wait 2-3 mins to find a match in 2v2 at 2.1k rating and its almost the end of the season. Shadowlands was broken pvpwise but at least ppl played and had fun. TWW seems fun as well except for the OP-healer design and that pvp now revolves only around solo shuffle.

I feel bad for everyone left in this game. That copium is so strong with y'all.

Rated PVP is fun, but the issue that has existed since it has been active has been keeping a group. Always having people drop, quit the game, rage quit after one loss, has really made the whole thing not enjoyable. As time goes on, people don't have the time to deal with the grind of keeping up socially in MMO's, which is how you really succeed in PvP (Yes, skill and experience definitely help with success, but social aspect is by far the most important. You aren't soloing your way to the top.)

Since shuffle was introduced in dragonflight pre-patch i was saying in general chat this will kill 3v3, now since they introduce Blitz in TWW + shuffle = 3v3 is totally dead, the reason for that is super simple the pvp playerbase got divided and THATS ALL lets say person with good exp in 3s searching for partners to push glad he cant find anything and in the end he give up, and start to que shuffle and blitz and perhaps mby even 2s also this divide make 3v3 even harder cos less people play = no mmr inflation and in the end at 2200 you will start playing vs multi rank1 glads and etc. Blizzard made shuffle and blitz with the idea to increase the pvp playerbase, but they dont realise that is not the case and they are losing that playerbase even more instead of increasing it !!! Lets all throw the fault on those streamers also who was advertising soloque before it existed and blizz listen to them

Yeah I finally started playing seriously in DF when solo shuffle came out and i didnt have to spend 95% of my game time in LFG and hit 2400 in season 3 and 4, and season 1 TWW i had 3 mages in the top 50 in NA for over a month, and couldn't break 2100 so i just quit.
