I for one........ welcome the new dimension Shannon, her pup and the van brings to this channel. Her video handling is real, the cooking clips are good and there is interaction between ya'll. Realize that ya'll have great content because of your location's, points of interest, personalities and dialogue so don't get too caught up on the negative comments about non-cinematic. Great video IMO and thanks for sharing.

I haven't seen a nighttime sky with that many stars in decades. I recall leaving Michigan for CA in Feb., 1971, traveling across the Texas panhandle on a 2-lane road (US 66), stopping to get out of the car after dark, looking up at stars from horizon-to-horizon for the first time ever, and the silence, and... kind of freaked-out: 'Felt like I was in outer space. 'Quickly got back in the VW.

Ballarat in (or near?) Death Valley was named after the site of the same name in Australia. There was a fair amount of movement between the California & Australian goldfields in the 19th century, including members of my family who were originally from Pennsylvania. As a result, I have some distant Aussie relatives living Down Under.

Wow there’s some negativity in these comments. Chris is an inspiration to me he hit some hard times in his life made a radical change and took us along for the ride whilst he found himself again. I’m pleased he has found a great new companion to share his adventures with. It’s a new chapter in the journey. I would imagine vault toilets are a big part of Chris’s day whilst his digestive tract adjusts to proper wholesome food 😂

For the past 4 or so years we were allowed to travel with a man hurting from what seems to be a relationship that turned sour and his attempts to heal his soul. It seems like he’s found a new soul mate and she’s been added to his travels. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out Orangey has been retired and will make a few cameo appearances before being retired permanently. This could very likely be the new Adventure 4wd.

Chris has said many times over the years that the locations he visits are more important than how he does it. All viewers are welcome to leave, but someone with Chris’ talent and guts to do what he did deserves to be looked at fairly and for what they are and not what they aren’t. This channel was only tangentially about Jeeps. He happened to have one with a camper and needed a new start to his life and he set off with it into the unknown.

You both (your co-driver especially) are driving with your chest way to close to the steering wheel. I don't know if you have adjustable pedals/steering column but try and get a comfortable position but with your upper body further back. If that airbag goes off with the driver that close its going to really hurt.

Yes. I noticed this too. Should be at least 10” from your chest. Spending this much time driving it’s worrisome to see them that close to the wheel.

I think most negative commenters are too comfortable to head off on a long term 4wd trip irrespective of vehicle choice. On another note, Shannon kicked off the vid with “Adventure is afoot!” just as Chris deflated the tyres. It came to my mind that while driving, perhaps the quip could be ‘Adventure is awheel!’? @@youngk.1838 I think he has 2 kids. What I find even funnier is he sees one of them maybe 3 times a year. It's ok he left them, to run around the United State because he, " didn't like the lifestyle he was living". IF he would have waited 3-4 more years he could have been there in person for his kid. Nope self-involved with his own personal goals instead of doing the right thing and sucking it up until the kids(s) were out of school. I have a 7-year old that I would never leave no matter how much I don't get along with her mom. As a parent, it is my responsibility to be there her no matter what. And I have been. I take her to school and pick her up, when she is sick I'm there all day until she gets better. I don't miss a thing. I remember a time when that was the norm. Running away to find yourself was left at the door when those kids were born.

@@nwpia Opinions. We all have them but we don’t always have the facts. We only know what we’ve seen or he said. We know his son is now college age, might be a freshman actually, and it seems clear that Chris didn’t have custody of his son. Just visitation. We also know his son’s mom, he never referees to her as his ex, was already married before he left in his journey. We’re not even sure he was married to the mother, but be considered her and her husband family. Sometimes the best thing a parent can do is leave and show that being happy is important and you can still be a good parent.
