Please do more of these fishing adventure videos, they are so helpful, especially with the POV view. Listening and watching the tips and tricks from the pod and masterclass videos is great, but getting to see you guys fish for an extended period of time in one vid is awesome!

Great video!! Idk why whitefish get so much hate, they're fun to catch and are an indication of a good healthy river!! Although I will admit trout are much prettier! 😉
@venturesflyco11 ай бұрын
Haha agreed. Whitefish are great! Easy to make fun of because of their weird looks.

Went to hobble creek last Saturday and got absolutely destroyed on that river. Snags, tangles, and a couple words I’m not proud of😬 gonna go try the Provo this Saturday and slay em. Thanks for the tips!
@venturesflyco11 ай бұрын
Haha hobble is definitely known for that. Had the same experience last time. Let us know how it goes on the Provo.

I've never caught a fish on a San Juan worm in winter. Plenty in summer and fall, but it drops off suddenly about October.

Wild… the San Juan slays for us this time of year. Haha.

You guys are awesome, any tips on keeping my hands from freezing. Glove recommendations ?
@venturesflyco11 ай бұрын
Appreciate it! Honestly… I’ve actually found gloves more annoying than helpful. They get wet, get in the way while stripping in or releasing fish… but that’s just me. I know a lot of people who like to use just nitrile gloves (keeps hands dry). I’ve also used some simms gloves in the past, which were decent. Personally, I just make sure I have some pockets accessible with hand warmers inside. When the hands get really cold, I’ll warm them up for a few minutes then get back to fishing. 🤷🏽♂️

Awesome video! I noticed you both fight fish with upstream pressure-do you find you lose more fish this way or does that not matter as much?
@venturesflyco11 ай бұрын
As a rule of thumb it’s definitely best to get downstream of the fish as fast as possible. Sometimes where you are at in the river or how deep the water is can make it hard (example: Spencer was standing in the middle of the river and the fish took off downstream. Pretty hard to walk back to shore and get below the fish.) So yes, you’re 100% right. Get downstream when you can because it’s an easy way to pull the fly right out of the fish’s mouth and lose that fish.

@@venturesflycoAppreciate the explanation, that makes perfect sense. Keep the videos coming!

@@PowderBlueThunder thanks for the fast response ! Love the videos !
@venturesflyco11 ай бұрын
Yup! This was just a couple weeks ago (so the brown spawn is over by now). Eggs work great pretty much all winter, in our experience. Have even caught trout on them during the summer.
