It was nice to see your set up again. We're just getting ready to start summer here. We're in late Spring. My Sarracenia have come out of dormancy but sadly I had some rot. Very upsetting after they did great for two years with no care. Good luck selling your plants. Is Big Mouth your fave flytrap? I'd like to get some other flytrap types this year.

Hi Scary .....nice to hear from you! Rhizome rot can really sneak up on you and before you know it part of your plang is dying away. Hopefully you were able to cut out the bad section? Yes the Bigmouths are one of my favourite Venus Flytrap cultivar (I seem to have many favourites). I love the large red traps and relatively small petioles. I wish you many happy moments with your beautiful plants as the growing season progresses......as always Happy Growing to you!

@@succulentflytraps Thanks. Good to hear from you too. Unfortunately the whole plant was a loss. I lost three good ones that I've been lucky to find replacements for. But I hate to have to replace. I never took divisions. I will be doing that from now on to have back up plants. I don't think it's my soil as other plants in the bog are doing great. I don't know what happened. Maybe the moss grew too much or too much rain during winter. They do just grow outside in my yard. I do love the color of those big mouth. I'll have to track some down. You've got a nice collection.

Hi , In the soil sphagnum of Venus, saw small white insects. What should I do? Please help me

Spagnum peat moss should be used for Venus Flytraps. You mentioned you saw small white insects. Is this straight out of a brand new bag? Maybe the peat moss in the packaging has been exposed to the elements allowing insects to enter. My bales of peat moss are compressed and dry so therefore I've never see anything live in there. Buy yourself a brand new bag (it doesn't like you need a lot) and go on from there. There should be anything live in there.

Hi there ....I don't feed my Venus Flytraps since they grow outdoors all year round and catch their prey themselves. The only time I would recommend feeding your Venus Flytraps is if you grow them indoors. Happy Growing!

Yes, I keep Venus at home. Can I feed all the traps in one day or will it destroy Venus?

Hi there ......I don't normally feed them so I can't definitely say how often you should feed them. However I would suggest starting off by feeding say one trap at a time. Wait for the trap to open up again and then repeating the procedure (its open for a reason right?). If you see the plant remaining to look healthy then you may want to feed 2 traps at a time. I've spent a lot of time in my nursery observing prey items that have been caught by VFT. Many have more than one trap closed and digesting whatever they've caught. The plants look OK! You also have to realise that flies are easy to digest as well. I think the best advice is to start off light and GRADUALLY increase feeding sessions. Having said this I wouldn't feed all the traps at once.....this is unlikely to happen in the wild and you may overfeed them. Happy growing !

Hello, what soils should I use for Venus and drosera? And how long should the pot and soil change be?

I use a peat moss and perlite mix for all my carnivorous plants. As a general rule I like to replace my potting medium every 3 - 4 years or if your plants start to become crowded and need to be divided.
