Yes... becoming older it's happening to almost every excellent tennis professional, closing it out - always nothing but the business end of a match - becomes a burden all of a sudden and it happened to Navratilova, Federer and many more ... and the relief of getting over that hurdle was obvious in Venus beaming smile after match point, almost like a little kid in a candy shop 😊

It was a great close match with both having chances to win. Giorgi is a top 50-60 player in the world and Venus showed flashes of her greatness and that Williams power. Makes it that much more impressive winning in over three hours.

Once a champion, always a champion. Guys mind you that this is her second match back since January when she got injured. She also played injured during this match and she's almost 44 years old and still won. This goes to show you that age is nothing but a number. Wow what a match that lasted that long. Venus has really improved her serve. Unfortunately she gets injured and had to play her absolute best to win in three tough sets. I'm short of words to express my admiration for this great champion. That smile in the end is everything. Se served for the set twice and got broken yet still finds a way to won. A true champion all the way!

Words cannot describe how much Venus is as a person and a player. A good 31 year old Camila Girogi vs. a 43 year old, injured Venus Williams. I had no idea that she was still playing. Three sets of grit and determination, and she won. I noticed the "highlights" were mostly on Camilia, but Venus won in the end. Just amazing.
