Your voice is a muscle and if you're serious about wanting to learn to sing well then you need to strengthen that muscle. I can speak from experience, as someone who couldn't belt, twang, sing more than an octave and a bit and had massive pitching issues to someone who has been singing professionally for the last 15 years. I did at least 15 minutes exercising a day as well as singing through lots of material and within six months my voice made an incredible change. You can too.

Practice twanging it. Sing Ny-ah’s initially then when you have the right placement and strength change it to ‘never’

Then you may be a mezzosoprano! Since it's easier for those voices to go low but not a lot. Even though the "me" in the original song is changed for a may too, since i suppose the artist liked it more, or felt more confortable with

Changing "me" to "may" isn't just so you CAN sing it... it makes it sound better with a modified vowel, and protects your voice.
