I agree! I first heard Wilhelmenia Fernandez in the movie "Diva" singing the exquisite aria from the opera La Wally.. She was also married to a great baritone, Andrew Smith who taught at the University of Kentucky, but passed away a few years ago.

@@charlesdotson4766 Slight correction; Andrew Smith taught at his Alma Mater, Kentucky State University. He was my vocal instructor, mentor and 2nd father. He and Mrs. poured so much into the lives of their student-children. The "Diva" certainly deserved much more exposure.

I was so lucky to see her on stage in Melbourne Oz in about 1990 as Aida. When the curtain came down at the end of the Triumphal March, with a chorus and huge orchestra, all you could hear was her soaring over the top of them all. And agree about Leontyne Price doing Pace Pace. This is my all time favorite KZbin clip. It's all good - and then the finale where she hits the big note from 5'50 to 5'59..... and then there is a steely flash in here eyes where she JUST KNOWS SHE NAILED IT. She sang Margarite alongside Vonson Cole's Faust in Dayton Ohio long ago when the film Diva was rather new. They were both wonderful people. I was a college age kid in the chorus.So many singers who were considered in the second tier then are so far ahead of those who are first tier now, So much more beauty and spirit of music.
