I love that Jackson kept the same theme of magical illusions throughout the closing arguments.
@MF-cj4by
@MF-cj4by 25 күн бұрын
He did a great job of pointing out all the “magical” illusions, but did he do enough to plant the seed of reasonable doubt? He spoke mainly to a “cover up” by those in the house and those in charge, but he didn’t speak much about how she couldn’t possibly have done this, at least not to my limited knowledge of what reasonable doubt entails. He made it sound like the cover up aspect was more important than the reasonable doubt aspect, and that is NOT what the case is about. I hope that does not leave the jurors with the feeling that they have to charge her with SOMEthing because she’s the one on trial, JO died somehow, and we have to hold someone accountable. I wish he had leaned more into what the experts said about the lack of evidence for JO being killed by Karen driving at 24.5 mph, in reverse, but leaving NO physical evidence on his body to support that claim. I am probably just paranoid that the jurors will overthink it the way I am and come back with a Guilty verdict. I hope justice prevails and Karen Read is a free woman by Friday at the latest

Did I hear Lally right ? Trooper Proctor thought he was in a ….. “ Safe Space to discuss things” when he texting about “Karen’s Leaky Balloon Knot” ? As if everyone should have a safe space to act like a disgusting degenerate? And … “ Proctor never thought that these Texts would be made public” ? Well that’s the whole Point isn’t it? ! Off course he didn’t know it would be made public ! When everyone is watching he’s Mr Trooper perfect with his shiny badge & Officer Friendly persona but now we know who he really is when he thinks no one is looking.

I think the fact the argument was about a corrupt police force, it clouded her judgment. throughout those 3 witnesses, I would say she started to be fairer and partial with objections - just saying' lol but before the latter, she was unfair throughout the whole thing, and I came to really really notice it when she decided to let the prosecution have a late witness, but then when the defence did, it wasn't allowed for those reasons. Thats when it really gave an indication of unfairness and bias, alongside allowing objections for the commonwealth but not for the defence . It was like a referree giving a load of free kicks to the opposing team for no reason...the problem is, the opposing team happened to be the comonwealth and THIS IS A MURDER CHARGE. Slightly more at stake than a few free kicks. She wasnt great, but towards the last couple of witnesses, I think her opinion changed, quite DRASTICALLY. She all of a sudden woke up.

I've watched many American trials - its often said that American has the best judicial system in the world ... what a lot of tosh. The struggle this lady and her Team have had is collosal. The Judge, CW and Judicial System should be ashamed of themselves. At times the CW case has been laughable. Can't wait to see the Judge, Lally, O'Keefes (and the creeps sitting behind them) faces when she is vindicated. Let's hope that the Jury have some common-sense (although its not very common these days). You could'nt write a book about this whole ordeal, because noone would beleive it. What a sham. Shame on this CW and the Judge.

DUI motor vehicle homicide. I sincerely believe that she doesn't remember what happened. She was blacked out drunk - that doesn't make her not guilty. I just honestly don't think she remembers. The judge also said I’m gonna read these instructions BUT if I say something different than the words I read to u go by what I said am not what’s on the paper? How is that legal? The paper is the written law she is reading outloud but if she changes it u ignore the paper? 100% of the time the paper what is written is what is binding because it can’t be changed . Every juror should have had a copy in their hand to read AS THE JUDGE READ iT.. that way they would KNOW what she changed .instead they have no idea what she might have changed

You know how John Okeefe was killed? There was a fight in the basement. I believe it was between Colin and John or Brian and John possibly. Most likely all three. During the commission of this fight the dog attacked. This happened to me, sort of. My husband and I got into a fight once where we were yelling at each other. I moved towards my husband in what OUR dog perceived as aggressive and he moved towards me growling. Clearly he thought of himself as my husband’s dog/protector. It was startling to us both. He didn’t bite me but he clearly was protecting my husband by growling and moving towards me. If I had made a move he would have attacked, I guarantee it! The German shepherd did the same thing, but actually attacked because it was a physical altercation. I think they dumped the body on the law with the intent of blaming the snowstorm/snow plow/etc. My husband doesn’t believe with how men act that John left that house alive. I wonder if John somehow got out alive but ended up passing out from his injuries and freezing and dying from the brain swelling. My theory actually makes more sense to me because they may have thought he was alive, just badly beaten not thinking they killed him. I think the google search did happen and it was with realization he had passed out on lawn. When the body was discovered, I truly only think a couple or maybe 4 people knew what had actually happened. But to their luck, their house wasn’t searched, they weren’t questioned and Karen just happenstance became the scapegoat. It was a collusion of people not doing their jobs, looking the other way, doing some favors, etc but not some massive conspiracy. It only takes a couple people to have a conspiracy and then side players to not question too deep to make this a crime to get away with. Those are dog bites, without a doubt. John’s head injuries were from some sort of beating. Also, my husband said that those Albert men and their connections would be intimidating to even seasoned Canton police officers. It’s easier to just go along to get along. MA is a very VERY corrupt state, we’ve lived there. These small towns and all their townies look out for each other, it’s like a different world. Karen was smart, pretty and an outsider. She fell in their lap when this all went down but they couldn’t stand her to begin with (trust me on this! I was an outsider) so it was the perfect fall guy/gal!

Seems like a logical point to start is, forget all the drama for a moment and ask yourself, based on the two versions of reconstruction in EVIDENCE, are you left with reasonable doubt that her car hit that man? If yes, everything else is moot and not material to the discussion. If not, then go after the discussion based on witness testimony. But I can’t imagine there won’t be doubt based on Paul and stuff vs ACCR engineers not paid by defense

Collecting evidence in PLASTIC solo cups and being either unwilling or unable to produce an evidence log at a murder trial are beyond Sloppy. They should all be ashamed and embarrassed.

Hypothermia ... and let's say the defense's theory is correct: It likely takes some time to come up with a plan. Perhaps they debated whether or not to move the body OFF the property.
