Plus the reversed reason. Dante here refused to acknowledge his demon side and gained the power he needed by finally accepting it. Vergil in DMCV finally accepts his human side and it gives him the power to match Dante. Both also ended up fully embracing both sides in DMCV as well, which is why they gain new Devil Triggers at the end and Dante even creates his own Devil Arm.

The weirdest part of this scene was always the hair. It's one of the major physical differences between Dante and Virgil. Virgil styles his hair with an overload of gel and hairspray, while Dante just doesn't give a fuck. Seeing the rain wash Virgil's hair gel away giving him the same hairstyle as Dante was totally weird to me at the time.

What games are you comparing this to?? A lot of games nowadays seem to be scared of being too serious out of fear of being called cheesy or corny, just look at DMCV compared to DMC1, DMCV tries to keep the upbeat feeling of hyper action and usually when it comes to Dante is always left to comedy besides very small moments, meanwhile in DMC1 you had more balance of when Dante was allowed to joke and when it's time to get serious, this happens with a lot of franchises as well

I think V and Urizen are supposed to be manifestations of Vergil’s human and demon sides, similar to Griffon representing his nightmares. If having DT is so important to be able to separate a man from his demon form, then why does Vergil’s base/human form not look like V, nor his actual DT look like Urizen?
