Have a look at the youtube clip by Dave Stanton on setting up this tool. You might find our Australian accent a thing, but he explains it very well. I just bought this tool and am a bit worried about the learning curve.

I still find it fascinating why you guys keep using those "1 and 1/8 of and inch" or "3/32th or 6/64th of an inch" instead of just plain "28mm" or "2mm". It's so mouthful, just to say it takes an hour, and when you make a mistake, you have to say it all again. It must be this conservatism big nations are famous for that keeps you doing that.

I think you have the wrong front blade you need to have the one with the curve on it, this is why it's wrecking the dowels.

It was because I did not have it dialed in correctly.

Would it not be better to shave a smaller amount and adjust for each pass. Knock the edges off first and work your way in. It would mean adjusting the blade a few times but it would avoid chewing up the wood.

Two things, one I’ve found that Veritas blades, unlike Lie Nielsen, does not come ready to use and need to be sharpened or a micro bevel added. Two is I hate that DEWALT drill. Especially for something that requires consistency and control like this. A corded drill would actually be better. Also that looks like Home Depot Doug for not the best quality but it should work. The drill is spinning too fast and the angle might be off.

Thank you for the valuable tips. I'm eager to put them into practice the next time I use the drill, especially the drill speed and angle changes. Honestly, I was hoping that it would be more plug-and-play than it is. Blade sharpening is a skill that I have not yet tackled. When I find the time, I hope to gain some experience in that skill.

I think not worth the money 266 euro in Europe. Buy cheap aliexpress same function.

I did not know aliexpress sold these, interesting. I will have to get back to you regarding the usefulness as it is still early days. Thanks for taking the time to check out the video.
