Gojira is one of my all time favorites. Groovy and rhythmic while technical and diverse with the instrumentation, then throw in some harsh screams and growls with some cleans. Call them technical death metal or (personally) progressive groove metal, either way, they are one of the sickest bands out there.

As for new Gojira, I don’t know why but I really like Another World, but their newest album was just okay for me. All of their music has grown on me so much so I’m sure it will be the same for their new stuff too, but as for now, the 3 albums I named remain some of my favorite albums of all time.

One can really appreciate the mastery of Gojira, when you can listen to their work in this somewhat isolated, purified context. When I listen to their tracks, they sound so natural, so fluid and so easy like they are walking in the park. And this work really made me remember why Gojira is so fucking awesome, their riffs may be easy but their compositions are madly hard and complex!
