Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another Warhammer: Vermintide 2 hero class guide in what is the seventh episode of the ''Mastery Guides'' series. This time featuring the single most mobile hero in the entire game and the class king of clutching ''The Handmaiden''. Now this is certainly one of (if not the) most played hero I have in the entire game. Now apologies for rabbling on a lot in the last segment that bit could have probably been structured a bit better but it's a really hard thing to quantify in words in a meaningful way what it takes to do proper true solo such that you can hear the explanation and benefit from it. But I tried my best to elaborate on a couple of concepts that I personally think might help you out. But only in combination with practice! Anyways hope you guys enjoy and thank you for watching! :)

As of making this video i've racked up 4.200+ Hours in Warhammer: Vermintide 2 with all of Okri's challenges done. I spend a lot of time in Vermintide on the modded realm challenging myself with interesting solo run's with special modifiers. Here 3 years after this video was made and it is great! I recently got into vermintide and absolutely love it. Appreciate the absolute thoroughness you go through in your videos so many of them have been helping me get better and I’m finally starting to play cataclysm regularly now having 300 hours in the game which is nothing in retrospect to the community 😂

I absolutely love this guide, its amazingly put together as always except for one thing. HOW DARE YOU talk down upon the beauty that is 80% revive speed. It is a majestic feeling when someone goes down next to you and you rez them before they can finish thier fall animation. Yes assassins are infantry. All minions have a faction and an armor class. If you wanna see the specifics for all minions in the game I can warmly recommend downloading the mod ''Bestiary'' which gives you an in game menu with a last of all minions, their hp, faction, armor class, etc. Anyways hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!

hi, thank you for this guide! it was in-depth and very interesting. if you don't mind answering, i was curious about your opinion on the row 4 ability dance of blades--you say it's simply not very useful, but i thought it'd be handy for hitting certain ranged breakpoints--for example, with dance of blades, enhanced power, and 10% vs skaven, i can 1 sbs a packmaster on legend. since you mention that dodging at the same moment you fire is a good idea anyway, i thought it'd be a nice boost? i also had a question about spear and shield combos--while 1st heavy does more damage to the initial target than 3rd light, i assumed that linesman cleave vs tank cleave meant that 3rd light would carve through hordes faster than just spamming 1st heavy; does tank cleave actually also improve cleave through infantry as well?

I've been playing modded realm since a week or so now. Settings on Cata and onslaught plus and horde spawns, density and amount of specials + monsters etc according to the amount of players we have. last night we played with up to 24 people against fields full of enemies. Your worst enemy are frame drops to 17 FPS LoL. But also good practice when you are with less people and with a steady FPS (and no crashes). You want to practice specials more you just crack up the number of specials that spawn. Same with monsters. We usually play with infinite ammo/heat tho, but the amount of enemies, specials are according to that. Oh yeah, and it's just a lot of fun to do, you get the most insane moments :) Thanks for the awesome guides!!

i can really agree with what you said about playing solo, i improved so much since then, when i started i was quite comfortable with champion difficulty and struggling with legend but sometimes winning. i started my solo runs with bosses and specials disabled and i was so stressed out trying to handle horde wich i completly failed. After many tries and watching videos of you and j_sat i am completing my first solo runs with only bosses disabled and i keep calm and it feels pretty easy now to handle horde. Next goal is to complete runs with all enabled.

Yay! Finally, the Knife guide to tell me how wrong I've been playing my favorite class! :D Well, here's some remarks I had, I guess: For talents, I favor Mainstay over the other 2. Since as Hm you're always pushing between every 2 attack, you can just stagger a horde into oblivion, even on cata. You can also stagger a CW with your Spear and Shield, 40% more dmg is pretty nice. I find it far easier to apply it consistently with Hm then with any other hero. To me, Wraith Walk is the quitencential Hm ability. It's sooo good in almost every situation, and always helps a ton when clutching. Since you're not meant to be main dmg, more survivability is good. I pick it over everything else almost every time for anything that's above cata or weave 40. For the attack sequence for SnD. I'd say light > light > Push > light > light is the best. It's a really good idea to ALWAYS push a trash horde, since it makes you immune to most retaliation. For most weapons, the push is to be used and abused, it regens so fast anyways. I really, REALLY like the berserker maiden. Unsure of how good it'll do on harder stuff, but I sure am gonna try it! I'm gonna argue that, as HM, always playing selflessly isn't a good thing. You're suposed to be a good support, so if you can dash to your teammate, it's often a good idea. BUT. Recognizing a situation where you're gonna die is also important, because most of the time, you might just get a double death on your hand. If there's too many disablers, it's almost pointless to res, you're just gonna get grabbed alongside your teammate. Some situation, you're just better of staying with your alive teammates as support and as stamina regen. I guess, in short, recognizing when to play defensively and not going for res is also a HM skill xP Finally, I'm surprised you didn't talk about Dash timing. Because you wouldn't believe the number of Hm I've seen, who had boss agrro, dashed, and let a teammate take the boss pound. When fighting side by side, or against a boss, knowing when to dash is super important, otherwise you send unneeded complications to your friends. I guess all in all, decision making is what makes or break a Hm =P Great video! You didn't disappoint with this guide! Keep up the great work man!

And you are right about the timing but I had to finish the guide at some point and possibly I'll go into more detail on that part in a seperate video! Also things like not dashing immediately to get past a bunch of enemies, but instead wait a bit to get as many as you can as close as possible and then dashing, putting as many of them on the right side and giving you as much space as possible. Been trying RV with throw up axes on legend, it's fun, and I ended up having the highest damage to monsters plenty of times. Also horde decimation with dual hammers is fun. It certainly takes time to do so! :) You don't really have a way to kill them fast, so if you aggro a chaos patrol it's all about consistently dishing out damage with pushblock attack into heavy and hope that your team is also contributing :P also thanks for watching!

Hey I'm a bit late to the party but I'm trying the HM Shield and Spear build and I was trying things, I found out that you can stagger a plague monk with the push at only 17% power vs skaven, so I was wondering, what is the upside of taking another 10% power vs skaven instead of 10% power vs infantry to cover more enemies? I'd really appriciate your opinions on this cause I'm very confused how to build it now. Thanks in advance :)

Hey, in the beginning of the video (when you are holding the spear and shield on the tree) how is your hood up with that helmet? Is it just a different helmet than the normal version or do you have a mod for it because that looks sick. Excellent video as well btw. Very helpful tips. I'm definitely gonna start changing my playstyle on Handmaiden. I wish the sword and dagger didn't require so much animation cancelling to be good though. :/

There are 2 ways of doing the hoodie thing! :) One of them is indeed a mod that unfortunately only works on the modded realm which is what I was doing in the video. BUT. You can also do it with any hat simply by double tapping X (or whatever key you have set for inspect) and holding it down on the second tap. Also thanks for watching! :)

I'm brand-spanking new to the game, and I have a question. I like the look of this character, and it seems like dashing through enemies with the sword-dagger combo. Would this be the best setup for a new player?

I actually have several counters to those points later on. My view is that there are several aspects to that. Lot so brace yourself. 1. Experiencing fight and flight enables one to practice flight and flight mode, and thrive aside fight and flight. (Until learn all characters).Making it a plus not a negative. 2. Actually caring makes you better player sometimes.That includes fight and flight. If you become so calm that you feel nothing well then your just void without emotion, your not even human at that point. This is more than likely a miscommunication by a friend who happened to watch same video. But big difference between being binary/black and white about it and not being confident outright and being semi confident but bit anxious, not about not feeling anxiety outright or that not being confident makes you a bad player doesn't. It's having balance of both and improving balance of both so that more confident and inversely less anxious. Never just like Be Confident (like 100%), being not confident= Bad. Which yeah is something that my friend failed to do. Is to be articulate on that. It's a trap. But a detrimental one. 3. Confidence and calm often comes down to skill.its natural for a player without skill to panick because they might lack that experience. To merely to remain confident for sake of being confident. But to have skill to bolster confidence to be confident. Experience Vs internal thoughts. It's easy to tell someone just to.. BE Confident. When they have no skill to make up for the confidence. 9/10 lack of confidence/fight and flight comes from lack of experience, not ability to BE confident in of itself. Its knowing what you are doing. Self trust. To be successful. 4. Adrenaline/fight and flight can be good surge of excitement, 5. Most screw ups don't occur because of fight or flight. It occurs because you were idiosyncratic arbitrary ''idiot''. Not because it was actually important. 6. Merely putting fight or flight on people's heads isn't way to go. You become what you think. If you think fight or flight your gonna be fight or flight. If you think purely. I'm going to learn from this. Nothing else. And be a ''troll'' who likes having fun. Then who cares. Just a game after all. 7. It's pretty rare that people do experience fight and flight in-game though idk some might in some odd cases. What most people experience is a sudden surprise. But most of them don't even care about mere oanock or fight or flight which to me is irrelevant anyway. Because it's not important. If someone experiences that then it's because they feel judged. They care more about people's judgement about them then what they think about them. 8. Stop caring about the outcome. If so fight and flights out a potential outcome then shouldn't be playing in first place. It's usually because you have an expectation in your head to meet. And your specific to that expectation. over just playing and seeing what happens. Vermintide to me is similar to elite dangerous, it's like in spaceship/ocean exploring facets of game. To me winning has never been the point. But to see fun learning and exploring as the goal. In fact not to set a goal at all. But rather to just be present. It's really just peeling layers and exploring depths of mechanics of the game. There isnt rly win as such more just exploring crap. 9. We tend to overthink things (and we don't even know we overthink things/over-thinkers). Only one thing that makes you feel anxious and that's yourself. Believe it or not. The way you react/your reaction to things will either cause to be anxious or to be less. Especially when it comes to other people who's own reactions have nothing to do with you in the first place. And many times you react gives others a calm reaction too. Keep it simple. Lots of viable alternatives. Could even just be like well I was testing a build. Fair point. You make the narrative.when you care less others have tendency to care less too. But we often don't see it that were contributing to fulfilling prophecy that instills others very judgements to make us anxious when really it's way we treat ourselves and others that perpetuates way we feel. There's probably million different narratives. Nearly each one of them are viable. If there's issue well just use self talk and it's not a problem. But it's as you say, it's just reducing anxiety to minimum. Not denying it outright 100%

Firstly, I am glad you liked the video and thank you very much! :) To your questions, no there isn't. You get the same chests for cata and legend difficulty. As for trinket. It was one I made on the modded realm and it was simply to showcase all 4 properties in the same frame instead of having to shift between 2 different trinkets. Yo my friend group is playing through vermintide 2 rn but I don’t see us replaying the levels once we get through them. This makes me sad cuz I want the spear and shield but I can’t get it till after we finish the main campaign, which means I’ll only have it for the remaining dlc maps. Do you know if there’s any way to get access to the spear and shield earlier?

hey party knife thanks for the video, absolutely one of my favorite classes to play, in fact handmaiden is soo good at clutching, so mobile and so much stamina regen that when you switch classes, it almost feel like you were badly conditioned. (i switched from handmaiden to shade its a world of difference) so... when carrer tier list? :D

Thanks for this mate. Love your guides. I've just moved to pc from xbox and loving it. I have to use a controller for reasons I won't bore you with but it makes head shots that bit more challenging. Is there a way you can hit the breakpoint on longbow to one shot body shot stormvermin on legend? Hope to see you in game sometime! Martin

Yeah aiming with a controller is certainly harder! But I don't think there is a 1 SBS breakpoint on legend I'm afraid :( Anyways I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching friend!

Such an amazing video. I love playing the Handmaiden and you just made me appreciate her defensive capabilities and utility even more, as well as giving me a clearer picture of her purpose. As someone who only played the game on lower difficulties due to a shitty PC before (I'm not gonna play Legend on 10 FPS xD) but now that I have a better PC, me and two buddies started properly playing this game just a couple of days ago, I REALLY appreciate this video, even today. In case you actually read this, are there any majorly significant changes that I should know about? Like, did breakpoints change or something similar? I actually read this and the only thing I would add is that in the current meta the Moonfire bow is slightly stronger than the regular longbow since it can 1SBS pretty much everything that isn't a chaos warrior or a flag bearer! Great video. I have a question though. I can't stagger monks when they're attacking with push using S&S even though I'm using Opportunist. Is there something else that affects your stagger?

Yes. Both the talent build and power vs properties on items all affect the stagger breakpoints. In order to stagger monks chain attacks (which is one of the hardest ones) you need both the power from push talent, enhanced power and power vs skaven on the charm. With the ''Perfectly Balanced Melee'' on cataclysm you hit the 1 SBS assassins and the BS+LS on a gasrat. Where as with the 'Perfectly Balanced Ranged'' You have 20% skaven + Enhanced = 30% for assassin and for Stormvermin and for gasrat and for strangler plus 10% armored + Enhanced for Bestigore,

I think the only way to test if there is a cap is if we add in Kruber's shared paced strikes. I did convocation on the latest patch with bots on legend, I got dropped early and a bot picked me up, who died shortly after. Being one hit from death during 80% of that mosh pit makes the rest of the game seem pretty chill.

Hello guys, I'm a pretty new player just getting more and more addicted to this awesome game. I did the Iron maiden build to try it and I gotta say I like it a lot. I was wondering though, is it a silly thing to use the moon fire bow instead of the longbow for the build? Will I miss something if I do? Thanks and sorry if the question sounds silly. I'm still trying to figure out the mechanics of this game in order to be able to play cata one day.

I recently tried spear and shield with swift slaying and alai alacrity... Highest DPS vs horde by far seems to be push + 3 light attacks. Thats stagger from push, 60% attack speed bonus and third light also has nice cleave. I was surprised that i am getting all green circles, with S&S handmaiden, lol Anyways, great video as always!

And to play with pubs its the best weapon choice. You can easily stagger SVs, and with Opportunist, you can stagger CWs when they aren't doing any of the overhead attacks. It just makes it so you can be confident when taking on a bunch of elites while making your team much safer as well since the overheads aren't as dangerous.

This is a truly fantastic guide. Just wow. I have one question though- I crafted the spear and shield but you can't upgrade crafted weapons and I've opened nearly 30 chests trying to get even a white version that I can then upgrade. Am I missing something or are the rng gods just not on my side?

@@ThePartyKnife I've unlocked it and crafted it and I've made sure I've unequipped the weapon but any item I craft has a brown background and a power level of 5. I've tested it with multiple crafted weapons of that type and when I scroll over to the upgrade menu in my crafting system none of them show up. It's really grinding my gears. Thanks for the reply though, I'll have another check when I get home but I tried multiple times last night. Oh and that shot you pulled off on the stormvermin did things to me.

No problemo! :) All minions have both a faction (Skaven/Chaos) and an armor class (Infantry/Armored/Monster) and if for example the list says 20% Skaven/Infantry for Assassins that means in total you need 20% power vs assassins and can achieve that through both skaven and infantry. So in that example you might put 10% skaven and 10% infantry on the bow and it works, or you could put 10% skaven on the bow and 10% skaven on the charm and it works, or you could get enhanced power and 10% infantry on the bow and it works. Pretty good guide. I see that I already do a few of these things, as they just seemed logical. I main the Swift bow however and focus more on controlling hordes when playing her, unless there is a dual hammer slayer in the mix, in which case I focus on special with the long bow.

@@ThePartyKnife well, J_sat was the reason I started playing VT2 and you were there reason that I came back :) now I have over 2K hours and still more things I learn when I watch your vids. I have one request, can you please run a round of VT2 in cata as WHC with Rapier (talent: Riposte :) with Extra dodge. (solo or team up to you :) I want to see your parry and your playstyle when you get a parry :) There is not even a good vid on parrying, type and well explained of different Parry and baiting it. Like I can parry Monks, Zerkers and SV, however I still struggle to get a good parry from CW. Or when there are 3 CW, and I get parry from one, I hit the other but I get hit from the first one since my timing goes out of sync.

With Monks I can dodge to one side to seperate one from the pack and parry her, same with Zerkers. It is a bit harder with SV since they bunch up very easily so it is harder to single one out, however I try to bait the poking animation and get the parry from that (hard but doable), CW on the other hand needs more bravery I think, so recently I have tried to bait the punch and parry the punch since it has less damage.

Hey i am new to this game and i immediately noticed something that peaked my interest. I see all your targets enemies and friends are almost instantly tagged by "color aura" (lets call it) how does that work? Is that mod of some kind?

In game click ESC --> Options --> Gameplay --> Locate ''Player Outlines'' and set it to ''Always on''. It's a great way to ensure you don't lose track of your teammates! Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

@@ThePartyKnife I have that On. its On by default. But for me it only appears when i look at player and its green outline it also only works when player is far,(2 screens away). Outlines disappear when player comes closer (1 screen away). For you all your team-mates are always outlined even if you do not look at them directly and are yellow. And your special enemies and bosses are almost instant tagged even in crowd of enemies. Its literaly impossible for me to tag something i can't even see. So ..how?

How am I going to reach +50% for the break point against blights, leaches, or gas rats? Enhanced Power, P vs Skaven OR P vs Chaos on longbow (but not both), P vs Skaven & P vs Chaos on charm, and Focussed Spirit manages 40%. What's one more power boost?

Technically you don't even need Focussed spirit to reach them. Remember that all minions have both a faction (chaos/skaven) and an armor class (Infantry/armored/monster) both of which you can gain power versus properties for. So if you wanna hit 50% on a blightstormer you could get Chaos+Infantry on the bow and Chaos/infantry on the cham + enhanced power. Or probably more reasonably you can can get enhancer + focused spirit + chaos/infantry on bow and chaos/attack speed on the charm :)
