With so much social media exposure, we made it a point to have an early dinner at Veronica's. This is a hidden treasure and I have never experienced Birria such as this before. We had finished moving our daughter to her dorm at Bellarmine just down the road and I knew I wanted to try it. But, was a little hesitant as places do not always live up to the hype. Well this one did not disappoint, 5 out of 5 in our group agreed it's a 10. We even got to meet Veronica's daughter who provided excellent service. We will return again soon; anyone reading this review should know to order everything and anything. Mexican Pizza, Tacos, and my favorite the Birria Egg Rolls were right there with the Pizza. Hurry in the place was packed by the time we left and is quickly outgrowing the space. The chips are light, the salsa is on point, and the queso is so smooth. You will be back for more. Took my Latino husband there today! I had the Enchiladas, which came with the most delicious piece of chicken ever on the side, along with these yummy potatoes and carrots, sounds crazy, but it was very good. It did need the pickled jalapeño on the side to pop up the flavor - not the hot, but the vinegar. Her enchilada sauce needs an acid boost to make it truly cravable, but it was good. My husband had the Caldo, not the noodle soup but the beef. He said it was very good, and he's pretty picky. The menu is short/redundant, I would hope it might expand, but definitely go as there are things on the menu you don't normally see. I wish I could add a few pics here, but c'est la vie! Go! Eat! They are very nice there, another huge plus. Everyone was nice.

My wife & I went for the first time yesterday at about 5:40 It was standing room only. We managed to get a spot at the bar pretty quick. It was delicious, we shared what you had. Had the best margaritas I've had in a long time.

@@goodallscountrykitchen my own mother will be 102 in September this year she just entered hospis we had had 8 Children and only has 3 left my sister and I have one brother and me the baby I will be 60 those are special times my mother was a great cook potato salad And Fried chicken she shook it in flour in a paper bag And homemade Runza it a German dish it homemade dough stuffed with cooked cabbage and meat and onions it is a staple in Nebraska look it up sometime on the Google well anyway sorry to bother you keep doing what your doing and God bless you and your family look forward to the next videos I will continue to get the work out on your videos

Great video. Yeah, check out the jalapeño pronunciation. An English teacher won't know, either! No offense. I'll have to check this out, then bring my Mexican husband for the final word! There are not too many excellent, authentic Mexican restaurants in town that do it for us. This looks good. Appreciate your videos, as always, and appreciate you covering places not in the trendy, corporate areas. They get their share of press, often unwarranted. I refuse to go to NULU et al. I don't want to deal with one-way streets, no parking, and crowds. This is my jam here - accessible, real places - not fake 'authentic' food.

Yes, this place is the real deal! It will be hard for me to go anywhere else for Birria style. I can’t think if one place in nulu that is family owned, and they are all over priced. Folks need to start exploring into other areas of town.

Have you ever gone to a restaurant that you didn't like the food ? Because I love Chinese I usually go out 2 times a month to Elizabethtown and Radcliff . Radcliff being the best went to the one on Bardstown rd you showed went and didn't like the food so tried again to see if it was just a bad day but still wasn't as good.

I periodically explain on my show that if a place does not meet my standards I scrap the video and move on. I also explain my show is not about talking bad about places because I’m not going to try and run anybody out of business. That’s why I do a lot of research or take recommendations from very credible sources. I cannot afford time and money to just have to throw away a video. Even with all of that I have still had to scrap quite a few videos. Looks like it’s that time again to do my periodic explanation to the audience of why all my videos are positive. I am not a restaurant critique. I am more of a Mom and Pop restaurant promoter. Thanks for being interested enough to ask that question.

Both correct, Oaxaca cheese is most closely mirrored by mozzarella from my understanding. Many restaurants just say mozzarella because it is easier for consumer to understand.

You HAVE to google Gorilla Bob's World Famous hot browns, he sells some of the best food in this city(south end, off Terry Rd & West Pages Ln), you will want to try the whole menu, trust me. It will be a HUGE hit and new favorite! & if you could even get ahold of the owner Bob Raymer himself for an interview, he would make for a great addition to the video, hes been apart of the Louisville food scene for a long time & he's such a genuinely cool guy!
