Me ex-mother-in-law used to be so proud of her ability to get what she wanted when calling customer service. She would brag how she would yell at the CSRs, immediately demand supervisors, and threaten to get them fired. After she finished I looked at her and said, "So you verbally abuse customer service people to get what you want? That's not something to be proud of, anyone can be a raving lunatic. I bet you were on the phone for hours too, because they didn't want to help you." She was taken back by that, but before she could counter me I said, "I had a problem with [cellular company] but instead of screaming at them, I talked to them and they fixed my issue in 15 minutes. You spent hours and ultimately didn't get your issue resolved completely [billing error] and I spent less than that and got a new phone [warranty replacement]." Yeah, she spent nearly 3 hours screaming up the chain of command over a $7.00 charge on her bill, I got a brand new HTC One. Screaming only makes things harder and instead of helping, the CSRs were in full CYA mode due to her threats so it got dragged out.
@astrophycis4 ай бұрын
It's true, I work for customer service and it is much faster to resolve the problem when our customers cooperate. Many of them yell at us and I personally hate it because they refuse to answer questions that we need to properly identify the problem, it simply seems that they believe that those of us on the other end of the line have to know everything.
@mjean6762Ай бұрын
My mom's that way and I was always so embarrassed by the way she acted (on the phone or not). to be fair, by the time you've gotten to a human who can help, you've already provided the phone-routing AI enough information about yourself for it to create and clone a duplicate of yourself. I know it isn't the CS fault that the system was designed to make you angrier, but i do sort of hope that my anger with the system and process somehow karmically passes through the system to ruin the penny-pinching bean-counter who decided they didn't need to optimize the system to improve customer experience. There is no reason i should need to re-provide my name/ address/phone/account multiple times on one call, trying to get an issue fixed.

That's a New Yorican accent... It is a fusion of black-american, new yorker, and Puerto Rican. Understandably, no one in P.R. would talk English like that unless they are from N.Y. True Puerto Rican accent, as in truly from P.R., is merely Spanish accent (no "th" or "v" and strong Rs and Ts) with a Puerto Rican flow.

However, that does not mean that you get to use me as a verbal punching bag. I will not tolerate it. Now you can either pah for your things and go or you can just go without."
