Hi. I noticed a few things. When I got the fragrance new and sprayed it, I had quite the same performance as you. I sprayed again and again. No change. The next day I was able to smell the fragrance (quite strong, with the oud-spice) on my pullover, which let me assume, that I got nose blind. I do not use it often. It has maturated for a while now. The performance is slightly better. Own worse performers in my collection. So, I think it's a also a problem of getting nose blind and than a lack of performance. Does not matter to me. I reapply my fragrances every 4 hours. 🙂 Ah yes. Last month I got a nasty cold. I was not able to smell anything at all for a few days.

Yeah on skin is what allows it to open up though, most fragrances will last on my clothes 24 hours. It does smell great but oud falls flat here 🤷‍♂️ Still love the smell for 3 hours though!

You're like the only person on YT to hit the nail on the head with this one 3-5 hrs max, definitely a skin scent for the last couple hours. I totally relate with the inability to make scent memories with this one- despite it being a phenomenal DNA. I'll add further that I got 0 comments or compliments with this one- it smells really nice up close but doesn't have any meaningful sillage /projection to reflect that. I think what happened is the 2022 reformulation nerfed the performance - older reviews mention about 8-10 hrs, but then it was seemingly "discontinued" for ages- and then magically popped up again mid 2022.

That would totally make sense. I will have to compare with my friends older bottles and then make a short if that seems to be the case. Its really unfortunate because i really do like the smell

Yeah I find the smell heavenly, but won't be repurchasing another bottle based on my experience with the 2022 batch A short to test out the theory would be a a very interesting idea actually!@@ChadSecrets

The reason I like cologne is because I like to look, feel and smell good all day, not just some of the day. It's funny, another scent that's incredible but doesn't last has the exact same color bottle, La Nuit De L'Homme by YSL. It is what it is, hence Jack of Clubs and I'll find this one's stronger dupe as well. Good huntin' people.

Very good fragrance here. I am always getting 7-8hrs from it, decent projection. Not the weakest, not the strongest. My batch is from 2015 if this matters.. maybe or maybe not. Havent't tested newer batches. Nice review ! 👌

Versace is a great starter house. Has all your bases covered. They have good summer scent in man eau fraiche, versace pour homme, year round scents in dylan blue and sweet winter scents in the eros line, still haven't smelled oud noir yet tho. I recommend Versace to anyone starting out. I love versace frags

I just got my 200 ml Dylan Blue and Im sooo dissapointed... I cant beleive how weak it is. Especially when some of the rewievers talking about is as BEASTMODE fragnance... I think that everithing is getting weaker due to cost save and refolmulations. The video is spot on as always :) Be good and smell good man! :)

I actually mentioned that in my Dylan blue review. Because I noticed that I go noseblind to it and stop detecting it. But hours later, i'll get a whiff of it and realize i just went nose blind. it's a very good fragrance, give it a chance. Give that bottle one month. Same thing happened to me. Did test strips and both me and two grandchildren could barely smell it at all. Bottom of 8 frags tested. 3 weeks later we tested another batch of frags and it went to 2cd. What happened? Maceration, which I didn't think was real. Now all scents get a month after opening sprays. I would bet on your Dylan, not against. Good luck!

I have Versace Oud Noir and like it. Not the samo samo. Bought it some time back and know I didn't pay what you did. Conservative scent to my uneducated nose. I'll buy a back up if I find it cheap enough, which sounds like I won't. 😁

I hate the black pepper spice at the beginning, it's too harsh. I prefer it after a few hours. Smell description is spot on sweet/orange/caramel/honey with black pepper. Eros is much better in my opinion and every chanel is better. This reminds me of oud wood by tom ford but stronger and spicier

Chadster, what do you think about the verbena / vervain note - which is very sitrusy (kind of like lemon and lime) ? I have been going that route in the last couple of months, trying out shower-gels, pure EDT, lotions, candle lights, room sprays, essential oils, etc. Love to wear it when I work out and it is of course great for spring and summer - but not so much fall and winter (thought I sometimes still wear it during those seasons... Haha...)

Lemon verbena is one of my favorite notes, not so sure about just verbena. But I recommend Lemon verbena candles from candlecopia. I absolutely recommend for a fragrance eau de Rochas homme rochas.

only western oud fragrance I have is acqua di Parma oud and that one's good and year-round with good longevity and projection. I have an oil from ASAQ that has real oud in it and its very animalistic and that's very situational to wear

I just got this its so bad I thought it was fake and not real but i looked at the bottle and compared it to Dylan blue and they are the same and i did catch a small whiff i got so mad thinking its fake because I couldn't smell anything that i literally sprayed half of the bottle out of anger now I keep smelling small whiffs of it but I do have to say it would smell super amazing if it wasnt so weak its sad lol and I also went on eBay and ripped the seller because i thought it was so fake and after seeing all these comments and now getting small whiffs I guess it's real but just crazy weak 😢

@@i-am-mj TF Oud Wood is the better fragrance. But they both have their uses. They are both very nice and unique enough to not be redundant. I wouldn't wear Tom Ford to work but I sure as hell would wear Oud Noir. If you have the money for Oud Wood, what's another 60 for the versace?

I am using it right now. Amazing smell but very very very poor performance. Doesn’t last long at all and nobody can notice that you even sprayed something recently until they closely give it a sniff. So it loses its purpose of being a perfume. Waste of money in my opinion.

I disagree i believe oud wood is by far the most beginners oud. Its so clean and easy to wear. Oud noir is way more polarizing and harder to wear. They might share 1 note but they are vastly different. Dont ever buy oud noir thinking your gonna replace oud wood or even no what oud wood smells like. Unlike some clones that Will get you close to a specific dna and get you a feel for what it might smell like this does not do that at all.

I actually think the John varvatos is easier to wear than oud noir. But as far as easy to wear for an oud, oud wood takes the cake. Love your videos. Best beginner oud is Afgan Oud by Sunnamusk. Shame sunnamusk are so underrated Close second is YSL M7 oud absolu My favourite of all ouds is Xerjoff Golden Dallah
