In addition to your impartial reviews, I really appreciate your awareness of value (price) in products! When a content creator recommends products that are outrageously $$$ I feel they have lost touch with their average viewer. For me, this reduces their credibility as $$$ doesn't always equate with quality. Althouh I realize this is not their intention, it can inadvertently appear elitist and self-indulgent.

I feel the same way. Price per ounce is important!!!

But many people keep asking for reviews of expensive products because they are wondering if those products are worth the price tag. You just can't win either way.
@giselerose83915 жыл бұрын
Great point which is true. I appreciate those reviews. I am thinking often in monthly "favorite" reviews the products can be $$. It's unintentional on their part and definitely a "no win" situation on either end. Hey, if it's worth it I'd make the investment. Lol😛
@amixeblu5 жыл бұрын
@@firnheledien Personally I like what is affordable. Yes higher end can be "investigated" just as drugstore products can be, I mean why not, but that doesn't make them necessarily better!

Thank for letting people know that its a good idea to wear a thicker moisturizer after using something like dew point. So many moisturizers use water based ingredients as a humectant and aren't great for locking in moisture. I feel like a lot of people haven't taken this into consideration. You're a hundred percent right that a lot of people with acne prone skin think thick moisturizers are all just going to cause acne. For myself my acne is finally clearing up from now using hydrating ingredients and skipping that morning cleanser. Thank you!

Thanks for the insights! I can confirm it is pronounced "Versed" and not "Ver-said" (I work for Target). Personally I have tried the cleansing balm, the body oil, dew drop moisturizer, HA booster, moisturizing mask and brightening serum. I would agree to skip the body oil due to the fragrance just begging for a reaction. It smells lovely, but if you want to smell nice, put on a perfume over clothing...not skincare. The dew drop moisturizer is probably my favorite product in the line. It comes in a small tube, perfect for your bag, and just simply works. There are good ingredients in there and it has a great texture. If you want a better price-product ratio, just go for the Hydro Boost Dry Skin. There really isn't any compelling reason to spend money on the cleansing balm. You can get much more for your buck using other balms and the eucalyptus is WAY too strong. Seriously. Avoid all of the masks and the brightening serum. The Loreal Vitamin C is the best drugstore L-ascorbic acid you can buy in my opinion.

Dr Dray includes a list of common allergens and fragrance names in the description box of the following video; however, it does not mention fruit/flower/plant extracts, so that is still an area of confusion. “Skin care labels demystified: Dermatologist tested? Hypoallergenic?” kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5_ckICtgLOMrdk Note that the allergen/fragrance list in the description box of the above video was also included in a more recent video. I don’t remember in which video it was, but it doesn’t really matter since the lists are identical.

Thanks doc! I requested this after seeing it on dermstore and was most interested in the overnight peel because I’ve developed some closed comedones or keratosis pilaris along my jawline/chin area despite using SA, sulphur and BPO (which help out tremendously with cysts don’t get me wrong, but perhaps may be too drying for Kp). After seeing how smallllllll the actual products were for the price in person at Target, I decided to buy the PFB Vanish serum and the Alpha 14% AHA serum instead. I also purchased the eucerin hand cream with urea to use as a face moisturizer (hope that’s okay because it contains 5% urea like its face cream in Europe) and I made the correct decision. Of course it’s all thanks to your thorough and generous guidance 🙏

I have just discovered this skin care line and I accumulated three products already: dew point; which I already watched a lot of your videos and was convinced that there were no occlusive ingredients in it before I saw this video, and that it is basically a serum, and I’ve tried it as a moisturizer, and you are right, it doesn’t work alone. Hearing you confirm that makes me feel like a good student. I have also purchased the skin soak, and I am convinced that it clogs pores. I woke up with a plethora of blackheads. Red algae is comedogenic. And lastly I haven’t tried it yet but yesterday I bought the shortcut overnight peel. I understand it has rose, but I don’t mind it that much, since so many things I already use do not. The packaging for this skincare line is so cute. I am planning on collecting and trying even more products.

I don't know why dermatologists say Tumeric can be irritating and Coconut Oil can clog your pores. It's been used in Asian culture for thousands of years, with no complaints. However, the way they use it differs. They generally use Tumeric in ubtans(face mask), which you wash off. Coconut Oil is used as a massage oil, which you again wash off. Tumeric and Coconut Oil can be problematic when you leave it on skin for a long time but are probably okay for short term?

I LOVE VERSED (also thought of the medicine because of doing ambulance billing and also from transcribing dictation lol) Baby Cheeks milk toner. That's one product from this line that I have worked into my routine, feels good on my face, hasn't produced any breakouts and also pairs well with my serums in making them feel a little less sticky! I do use the Day Dissolve balm and also have their face wash as well. While I don't have any allergies or sensitivities to either of them, they are easily replaceable. I also currently use their Zero Gravity eye cream. It's a nice product and doesn't irritate my eyes but I'm not an eye cream person either. I gave this company a fair shake though. And the Baby Cheeks is the only thing I've found so far that I reordered and plan on continuing. I'm waiting on the lip oil now but it hasn't arrived yet....but I'm leery now because of the olive oil content. Thanks for all that you do for us! You're much appreciated! 💙

Has anyone tried layering tinted mineral sunscreen (EltaMD UV Clear or Colorescience Sunforgettable SPF 50) over a combination sunscreen (like Eucerin daily, Olay sensitive, or CeraVe AM)? I know there are rules about avobenzone and mineral sunscreens, but products tend to pill for me so any advice is appreciated!

Roll0112358 I think Dr Dray did a combo of the colorescience sunforgettable over PCs spf primer serum (which has avobenzone) in her LA vlog?

ignore the rule...just put it on ...everywhere

Roll0112358: I just put EltaMD UV Physical tinted mineral sunscreen on top of a combo sunscreen (i.e. Banana Boat Simply Protect Sensitive Faces) this morning; no issues whatsoever, including no pilling. Personally,I don’t use sunscreens that contain Avobenzone or Oxybenzone because they burn/sting my eyes and they turn my white fabrics yellow.

That's pretty individualized. Unfortunately, it's trial and error.

Thank you, I was curious about the line. I also found it confusing; they seem to have a lot of products that sort of mirror The Ordinary, but without the cost benefit. I am not sure if I will dip into it any time soon. Hope you had a lovely holiday today

When layering an occlusive moisturizer over a humectant, does the humectant need to dry first? Thanks for any help. 😊
@jt81425 жыл бұрын
pheline24: No. It is better to apply the moisturizer on top of the humectant before it dries.

Hello From Singapore. Subscribed to your channel 3 days ago and couldn’t stop watching all of them. Love it and thanks for sharing. I’m starting to look into the ingredients of the skincare and striking off the fragrance. ❤️

Dr. Dray, will you please review Image skincare? I have used this for years. Recently I have drastically changed my skincare due to your channel, using CeraVe products now. I still love the Image sunscreen, and have branched out to many you’ve recommended. I would be thrilled if you would review their line of skincare products. I feel like I have been spending way too much money on products I do not need. Thank you for your insight and honest opinions.

I just think of the anesthetic medication Versed! My baby daughter had a good dose of it before each of her open heart surgeries to help her calm and relax before placing the IV for general anesthesia. This is the reason I don’t think I could try this brand because this is all I think of looking at the brand name!
