Ven John Thank you ! I recently discovered “Berkeley Buddhist Monastery “ channel. Abbot is a cool NYC Brooklyn banjo playing regular dude who was ordained as a teen , is now a full Professor of Asian Studies PhD at UC Berkeley . They have some excellent uploads on KZbin along with an English daily practice ceremony. Affiliated with City of 10,000 Buddha in Ukaia Calif . Also have been listening to “What the Buddha Taught “ as audiobuddah book in KZbin , seminal work by Raula Wapola PhD (sic) . Keep up skillful means ❤

Thanks for your feedback Steven, and for referencing other resources that will be helpful to folks who read your comments here. The BBM had a great series by Dharma Master Heng Sure (who was from Ohio) on the Avatamsaka Sutra, which is probably still available online. And the Wapola book is a great text - short yet covers the topic well, and in ways that are clearly orthodox to the earlier Buddhist teachings. Yes! Skillful means! That most wonderful principle in the Lotus Sutra!

@@namoamidabuts I just listened to MOST of your Lotus Sutra Reading as I do at night if I have difficulty sleeping .I think in the quiet calm the Dhrma can “imprint “ when the mind is calm , undistracted “ Hank’s for correction Ohio not NY

I think you are right about "imprinting". Some teachers might say, don't even worry too much about the words, per se. So, if OH, that we are both talking abut Heng Sure. I am grateful for your comments, Steven. -John
