Simple. Neither. It was confirmed by George Lucas himself that both Anakin and Luke had the same exact Force Potential, but because of who Luke was Luke was able to more fully realize his potential than his Father. Although both never came close to unlocking their full power. If Luke ever did though, Abeloth wouldn’t even be an afterthought, Luke could just blink and she’d be gone from the universe.

Honestly I’m so glad you made these videos. Anakin Skywalker is my favourite character and while I have always respected the opinions of you and Jen, I always that he was really badly downplayed (to the point I believed that you were biased against Skywalker). These breakdowns really feel like the best overall view on Skywalker’s combative abilities; he has the power of tier 1 characters, but lacks the range of tactical knowledge to truly be one. I’m equally impressed by your breakdown of Janna Solo Fel. I’ve never read (most) of the legacy stories (do to either not being able to find them or buy them), but your comments about her really made me like her, and your given the reputation I’ve always been given about New Jedi Order era characters power levels, I’m not surprised that she’s a tier 1. All in all, great job Evan. This was well worth the wait.

Evan's assessment of Anakin has actually motivated me to rethink my own, and I can't deny that I've been quite dismissive of him in the past, writing him off as a reckless glass cannon with no defense whatsoever, when the truth is that Anakin is actually quite versatile, with the weakness represented by his emotional baggage being largely circumstantial.

Been watching videos along time and I just wanted to say thanks for making these videos. After the dumpster fire that the sequels were I began getting into The EU. It’s been years since Rise Of Skywalker and I feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface. And I learn more about not only the galaxy itself but some of the beings in it as well. So far Ben Son Of Luke is my favorite character. It makes me livid that his story ended or should I say erased. Makes me even more livid that Ben Solo is a thing. I doubt any other 18 year olds watch ur content.

As much as people don't like SWTOR Revan, he is a tragic character. 10:14-10:21 No offence but I really don't think a "cheater's win" exists in a life or death battle. Yes Jaina is more honourable, but that just means she won't kill/endanger innocent bystanders. In a "real" fight (i.e. where it's life or death), there are no rules. If say, throwing sand in the opponent's face will grant you victory, you do it.

I have an interesting match for ya to consider. Sora bulq vs Lady lumyia Granted it's probably an open and shut match but it kinda works nicely for reasons like the fact that lady lumyia is weak to shoto and saber combos and that her tendrils might not be all that effective since weequay are resistant to physical weapons and blaster bolts and I think a lot of people underestimate sora bulqs level of skill since he's atlest highly adept in most if not all forms he just outworldly prefers juyo or his "vapad". And that he can atleast match users like mace for a time.

Wanna know what's scary about how powerful Jaina Solo is At the end of Crucible (The last EU Book) Jaina is 36 it takes place in 45 ABY She's 36 year's old and she's already this powerful now imagine how much more powerful she's be if The EU had continued who's to say by the time she was in her 60's that jaina wasn't as strong if not stronger than Grand Master Luke Skywalker which is truly Scary considering how powerful he is and yes unlike a certain Disney Canon Mary Sue Jaina trains constantly and has earned literally every single accolade she's earned

I know I'm a week late on this one, so I'm sorry about that, but I want to post a few comments now to respond to this video in my opinion. 1. I'll give my points on the last two questions in this Q&A by Random Revanite. First, I (in my opinion at least) would prefer putting The Old Republic during The SWTOR era up against The Clone Wars Era Galactic Republic, as that's the period where we have most documentation on the strength of The Galactic Republic in their time period, and because the 2 factions (IMO) were at their strongest during those time periods. Second, about the question on Revan, or Meetra Surik being stronger, remember what Kreia/Darth Traya said at the end of KOTOR 2, and I quote: "You are greater than any that I have ever trained", when talking to Meetra, implying, if not directly stating (since Revan was also apprenticed to Kreia at one point) that Meetra was at a higher power level than Revan, and therefore stronger. That should give you some answer on whether Revan, or Meetra Surik was stronger, since the teacher of both said so.

I the book "Revan" darth Nyriss pretty easily beat meetra as far as I remember. then revan put on his mask, got his memories back and defeated her. Pretty safe to say that revan is stronger than meetra. Greater doesn't mean stronger.

A character I’d like to see is Ashoka Tano through there appearances. In the TCW film to season 5 I view her as tier 5. By season 7 I believe she proves herself a tier 4. By Rebels I view her as tier 2.( or at least tier 3 in the vein of Galen Marek; a tier 3 with the tactics of a tier 2.) post empire is hard to say since she’s only really fought Mando and bodyguard lady.( admittedly cool fights but hard to base if her skills have improved or atrophied.)

TCW Ahsoka is a high Tier 5 at best, and Rebels Ahsoka is Tier 4 at best. NOTHING about her shows she's developed that high. At best, she's a stripped down, more restrained version of Starkiller clone from TFU2. The only thing that has changed is how she's shifted from just Ataru/Shien-based Jar'Kai, to incorporate elements of Niman, such as more fluid application of Force Push.

The pre-prime Malgus going toe to toe with Shan doesn't really hold up - she was also FAR from her prime during the battle of Alderaan, only a Knight, hardly her eventual Grandmaster level. Though I do fully agree that Jaina would take that fight.

I have to say coming back and watching this video again; your comment on Satele being beaten by a “pre-prime Darth Malgus” being statute for Jainas easy handling of her as a grandmaster, to me, isn’t a statement which holds much merit. I think there are many (not just yourself) who have a tendency to take Satele in the Hope trailer at face value as her skills as a grandmaster in her prime- this is honestly just wrong. Satele in in the Hope trailer was between the ages of 30 and 32, and was still a Jedi knight at the mid-point of the Great Galactic War; she was not in her prime, she was not a Jedi master and was certainly not a grandmaster. Shan likely wouldn’t have reached her absolute peak as both a martial artist and a force user (whilst retaining her bodies full capabilities before starting to succumb to age) for likely close to another 10 years (most human Jedi reaching their primes in their late 30s to early 40s). Granted- Malgus was not in his prime either, but he was a few years older than Satele, and was confirmed to have reached his prime at around the time of the Deceived trailer, which was 14 years after the events of the Hope trailer. Following the same logic, we have never seen Shan in her prime in combat, not with Malgus or anyone else. If 14 years previous to her prime she could contend with Malgus in lightsaber combat (albeit, she did lose) and flat out demolish him in force abilities, then I’m sure the same, If not to a higher degree could be argued for Shan in her prime. By the time of the battle of Rhen Var ~8 years after the battle of Alderaan, she could shatter steel blast doors without hesitation or any visible effort, and could manipulate the biology within Hexes, as well as keeping a force shield around her to protect herself from the vacuum of space (as seen in Fatal Alliance). Do I think overall she could beat Jaina? No. I don’t. Jaina is just too skilled of a lightsaber combatant and I think Satele would be too likely to continue to try and duel her until she was disarmed, by which point, Jaina would simply kill her. However, were Jaina to allow Satele the opportunity to switch to her force abilities, or if Satele would willingly swap out melee combat for the force, I think it could be a *very* different story, however, one I don’t see as likely due to the character. That aside, I’m super excited to see your discussion videos come out, one of my fav parts of the Star Wars Versus community has always been to listen to and get an insight into the minds and thoughts of said creators, and understand their thought processes and their views. @@yrooxrksvi7142 they hold Dooku as a tier 1.5. Anakin utterly dominated Dooku in every way during their final fight once he got serious. He beat Dooku more convincingly than Yoda ever has. He was also dominating Kenobi during their final duel and would almost certainly have won if not for the dark side clouding his judgement and making a dumb decision. Despite being mentally hindered, severely sleep deprived, and going against someone who knew him and his fighting style better than anyone else. We also have statements from Gillard and Lucas placing Anakin as a level 9 duellist by ROTS, on the level of Yoda and Sidious. And we also have the fact that Anakin beat Mace during the ROTS Video game, a game which Gillard had a direct hand in creating and stated that that’s how the fight would’ve gone. I don’t see why he shouldn’t be at least above tier 2 by ROTS.

@@macattackk I agree to almost all of this, as long as you mean he's Tier 1 as a *swordsman and martial artist* strictly. On that regard, there's definetely no point arguing about Anakin's absolute mastery of the lightsaber and superhuman resilience. However, the sum of the parts does not rise to a Tier 1 overall. While a powerhouse in the Force, Anakin's powers were pretty blunt, direct and mundane. All known variations of TK, telepathy, physical augmentation, implied Mechu Deru. Dooku was able to blast him with lightning at first (and if we stretch it and look at TCW, multiple times), Obi Wan was able to match his Force Push on Mustafar. At the most, Anakin can be considered a Tier 2.5, no more, no less, because of his fool-hardy attitude and coasting on swordsmanship talent for the most part. As for Gillard and the RoTS videogame, those are to be taken with a grain of salt. Gillard is an impeccable trainer and stunt coordinator, but he's not a lore expert or do his statements have any weight on it. Being on par with Sidious is something that needs to be contextualized, as he barely used his saber(s), hasn't trained in decades and heavily relies on Dark Side amp. And the RoTS game adaptation, while cool, is questionable in how it portrays some events. The novelization describes Cin Drallig pretty much falling to Anakin's blade in a matter of minutes, instead of the big epic boss fight we get, and there's no mention of Serra Keto either.

@Daniele Mulas While I agree with you that Anakin has tier 1 martial skill and force power, but not a tier 1 overall; I don’t at all agree that Skywalker is at the level of tier 2.5. Unlike Grievous Skywalker doesn’t have the limitation of being a non-force sensitive and although his actual number of powers is fairly basic, he has them in combat to do more than overpower someone. Ex. Flinging Durge’s mines back at him, throwing Ventress’ pillar back at her (if he so blurt he could’ve just destroyed it) or entangling her in live wires (while emotional). His martial feats are no less different as he has proven to have a strong offensive and defensive style against opponents like Dooku, Ventress and Kenobi and has used strategy against them. Ex. Against Dooku he tricked him into thinking that he was using Shien until the last seconds of fight. As for the force lightning claims; Anakin charge was pure reckless and driven by his emotions at the time (his future wife did just fall out of a ship, watched dozens Jedi die all because of Dooku and had no knowledge of Dooku’s lightning beforehand with even Kenobi appearing not to know that Dooku had the power until he used it); also if you include the clone wars you also need to include the multiple time that he did block Dooku’s lightning (including their first rematch on Tatooine); plus the times where Anakin didn’t have a saber to defend himself with (like on Zygeria). Unlike Savage Oppress, who has never blocked Dooku’s force lightning with his saber (even one after the other) Anakin is at worst spotty when it comes to defending against Dooku’s lightning. Finally, Anakin is not coasting mostly on talent he unquestionably has back up his talent with actual skill. He displayed a keen understanding of the mechanics of the forms, which allowed to match the technical skill of Kenobi and was pronounced by Dooku to be the best Djem-so stylist he has ever seen (which you don’t get based on talent alone); while it’s true that his talent has made him a better sword master doesn’t make him a talent coaster. Overall while not tier 1, I don’t any reason why he shouldn’t be at the highest level of tier 2; with the only thing holding him back being his tactics to prefer power over misdirection, which aligns with similar council masters like Mundi and less with Tin.

Skywalker has directly proven to match and surpassed the powers of Count Dooku, Obi wan Kenobi, Asajj Ventress and displayed power beyond anything Kit Fisto, Shaak Ti, Ki-Adi Mundi, and Plo Koon. He also has preformed feats that scale to Bane’s ex. Stopping a telta storm as a padawan to bane’s sith ritual on Russun. While not normally on Sidious’s, Yoda’s, and Prime Krayt’s level he is not far behind them by any means; just as much as Windu is not far behind Yoda or Sidious in power.

Volfe Karkko Mid Tier 2 yes it took the entire Jedi council to take him out he’s not High Tier 2 because of he’s Dueling/Swordmanship abilities but he’s equal if not a little bit stronger in the force than Count Dooku but he’s a terrible Duelist.
