FILM DESCRIPTION:
Feeling responsible for his father's death, which occurred during a climbing expedition, Peter Garrett (Chris O'Donnell) has quit the pursuit in favor of photography, while his sister, Annie (Robin Tunney), has become a top climber. After Annie is hired by wealthy businessman Elliot Vaughn (Bill Paxton) to lead a trek, inclement weather causes the crew to become trapped. Facing his fears, Peter assembles a rescue team, including experienced climber Montgomery Wick (Scott Glenn), to save them.

That Pilot was the real MVP in this movie. Transport a rescue team at such a high altitude in a crazy windy snow storm and still fly away in the Chopper without any casualties. Thats Boss status right there.

@@tifftaffy6062 I had a job where I literally had to hold the rear wheel of the helicopter where we unloaded our crew at a mountaintop because we could not find anywhere to land nearby. Pilot put the front wheelpoint of the mountain where I lowered myself down and held the rear wheel so everybody could get off. Helicopter was a French Alouette I believe.

The unluckiest rescue team ever. This set the tone for them and how they died. All could been preventable f.e helicopter pilot landing 50m below and storing nitro explosive in canister. They were more dangerous to themselves then the mountain ever was.

Shouldn't be easier for pilot to hover with every person deployed to the ledge? If he managed to climb the chopper to this altitude with all people aboard, why was so dramatic to hover with only two people (and pilot himself)? So many questions, so few answers.

There’s only two answers actually. One is extreme wind turbulence funneled between mountains. Two is that choppers are susceptible to weight imbalances due to being in the air. Those two are very bad combinations.
