I use a vertical mouse for gaming. My old man wrists couldn't handle the side to side tracking movements anymore, but the vertical mouse helps so much. It just takes a little while to get used to, but once you've got your settings re-adjusted it's fine.

Ive been using a vertical mouse to game with for about 4 years now having played arena shooters / shooters since 1999. I can say "losing accuracy" with a vertical mouse is a myth and just lack of experience/control. I wish people would review vertical mise on the amount of G's they can handle seeing most have sensors that freak out from flickshots and fast turns even. Logicle seeing they arent made to game with [some are]. I currently have a trust GXT 144 Rexx, wich is to slippery for me so ill be going into the MX vertical blind considering nobody talks about G's even when its from a gamers perspective. Casual gamers perspective for sure. Fyi : i had to switch to vertical mice because i could no longer use regular mice with low dpi as picking them up would ofton cause my thumb/picky/ring finger to dislocate. Resulting in them dislocating more easely over time. And high speed is awefull for precision [atleast for me], we are talking 8k+dpi comming from 750/800 dpi.

@@daniloberserk I have now been using the mx vertical for a couple months. It has allot more grip to it then the trust I had. It can handle flickshots thankfully and I will be sticking to this. I use my old mouse bungie with the wire when it needs charging, the only downside is that it's a stiff wire and the first few centimeters behind the connector are basicly rigid. Gaming mice that use wires ofton have the end of the cable click into the mouse somehow this one is definetly sticking out like a sore thumb. But it's the best I've found so far so I'm sticking to it, maybe look for a less stiff cable.

My precision is better with the MX compared to my other gaming mouses, the way you explained tension and the mouse is different which is why we holster guns differently from how you tense your arm, so I recommend for everyone to try out a vertical mouse, there are many, don’t knock until you try it yourself!

That tension to aim accuracy theory isn't correct in my opinion. Building muscle competence from a state of rest actually gives you much more control- this is a philosophy directly from martial arts, if you're tense and get hit or attack, you're more likely to fall or fail and receive injury.

Very late comment but I'm pretty sure a large contributing factor to why the battery life on gaming mice are so much shorter is because of the ultra low latency wireless transmissions they use (and faster readouts & processing from the sensor to go along with it). As an example, the MX Master only has a 125hz polling rate whereas wireless gaming mice have 1000hz.

The battery difference is usually because a gaming mouse will have a higher reporting rate. My Logitech g305 is rated at 250 hours, but at work it’s in endurance mode and I went at least 6 months without changing the battery.

If you want to use the 2 side buttons, don't install the software app. It overrides what the buttons are doing, and there is no way to disable the override (that I found). You can uninstall the app and then the buttons work again.

I have the same, just got it to try it out because of wrist pain and I've been happily using it for more than a year now. People always look at me funny when I say I use a vertical mouse to game, but it seemed so obvious to me, especially for playing FPS games--with a vertical mouse my hand position is kinda like holding a weapon's grip, and my "pointing" motions are more natural.

Believe it or not, comfort with your mouse comes from your seating position. One should not have resting any of his weight on the wrist. Angle at which you type at that computer desk with that xtra keyboard retractable shelf would be optimal. That is a bit more than 90 degrees at elbow. And arm should stay close to body. Regular desk just isn't ergonomical for work with computer mouse and keyBoard.

Got this mouse for productivity, mostly because of the build quality... but to be honest, it is way overpriced. It's missing features de MX master has (the scrolling wheel and horizontal scrolling wheel), and it's not a particularly good vertical mouse either. My previous vertical mouse was way more comfortable but holy shit was it shitty build quality. And it was far from the cheapest vertical mouse either. The MX vertical has no pinky rest, even your palm isn't resting that much on the mouse. You get used to it but I suggest trying other vertical mice for reference, as they will probably feel better. The back/forward buttons are awkward at first but most vertical mice have that problem. I really suggest you try other vertical mice, like the most popular ones on Amazon. Evoluent ones have good grip but feel way cheaper. But as for a wireless, usb rechargeable mouse, AFAIK it is the only non shitty option. The 3 profiles are nice. Connectivity is excellent, haven't noticed any problems using it via both bluetooth and RF, like some older MX master had for a while. But they should knock off a good 20-30 dollars off the price tag because there is no way to price this at the same level as an MX master

The mouse really isn’t for gaming at all. It’s really for people who use a mouse for 8+ hours a day. A lot of programmers use these. The constant back and forth from keyboard to mouse with your palms flat really does take its tole after a while and can lead to carpal tunnel. The mouse actually helps out quite a bit with that pain

This was a god awful review. It was just perspective and bias, how long did you try and develop muscle memory? because all you said it was tiring (as building muscle memory does to you). Laying your hand flap on a normal mouse is one of the leading causes of carpal tunnel. The vertical mouse releases that tension, so it is superiour for health. It would of been nice to see you give this a good 2-3 months since I am assuming you used a normal mouse for years. I dont think you gave it a fair chance.

PRECISE PRECISION = MEME What is this "tension in your arm?" I think this really comes down to muscle memory and not some magical "arm tension" that makes someone more precise - of course someone is going to feel more comfortable with a mouse shape that they are accustomed to using over a different design that they have little-to-no experience using. Is there something I am missing? Did someone conduct a study about "tension in your arm" making you more precise in video games?

As an example most of the reviewers say that a sensor is bad because it only has X dpi settings... The quality of the tracking of the sensor has nothing to do with the DPI settings itself.
