Fit and finish look really, really good. Looks well balanced and the handling seems spot on. Great job, Ali!!!

David Shaw you can get plans for a built up balsa/carbon Bubble Dancer by Mark Drela. You would get 90% of the performance of this incredible F5J ship, for 20% of the cost. As a bonus, you get to spend some quality time building a fantastic glider that can be enjoyed for decades, if properly cared for.

I am starting to appreciate soaring more, it is as zen as hotlining, maybe even more so as you are always on the edge. My best soaring plane is a NAN Orion, basically NAN's hot rod... basically a NAN-spec aerobatic sailplane with too much power. I typically run a 4S 2200 mAh down to 3.75v in 1min of power on (in a good number of short bursts). I used to get ~10-12 mins of flight with this per min of battery, now I average 22-25 mins by slowing down and looking for lift. My best is 43 mins of flight for 1:13 mins battery, basically lucked into a giant thermal but took the time to slow down and ride it. Anyhoo...this video has me seriously wanting to look harder at F5J... that my friend looks like a ton of fun! The Orion would be down on the ground pronto, this is a whole new level of float. With control (great job!).

Главное в f5j взлететь не выше 70 метров Отлетать 15 минут и посадить к ногам планер.

Sooo cool! Thanks for the slow passes and thermal hunting. I'm still learning. Came from the gentle lady days. Got to turbines and now just love the carbon 1-3m gliders like this. So peaceful but crazy fast when you want.

WOW.... JUST WOW, the last I Flew gliders, it was a 'gentle lady' 2m polyhedral wing with a 2CH Futaba radio (FM of course) that cost me most of a weeks paycheck (remember the old FM peg boards). I also liked throwing stuff off a slope. Im thinking about getting back into it. I like the idea of DLG or F3K (if I am feeling lazy). Now I am older and have more CASH F5J looks pretty cool to, but reckon I would need to put in some time on smaller cheaper models. IS an F5J easy to fly?? What would you advise?
