So very special! Loved seeing little taro snuggled against the foster moms chest and her arm holding and protecting the little one. Just absolutely precious. Then seeing them cuddled up and napping. Really makes me feel better about people. Gives me some hope seeing that there’s still people in this world that actually has love in their hearts and give that love so freely. Thank you for helping these tiny little babies find love.

So nice to see Karla in there interested in becoming a foster mum. One of my favourite memories is of the hilarious first meeting between Dobby and Karla. I have a framed picture of them sitting near the fence of Disneyland, Karla with her arm around Dobby. Such a perfect photo as Karla was always the leader in that relationship. She would make a great foster mum for someone, maybe next year. Taro has found the perfect one for him though. Lovely to see!

Do you guys ever forget, and lip smack at people or your pets when you go home? I spoke to someone who volunteered with orphaned macaques once. She said after spending 4 months at the wildlife rehab, she visited home and started rapidly lip smacking to her baby niece before she remembered “wait, that’s just a monkey thing”.

The desire to become a foster mum to young orphan, does this happen in the wild?
@theopinionisthighqualityopinio Жыл бұрын
No, it doesn't. I'm not the best person to explain why though, so I hope someone else will. 🙂
@VervetMonkey Жыл бұрын
in nature one can never say never, but I don't think there is a desire, the potential mom would not be lactating and so the baby would die.

The video clip carries the message over. . . baby monkeys in need and your support is crucial. Photography: not professional yet. Get all staff members to look neat and tidy, trim and slim in case they appear in the video. Prepare the scenes. Remove litter before hand, tidy the rooms and remove clutter from offices. Use a tripod and eliminate camera shake. Progress from cell phone cameras to at least one proper camera. Use fill in lighting. . . the faces of the monkeys are dark, one can't see their eyes or expressions. Also light up the human faces a bit. Don't film through the fencing, and avoid sticks and branches to obscure the monkey being photographed. And good luck. . . . remember: practice make perfect.
