Giles Coren, The Time's restaurant critic and columnist has written about his experiences with an electric Jaguar. Cost him a fortune, perpetually breaking down, its security was so bad it was stolen twice, luckily (mm, sort of ) it was so unreliably it broke down and on both occasions the thieves abandoned it. FInally it broke down on returning from holiday and just short of his his house, in a huff his wife and kids abandoned him and walked home, he finally got fed up waiting for jaguar to rescue him so did so himself, then sold it. its a great and humorous story, but jaguar need to resolve all these remedial problems before introducing a car that looks like its been designed by Penelope Pitstop during a break whilst filming the whacky races.

Forgetting the "Woke", the car itself is a bummer which I would not even want to drive. That silly central bar or whatever would make me feel like I was in a cage, the ground clearance is too low for any kind of practical use, and lack of rear window and total reliance on tech to see whats behind frightens me. First impression, a big "WOW, then quickly followed by "Ahh".

Imagine if we were all duped into thinking how Jaguar failed, and then the production version comes out looking nothing like what was shown. Something with classical design, carbon fibre, and specs to seriously compete with German and Japanese vehicles.
