Your potions descriptions are amazing, they add a whole new dimension to the game.

1:42:17 Im surprised you don't have passageway recipes saved so you can start directly from just beyond the winding pathways. I guess your recipe book was pretty cluttered even without them? XD

1:49:10 I saw a pic of a vault that had been filled with watering cans, the answer is yes many. XD

13:42 No kidding! Its sooooo nice to just plop it in the cauldron unground or zip more upwards... but i can ALSO imagine being chronically out of it pre big garden update! We new players are practically spoiled rotten by it huh? XD ...its weirdly harder to use it as the last step for getting magical vision 3 than to use shadow chanreelle to get up in there (especiallyif you are also snagging agility), but it was sooo satisfying when i finally pulled off magical vision three with 2 tangle weeds and 2 thunder thistle.

@fractalgem it's great to hear the game's community is still growing! Your comment made me realize just how different a newcomer's potion craft experience will be, for some reason it didn't really sink in until now that many people will only ever experience the game as the 2.0 version lol. I should definitely start using thunder thistle again, although I get what you mean about it being more difficult. Probably because the straight lines don't really work well with the organic shapes of the death fields in that area. When straight diagonal lines are more appropriate though, I usually prefer boom bloom over thunder thistle if I have the starting space. Nice recipe btw, it's great when a challenging path comes together. Do you think it is better or worse that there is less of an initial struggle to survive?

@Rhapsody116 its more that the straight line is TOO perfectly aligned with the lighting effect, so if your positioning is even a leeeeeettle bit off, no tier 3 for you unless you spend another ingredient. Maybe ill try starting a short run where i don't harvest from the garden after the tutorial, see if i can get to the alchemy machine upgrade. That should be pretty close to how things used to be right? Im not sure. It seems to discourage engaging in what was a huge portion of the game, but a lot of people may not be interested in juggling the prices of 50 ish different ingredients and would rather focus on navigating the map.

@fractalgem that makes sense, I can understand why it is so satisfying when it works correctly! That would be interesting to see! It would be similar, although we did get a random collection of ingredients from the gardens every day. Never crystals, but the basic mushrooms and herbs. I'm guessing both ways of playing have pros and cons, but I'm glad that with the update, the garden stays relevant now

1:30:30 I guess another of those differences. When customers want certain types of multi effect potion i give em the ones for void salt/philosopher's stone/etc I don't have to care much about the ingredient expense, and its a revipe id have anyways....itd just save me so much trouble to give out those instead of trying to have 10 or 20 different recipes... But back then youd have to care, wouldn't you?

Honestly, once you got to a certain point in the old version, you didn't have to worry about the expense because the merchants came by often enough, and that point came pretty quickly. We all just like to try and make potions efficient for the challenge, lol. But the type of efficiency depends on the type of challenge each player sought out, e.g., highlander vs. lowlander. I hate doing the multiple effects orders, though, so I just give them my salt potions. But my salt potion recipes were from my early game days, so they are very inefficient

1:27:10 I generally just dunk custom ingredients in without grinding or stirring. The customer doesn't care. -ah, yes, you do know that. I was just thrown off by you bothering to grind and stir on a few previous requests XD

Yeah, sometimes I like to see if I can catch some books since I have to waste the ingredients anyway lol

17:41 Heh. 27:14 Or just pour points into slower haggling. XD Edit: misread something on the screen.

@fractalgem Before the garden update, this is all we had for decorating XD Spend points instead of hoarding them?? 😱😱 perish the thought! But yes, that upgrade was very necessary for me lol.
