Also for the part when the spectator get to choose which pile to use, you can say "Go ahead and choose which pile you want to count from." This sentence makes sense and sounds very legitimate for both piles. If they choose the one with the 8 as the top card, that pile determines the number they count from. And if they choose the other, then that is the pile that they count from. In my opinion, that direction statement gives the spectator a sense of freedom than just "Choose one pile." Cheers.

If anyone wants to use a different card than the '8' card, here is the equation to set it up: n = the number card of your choosing. Place one n card on top of the deck. Place one n card at the (n+2)th position from the top of deck. Place an n card at the nth and (n+1)th position from the bottom of the deck. Remember to choose the (n+2)th card when "selecting a random." ---- Example: I want to use the '5' card: 5 = the number card of your choosing. Place one 5 card on top of the deck. Place one 5 card at the 7th position from the top of deck. Place an 5 card at the 5th and 6th position from the bottom of the deck. Remember to choose the 7th card when "selecting a random."

Just so you all know it works with any number 2-10 I've done it with 7 and 9 :) Also if it is confusing here are the steps I done. - Grab 4 of the cards you want (1-10) (All the same number) Ex: 4 - Put a 4 in the back of the cards - Count 3 cards from the front and put the three 4's in front of them. - Look through all cards and choose one of your three cards. - Place the card on the ground - Look through the rest of the stack and after passing your two 4 cards tell them to tell you when to stop. - Place the two stacks beside each other and tell them to pick one. - If they pick the one with the two 4's they saying your gonna count through that stack after pulling a card from the top of the other one. - If they pick the one with out the two cards then take off the top one. The card should be a 4 so you count 4 from the bottom. - The 4 one needs to be taking off the stack and put the other three on top of the stack. - Now if you flip over the remaining three cards you should have four 4's. Hope that helped if not then try watching the video again? My first attempted failed but my second one and all the others were successful! Practice makes perfect.

It's the 8 that goes on top at the first place. When you deal the cards, you do it from the bottom (or the face up side). Look at 2:12, the 8 of spades on top, now see the flip at 3:23, the left pile of cards (in our sight) is the top one, which has the 8 of spades.

You can use different numbers, as long as they are actual numbers and not Jacks, Aces, etc. What you do is on the bottom of the deck place the cards in the positions of the number you chose and then the one above that number. For instance, for a six I would put two sixes in the sixth and then the seventh position. For nine, ninth and tenth, seven, seventh and eighth, and so on.

The thing you do is to place your index finger on the middle of the card, and your thumb on the upper right corner. Then you press the two fingers together while letting your thumb slip a little to the right downer corner 😉. Hope it was helpful.

Could you use the glide force thing? So you could ask the spectator to pick a card (or so they think..) rather than you picking the card out? So if you hide the first eight under the cards and give that to the spectator after they've picked a number out?

Ok the 1st 8 has to be on the 8th position which you would put it there by flip your deck to where you can see the card (the bottom part of the deck) you count 7 cards an you created a gap so in the gap put 2 8s so count them again so when you count 8 and 9 both 8s will have 2 be that 8 and 9 so now flip the deck back to the top of the deck and put an 8 as the 1 position and now count 9 and in the gap you just created add another 8 and count them again and the 1 should be an 8 and when you get to 10 check the card and it should be 8. Very old Penn and Teller trick from the 80s. Quite a few card forces made him able to do it. If you have a deck I suggest working HARD on card sleighs aces with repetitive motions. When your 4 aces are presented most people to begin the trick with a pre setup deck with 4 aces followed by the other cards that generally outgrown this trick. My method still requires 4 aces as well but then I grab 4 more cards with a quadruple lift and stack them on top. As long as you've got practiced hands you should pick it up rather quickly.

Andy Field does a similar version of this trick which is impromptu, they can shuffle the deck. You look through the deck to find what you think is their "lucky" card but as you do you put down random chunks of cards as you're looking. The chunks are of course not random, they're to set the deck up. Check it out, the video is called: Easy Beginners Card Trick Revealed for Experts.

I know a good trick. Not sure if you've done it. Basically, you shuffle the cards, tell them to pick a card. Then tell them to put it on the top. Distract them, and then put the card at the bottom of the deck. Shuffle, making sure not to move the card from the bottom, or move anything else to the bottom. The tell them to make a peace sign, then make it a sort of claw and turn it to the side. The put the deck there and tell them to hold it as tight as you would a pencil. Make sure they don't use their thumb for support. Then smack it, and they should only have one card. That card is their card.

When i put the 2 piles of cards down, it only works if the person picks the deck pile which shows 8 on top to count from the other pile, if they pick the 2nd pile of cards (after i've laid the two 8's down) then it's always a different card and the trick doesn't work? But he said in the video they can pick either pile?

There is an easy way to make the trick work with someone who wants you to shuffle the deck. All you need to do is take the four cards that you were trying to use so like the eights for example. Then take them to the top of the deck and use the control shuffle keeping those four cards at the top of the deck. Then while you’re talking to the spectator what you can do is take two of the cards and do a either pinky count or a spread count and put the two cards in the position. now you do need to practice making sure that it’s not that noticeable. Then take The two remaining cards and pick a number between one and 10, placing one of those cards in that position. If you want to make it a challenge you can tell someone to pick a number between one and 10 and 80% of the time they will choose 7. Then take that card that they choose and make it the prediction card. Then your deck is all set up for the trick. Hope this helped :)
