Yes, probably his accent, latin names work even better with "germanic" languages as we mostly pronounce things like they are spelled anyways. In Germany besides, spanish, italian and french you can still learn latin in pretty much every school.

I'm a new mama! And it's all your fault Petko!!! After 10 years I finally got back into the hobby and I am so happy that you inspired me to do so. It really is an awesome hobby, forever learning and always exciting! I am the proud new keeper of a Nhandu coloratovillosis, named Yandu and a Pseudoclamoris gigas, my Little giant. I absolutely love them! The re-housing was smooth, they both ate and I got them yesterday! I felt like sharing this good news with you Petko and with people who enjoy these little critters as much as I do, people around me don't seem to understand. But I know you guys do! 😃

It's really hard to be scared of tarantulas when Petko can just push them around with a straw... :D I'm so glad you have a Brachypelma hamori in your collection! That's the tarantula I want to get someday!

as a fresh tarantula keeper, i admire your bravoury with big t's being so close to your hands ( probably species wise but still. ) i bought a GBB of like 2-3 inches ( no legs added) and when rehousing mate i was shaking AF cause i read they can be quite skittish and run. but it all worked out she co-operated very nicely and now shes making a big web in her new enclosure

The butt language is common with bees as well :D I was going home, and on the fence i was a honeybee worker chilling. I poked her with a stick and she raised her big butt in the air and showed me the stinger. Then I came across another one, same story anf she also raised her butt. I think spiders and insects have their own languages :D

hi petko! i felt like reaching out to you( which i normally dont even comment on vids🤐). so i am EXTREMELY afraid of spiders, but i REALLY like caring for animals. I started keeping rats(not breeding), and when you watch KZbin vids about rat care automatically snake vids are recommended. I'm sure because rats are mentioned in snake feeding vids. somewhere alongs the lines of watching reptile vids i stumbled on your channel. For REAL your channel has gotten me sooooo interested in tarantulas. so much so that i just bought 5 slings. i know people dont recommend inexperience beginners to start with slings, but i think with so much information at my fingertips that I'll do ok. i got a Nhandu chromatus (Brazilian White Striped Bird-eater), Acanthoscurria geniculata (Brazilian giant white-knee), Brachypelma albopilosum (Curlyhair tarantula), Megaphobema robustum (Columbian Giant Red-leg), and a Ceratogyrus marshalli (Horned Baboon). Now because im scared to have to rehouse them a ton of times im putting them in a bit of a bigger enclosure than ive seen used online, but i think its not too big. I am a little intimidated by the c. marshalli, its old world. do you have any tips for someone who is afraid, but jumping head first into keeping tarantulas?
@webbrowser64546 жыл бұрын
Never count those new worlds out for being fiesty little buggers. My Aphonopelma chalcodes took a chunk out of my bamboo tongs upon first rehousing!

Had my B. Boehmei 3 weeks so far, she's kicked hairs once thus far. She's my first T, I wonder how she'll behave when she's due a rehouse..., still, firelegs among many other theraphosidae are rather pretty despite often misunderstood behaviour.
