There is just something special about playing original hardware. Just picked up an Xbox for 60 bucks and it's flawless. Ordered the stuff to softmod it and set it up for Live once again. Can't wait!

Xbox Live was an amazing era. I have some of the fondest memories playing Halo 2 on Live when it just released. Also, I’ll take the series S/current controller of the PlayStation ones anyday.

I recently tried to get a used Xbox for try Insignia too, it's amazing see this kind of proyects than relives the og experiences of games like Halo, Forza or even other ones.

Even ps2 have something similar, but it's a little tricky because is configurate a DNSS number, but you can play games like COD 3, NFSU and Toca Racing 3 with pc crossplay.

I just bought a heavily modded xbox for $700 with double the CPU power and double the ram with native HDMI output and support for xbox one controllers. Been playing online and it looks great man. With my new heat sinks I can also overclock the GPU to 300mhz and play Halo 2 at 720p. This thing has a 2TB SSD too with almost the whole xbox library installed on it. I can also use FTP over the internet to access the Xbox's SSD on my computer and add or delete anything.

@@BigTea Specifically my Razor Wolverine Ultimate controller. Playing a Original Xbox with a controller that has really well tuned dead zones is fantastic. I'll also be dropping $750 on a retro tink 4k soon so I can scale the Xbox to 4k with HDR and anti-aliasing.

I was complaining about the lack of having a guest with you on Xbox Live to someone recently. They were too young for the original xbox live like that, and they didn't realize it was ever possible. The lack of couch coop seems to be purposeful at this point to isolate people.

I hope we can get this same support for Xbox 360 soon. I think it's the only console that doesn't have support. PS2, PS3, Xbox, 3DS, Wii U, all have custom online servers.

If you want to hop onto some online co-op games get a copy of doom 3, gauntlet seven sorrows and rogue trooper. A buddy and I play both gauntlet and doom 3 co-op and these games rule online.

Im planning to buy one soon and mod it with this, I miss this years of gaming. My family was so poor when we came to canada, we always got food and clothes from the donation center back in the 90s. Most of my friends had ps2s then, and a few on xbox and I always went over to play from not being able to afford one. I eventually was able to get an xbox that was modded but then everyone moved onto xbox 360 and ps4 and I sold the xbox lol. man I miss these times. I was trying to use Xbox live subscription from 360 on the original because i got it and for some reason i couldn't redeem the code on original at all on the original xbox..and then i think i went on the Microsoft website and i must of redeemed it and idk i still didn't have live i guess i couldn't log in with that Microsoft account on original idk and it was before they shut down live like a year or under a year before they shut down live

you need to join the halo classic hub they host halo 2 every tuesday and on thursdays they host BTB on halo 2 or they host halo ce on xlink kai and halo 2 alpha and beta builds
